SHOWING OFF OUR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS

If you are a regular reader, you know that three of the kitties are in committed relationships: Mauricio, Astrid and Lisbeth.

When the three asked if they could share some special photos of their significant others, I couldn’t refuse. After all, they are adorably cute!

Lisbeth and Mauricio asked Mom Emily (Kitty Cat Chronicles)* to make something special for Charles and Allie.

As Astrid’s boyfriend Sampy’s mom is the one who makes the flowers and bow-ties, Sampy already had one. But Astrid asked if I would share his photo anyway. I cannot refuse her anything. If you missed Astrid in her special flower from Sampy, you can see her here. Mau also has a bowtie. You can see his photo here.

Mauricio also wanted to show one of the Christmas gifts Allie sent him. He says that it is the best gift he has ever received in his ten years, and I must agree with him. You may recognize this photo from our sidebar.

HAPPY NEW YEAR & BIRTHDAY WISHES TO FURIENDS

Welcome to 2015!

Some of the kitties did a little celebrating for New Year’s Eve. Mauricio and Lisbeth both attended the party at Cat Scouts. Mau attended with his Cat Scout girlfriend, Allie, from Friends Furever.  And Lisbeth attended with her Cat Scout boyfriend, Charles.

While Mau and Lisbeth were at Cat Scouts, Giulietta and Fiona attended the New Year’s Eve Party at Nellie’s (Cat from Hell) house in Midway. They were accompanied my the most handsome heart-throb, Clooney, from Clooney’s Num-Num Fund.

The rest of the gang hung out at home with the old folks. We were happy to have their company; though, they spent the entire evening snoozing. The Gershwin tunes on PBS didn’t seem to get their toesies tapping.

We also are celebrating birthdays of two good furiends.

The first is Lisbeth’s boyfriend Charles, whose birthday was New Year’s Eve.

The second birthday is today. The kitties good furiend, Sammy (onespoiledcat), is celebrating his 15th birthday. He’s having a brunch, and we’re sure he’d love your company. And while you are there, make sure to give him a huge hug or handshake of concatulation. He was named one of two Cat Scouts of the Year last night. We are all so super proud of him. He’s a terrific Troop Leader of the Worldwide Wildcats and a tireless worker for Cat Scouts.

If  you aren’t a Cat Scout, why not make it a New Year’s Resolution to join. It’s a great organization.

Wishing all of our friends, furiends and their families a blessed New Year,

Kitties Blue & Mom Janet

LISBETH’S ROMANTIC CHRISTMAS GIFT

Sunday Selfies Blog Hop

Mom has been following me around the house the last couple of days begging me to take some selfies for today. Why? She wanted me to show off my gorgeous Christmas gift from my boyfriend, Cat Scout Charles. I got some selfies taken, but I wasn’t doing a good job of getting the right angle to let you see my gift. So Mom had to take the photo that shows it.

In the large photo on the left, I am showing off my lovely, purple, crocheted flower Christmas gift. Sampy’s (Kitty Cat Chronicles) mommy, Emily, made one for each of us girls. The lower right photo is a traditional selfie. In the upper right photo I am showing off the beautiful charm Charles sent me for Christmas. As you can see it has his portrait on it. I am wearing it on my collar, which keeps Charles close to my heart.

Charles is the most romantic, thoughtful and generous boyfriend as well as super handsome, as you can see. I am a very lucky girl to have him in my life! And what makes it even better: My humans really like him too!

This is our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. I am hoping you will join me. If you would like to grab the code below and include the hop on your blog, purrlease link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge. Thanks very much. And have an Easy Sunday!

LISBETH TELLS ALL

I know I teased you for a couple of days about having something very exciting to tell you. I promised to let you in on the surprise on Tuxie Tuesday, and so…

Lisbeth and Charles

A few days ago, Charles asked me to be his girlfriend. If you read our blog regularly, you know that Charles is a Cat Scout with Mau in the Worldwide Wildcats Troop and the Wolverines Patrol.

Charles and I have attended many Cat Scout events together. Here’s a little slide show. (Move your cursor over each slide to read the caption.)

Charles is handsome, kind, sweet, generous, chivalrous and so much more. In other words: an exemplary Cat Scout. He was recently purrmoted to the rank of Cougar. I am so proud of him and honored to be his girlfriend.

One of the most impawtant things is that my parents like and trust him. They know he will always take good care of me when we are together and make certain I am home by the appointed time.

I would invite you to visit Charles on his blog, but unfortunately he does not have one.

I do hope you think my news was worth the wait.

See you all tomorrow for WW.

Purrs and paw-pats, Lisbeth

MAURICIO’S A TURKEY

As today is Thanksgiving here in the good old U.S. of A., Mom asked us if we’d like to share with y’all the things for which we are grateful. We agreed, but being cats we decided this was a good time to do a little bargaining. And being that the girls far out number the boy, we said we would share only if Mauricio dressed up as a turkey. Since our humans are constantly telling him he is a turkey, it seemed only natural that he should look like one.

He wasn’t happy, but gave in when we told him he could post small photos of himself in his Pilgrim and Indian attire, which he wore for his Cat Scout Service Project Thanksgiving Cards. So here he is for your giggling and guffawing pleasure, Turkey Cat Mau.

We told him that it was inappropriate as a turkey himself to be holding and planning to eat that gigantic turkey drumstick. He was the one who guffawed at that, so we relented. After all, no turkey will be served at our house tomorrow. The humans are going off to serve folks less fortunate than themselves. Mom did check and has assured us that a can of Turkey and Giblets dinner awaits us in the cupboard.

Mom has just reminded us that we are now totally off topic, so here are the things for which we are thankful:

1) Our humans, of course.
2) Three squares a day!
3) Oodles of toys.
4) Our nip plant.
5) The humans’ king-sized bed which we monopolize.
6) All our friends who regularly visit and comment on our blog as well as the occasional visitors.
7) All the bloggers who have befriended us and Mom. This is the most loving, caring and generous community to which any of us have ever belonged.
8) And finally: LOVE and lots of it.

Individually, Mau is grateful to have a beautiful and sweet girlfriend, Allie (Friends Furever), and so many wonderpurr friends at Cat Scouts, including Denmaster. Astrid is thankful to have the most loving boyfriend (who sends her kisses efurryday) a girl kitty could dream of having, Cat Scout Sampy (Kitty Cat Chronicles). Lisbeth is grateful for her chivalrous and handsome suitor, Cat Scout Charles. The rest of us remain unattached and, at least for now, are happy just the way are…paw-loose and fancy free!

As we promised Mau, here are his photos in his other Thanksgiving attire.

ROCKIN’ & ROLLIN’ AT THE SOCK HOP

The gym was awash in girls with colorful poodle skirts and boys in leather jackets boppin’ to a fifties beat at the Cat Scouts Sock Hop Friday night. Most of the girls selected the traditional pink poodle skirts. But others, like Scout Dezi, were less traditional. She was a vision in all blue to match her eyes. And CatPhillips and Madi (Raz’s date) were ravishing in red.

I was so proud to have three of my kits in attendance: Scout Mau and his girlfriend, Scout Allie; Lisbeth and her friend, Scout Charles; and Astrid with her boyfriend, Scout Sampson. I think they all look so adorable.

Though a lot of Scouts had some classic cars to transport themselves and their dates to the Hop, many decided to take the Party Bus so they’d have extra time to visit with each other. Astrid, Lisbeth, Mau and their dates were part of that group.

The big event of the night was the Dance Contest, and the Scouts really threw themselves into it with all four paws. I’m thinking that a Dancing Merit Badge is in order. Of course, Kitties Blue and their dates participated. They even got dressed in special outfits to show off their moves.

Charles & Lisbeth both being a little shy selected a a subdued Lindy for their dance.

Charles & Lisbeth decided to perform a less vigorous dance.

The Scouts voted for their favorites in the Dance Contest. Four couples tied for first place, including Astrid and Sampson. They earned one of the coveted trophies.

They practiced for many hours, and it really showed. I am so happy for them both.

Both Charles and Sampson are very thoughtful young men. Prior to the dance Charles sent Lisbeth a darling retro charm bracelet, which she was so excited to wear to the dance.

What can I say…I’m a proud mom.
