#RememberMeThursday
Each year, Kitties Blue and I #ShineALight on pet adoption by participating in #RememberMeThursday, established by the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Today I am remembering two special Kitties Blue. Both of these precious and beloved cats received their angel wings last year, Astrid on September 19 and Sawyer on December 19. Both were abandoned kittens and really too young to fend for themselves.
Astrid
Astrid (originally named Tabitha by her foster mom) was found on a roof with her brother Bobbie. Those two kittens were fortunate, thanks to Barn Cat Buddies. They landed in a foster home with a nursing mom cat. That cat just happened to be Lisbeth’s (Cary at the time) mom. That’s how Dad Tom and I met and ended up adopting both Astrid and Lisbeth together in 2011.
Sawyer
Sawyer was discovered by treat lady/cat sitter/housekeeper Chris at the vacant house next door to ours on Thanksgiving in 2017. No mom or any litter mates were anywhere to be found. We would not even have wanted to imagine what his life would have been like had Chris not found him. A tiny kitten with a seizure disorder would not have had much chance on his own.
Dad Tom’s and my life have been filled with stray cats that have found their way to our house, including those eight tiny terrorists dropped off in our alley last October. We have never turned any of them away; though, we had to find loving homes for quite a few through the years.
But not all cats are as lucky. Too many find their way to shelters without a no-kill policy or get attacked by other animals or run over in the street. And too many to mention end up being abused by the human(s) they thought would be their forever caregiver(s).
Today, we remember both the fortunate and the unfortunate.

Happy Birthday
Today, Kitties Blue and I also are remembering and celebrating a dear friend … Two Spoiled Cats, Teddy and Angel Sammy’s mom, Pam. We missed her so much in the past month. We are so delighted she is back on line, and we are able to communicate with her. And, it is just in time to wish her a happy birthday!
Of course, our Cooper Murphy baked a cake.
And we have some champagne for the adults and lemonade for the kids.
Thankful Thursday
Thursday is also the day when the Kitties Blue and I share thankfuls.
Dad Tom and I are thankful we have had the opportunity to make certain so many kitties had good homes whether with us or someone else.
I am thankful to have Pam as a dear and precious friend and especially thankful she is once again able to communicate with everybody.
