BELATED 12TH ANNIVERSARY OF SUNDAY SELFIES

Sunday Selfies: Week #626

As I was preparing this post, it occurred to me that I started this hop around this time of year. After a bit of math, I discovered I missed our 12th anniversary by two weeks. I truly find it hard to believe we have been doing this every Sunday for such a long of time.

Gibbs, of course, is one of the newbies to the hop. Lisbeth was the host of week #1, and by rights she should be hosting today. However, as her birthday is tomorrow, she declined the honor and is saving her energy for tomorrow.

Gibbs did snap a couple of selfies with his eyes open, but I liked this one best. He didn’t get a vote.

A selfie of a white and black young cat with his eyes mostly closed and his head tilted. framed in a black filigree.

Hop with Us

Gibbs and all the other Kitties Blue look forward to seeing your adorable faces each week. So, they will be looking for you again today or anytime through Thursday. And, as Gibbs has shown, you do not need to be totally awake to participate.

We are not doing anything special to celebrate our anniversary, as we’ll be having a birthday party tomorrow. We do, however, want to thank everyone who has ever participated in our hop, whether it has been from the beginning or more recently. Without your desire to join in the fun, this endeavor would have ended long ago. So, thank you very much!

Remembering Seal

It is with heavy hearts that we say good-bye to another friend. Sweet, blue-eyed and beautiful Seal from Brian’s Home received her angel wings on Friday. We were totally shocked to read this and will miss seeing her. She was dearly loved and will remain so forever. If you have not had the opportunity to leave a message for Dad Terry and Mom Celesta as well as Seal’s fursibs, click on her photo below.

Long-haird siamese cat with crystal blue eyes in a red and pink lace frame with ribbons and the words, "Seal Remembered and Loved Always."

Whether you have hopped or not, thanks for joining us today. Have an easy Sunday … preferably one filled with oodles of treats. Tell your humans that Kitties Blue recommended this.

A POEM OF PEACE & THANKFULS

Thankful Thursday

We are starting with thankfuls today for Angel Brian’s blog hop.

💐 Ten years ago today, Angel “Mau”ricio and Angel Allie (Friends Furever) were married at Cat Scouts. (Of course, they were not angels at the time.) Scoutmaster officiated and all their friends and fursibs attended.

⛈️ We have been having significant rainfall almost every day. Unfortunately, we remain in an “emergency-level” drought. Rain is approximately 7.8 inches below normal throughout the Commonwealth. This represents the second driest year on record. The driest was 2002. Our region has only received 57 percent of the rain that is normal for this time of year. Nonetheless, we are thankful for what we have been getting and pray it continues.

🥳 Periwinkle & Stinky are thankful for each of you who joined their adventure on Tuesday. They celebrated the anniversary of Angel Sawyer’s Gotcha Day and our blog’s 14th blogoversary.

😸 Kitties Blue and I are thankful for each of you who visit and comment on our posts, and especially for those who join our Sunday Selfies blog hop.

We will be hopping over to Angel Brian’s Home to participate in the Thankful Thursday blog hop. To join us there, click on the Thankful badge.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Thursday is also poetry day. The Two Spoiled Cats, Teddy and Angel Sammy, presented us with a bucolic inspiration photo this week. I have added Gibbs to my photo. He is that tiny white and black speck on the deck.  In the poem, his name is Charlie.

A cabin in the peaceful setting in the woods with a cat on the deck.

A Place of Peace

Our cabin in the woods
may look rundown and shabby,
but it brings peace to my soul.

No phone, internet, TV
or noisy, nosey neighbors … just
burbling creek sounds and Charlie.

While I daydream, read or nap,
Charlie chitters at the squirrels
then joins me for a snack.

We watch birds and butterflies,
fireflies, like magical fairies,
when the sun dips behind the trees.

The hours and days pass peacefully.
We enjoy each other and our refuge
until we reluctantly return to city living.

THE ADVENTURES OF PERIWINKLE & STINKY: PART CCCL

The Arrival of Periwinkle & Another Kitty

Stinky waits by the teleportation tunnel for Periwinkle. She is always punctual, so he knows he won’t have to wait long. Moments later, the teleportation tunnel begins to vibrate. Periwinkle tumbles out with the familiar whoosh. Before Stinky can set her upright, Noelle tumbles out behind her. Periwinkle is only slightly surprised to see her.

“Stinky, I was fairly certain I knew what you had planned for today, but now that I see Noelle, I know I am right.”

“Well, you are a really smart kitty, so I am not surprised you figured it out. We will be celebrating the anniversary of Angel Sawyer’s second Gotcha Day … the day that our Mom rescued him from his three-and-a-half week walkabout.”

“I am happy that you continue to remember that all important day when Sawyer came home. It truly was a miracle and a relief that he was unharmed,” states Noelle.

“Mom said we could do something today we have not done in the past.”

“Oh, I love a surprise, what is it?” asks Periwinkle.

Giveaway

“We are going to give away two copies of Purrseverance. The winners will be able to read Sawyer’s story as well as that of many of their other friends.”

“That is a super idea. What will readers need to do to win?”

“Just leave a comment on this post before midnight ET on Friday. Mom will use Random.org to select the winners.”

“I know this is a special day for another reason as well,“ says Periwinkle.

“That’s right, it is the fourteenth blogoversary of The Cat on My Head.”

Reminiscing

“It really is a strange coincidence that your mom brought Sawyer home on the anniversary of the blog,” replies Periwinkle.

“I know, and that is not the only unusual occurrence. The person who found Sawyer and snapped his photo lived in the house where Mom and Dad adopted their first kitty, Skooter. A friend of Mom’s lived there in the 80s.”

“He was obviously meant to come home. It is just too bad it took so long,” says Periwinkle.

“I know. That was extra time we all would have loved to have had with him. Mom thinks about him constantly and how much joy and sorrow he brought to our family.”

“So, what are we going to do today besides the give away?”

“That is a very good question?” As Sawyer’s birthday was just three weeks ago, Mom did a post for him then,” replies Stinky.

“Yes, but that was a party. She hasn’t shared photos since she let everyone know he went to the Rainbow Bridge,” interjects Noelle.

“She’s right, Stinky. We should find some photos your mom didn’t share back then, and make a couple more scrapbook pages for him.”

Scrapbooking

“Sure, we are really good at that. I will gather the supplies.”

After Stinky gathers what they need, the three cats get busy selecting some photos. “Lots of these, I don’t remember,” declares Stinky.

“He was such a cutie pie,” says Noelle with a tear in her eye.

“Indeed he was,” agrees Stinky and adds, “We all used to giggle at him when he looked like he was hopping like a bunny. Being a Manx cat, his back legs were longer than his front. Mom says, when she pictures him in her mind, most times that is how she sees him. She thinks his tailless butt was super cute.”

“I’ll agree with that,” says Noelle with a giggle.

“Noelle, I think you should be the first to share the page you made,” says Periwinkle.

“Thanks, I would like to go first. I miss Sawyer so very much.”

“That is so sweet, Noelle,” exclaims Periwinkle as she gives Noelle a hug. “Stinky, is it okay if I go next?”

“Of course.”

“That’s beautiful, Periwinkle,” Stinky says. “I guess it is my turn.”

“I am feeling very sad, now,” states Noelle.

“Oh, I think we all are,” Periwinkle tells her.

“I think I can cheer us all up. Cooper Murphy has baked some cakes—one in memory of Angel Sawyer and one to celebrate the blog’s 14th anniversary. We have beverages to share as well,” Stinky tells Periwinkle and Noelle.

A Celebration Cake and a Remembrance Cake

“As usual, Cooper Murphy has outdone himself,” Noelle exclaims.

“Let’s get all my fursibs together to celebrate the blogoversary and remember Sawyer. He was special, and I know we all wish he was still with us,” suggests Periwinkle.

Stinky goes in search of all the Kitties Blue and they join he, Noelle and Periwinkle for some cake, beverages and a group photo.

Finally, it is time for Noelle and Periwinkle to head home. Noelle thanks Stinky for including her in the remembrance for Angel Sawyer and the blogoversary celebration. She then heads into the teleportation tunnel for the trip home so Periwinkle and Stinky can spend some time together.

The two tabbies spend several minutes paw hugging, whisker kissing, and saying, “I love you,” to each other.  Then Periwinkle enters the teleportation tunnel and with a wave and blown kiss is gone in a whoosh.

Stinky heads to the kitchen to clean up their craft supplies and then finds a nice sunpuddle for a nap and dreams of Periwinkle.

The End

The tabbies, all the Kitties Blue and Noelle will be joining the Happy Tuesday blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus. If you would like to do the same, click on the Happy badge.

TWO BLUE BOYS ART

Caturday Art

An awake, air-biscuit-maker, Cooper Murphy, and a slumbering kitten, Gibbs, are teaming up today for Caturday Art.

To of the Kitties Blue boys, an orange tabby and a white and black kitten, are the subject of Caturday Art.

I used Painnt again to create the art. The effect is called, Half Hour. I increased the contrast slightly and decreased the saturation slightly. The frame is from the favpng app. The colorful flowers in the lower right corner are from piZap.

82nd Anniversary of D-Day

On June 6, 1944, armed forces landed on the beaches in Normandy, France, as part of what was known at the time as Operation Overlord (now known as D-Day). To commemorate last month’s Memorial Day holiday, Periwinkle & Stinky visited The National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia. If you missed that post and would like to check it out now, you can find it at, “The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky: Part CCCXLII.”

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Kitties Blue and I know you really do not need this reminder, but we have always included it on our Caturday post, so here it is again.  One of our eight (as usual I have no idea which one) will be here tomorrow to host our weekly hop. It is open to all anipals regardless of species. All of us here at The House of Blue Cats look forward to seeing your precious faces each week, so we hope you will join in the fun anytime through Thursday.

In the meantime, have a happy Caturday.

ANNIVERSARY THANKFUL & A POEM

Thankful Thursday

On Thursdays, Kitties Blue and I like to share things for which we are thankful from the past week. Then we participate in the Thankful Thursday bl0g hop.

I received another cat kiss from Raleigh. Maybe that boy is softening toward me.

Dad Tom and I celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary on Tuesday with a nice dinner out. I am so thankful to have such a kind, thoughtful and supportive partner with which to share my life.

Throughly Poetic Thursday

It also is time for some poetry based on an inspiration photo provided by our friends, Teddy and Angel Sammy, from Two Spoiled Cats.

Here’s the inspiration photo followed by my poem.

Child reading under the covers with a flashlight.

Defiance

“Just one more chapter,” I said.
“Mom said, “No, go to bed.”
If Mom finds me, she’ll be vexed,
but I just have to know what happens next.
Will the bad guys win,
or will the police catch and take them in?
I’m not sure what I would prefer,
but I do know one thing for sure:
I cannot be left in suspense,
or I’ll lie awake wondering what does come next!

600TH SUNDAY SELFIES HOP!

Sunday Selfies: Week #600

A cute, green-eyed torbie cat with a red background and red and pink frame with bows celebrating 600th Sunday Selfies.

Audrey has the honor of being your host for week 600 of our Sunday Selfies blog hop. By the expression on her face, however, I am not certain she thinks it is much of an honor. I am trying to figure out if that is a look of distain or skepticism. I do know what would put a smile on her face … lots of you joining her on the hop.

But before we do that, we need to celebrate a little. We have some beverages and, of course, a cake from Cooper Murphy.

Let’s All Hop

After you have joined us for some noms, all the Kitties Blue and I hope you will not only hop with us but also invite some friends to do the same. We need to make some new friends. And we cannot imagine that if given the chance, anyone wouldn’t want to hop along.

But whether you hop or not, thanks for coming by today to help us celebrate.

THE ADVENTURES OF PERIWINKLE & STINKY: PART CCC

300th Adventure

Stinky is always excited to see Periwinkle, but he is happier than usual, as they have excellent weather for today’s adventure, which will be outside. It has been so hot, humid and rainy, that he’d been thinking they wouldn’t be able to do what he planned.

As Stinky paces in front of the teleportation tunnel waiting for Periwinkle’s arrival, his mom brings him two bike helmets and reminds him to be extra careful. Moments later he sees the teleportation tunnel begin to vibrate, and Periwinkle pops out with a whoosh. He immediately drops the helmets so he can grab her. As usual, she is giggling but stops to give Stinky a kiss and paw hug, which he reciprocates. Before Periwinkle can speak, Stinky hands her a helmet, takes her paw and leads her to the back driveway.

When Periwinkle sees what is parked in the driveway, she starts firing questions at Stinky: “Stinky, is that a scooter? Do we get to ride on it? Is that why we have bike helmets? Where are we going?”

Dorothy Gillespie Abstract Mural

Stinky, replies, “Yes, yes, yes, around town to look at some of the murals. First, we are going to go downtown to see the first modern-era mural painted in 1979 by renown local artist, Dorothy Gillespie. So buckle up your helmet and let’s get a move on.”

Colorful abstract mural by Roanoke, Va. artist, Dorothy Gillespie.

As they admire Gillespie’s work, Stinky tells Periwinkle, “Advertising signs were painted on the sides of buildings primarily from the 1880s to the 1950s. We have many of those here in Roanoke. Of course, they faded over time. They are called ‘ghost signs.’ The same thing happened to Gillespie’s work. So, a couple of years ago, it was repainted by Jack Fralin of Best Bet Arts and Media.”

“It definitely is bright now Stinky,” exclaims Periwinkle.

“It is the only abstract mural we will see today,” Stinky tells Periwinkle, as he hops back on the Scooter, then takes her paw to help her up. As they head off, Stinky tells Periwinkle that they are heading back to his neighborhood to see one of his favorites.

Jon Murrill Murals

Stinky explains to Periwinkle that they only will be seeing murals by local artist, Jon Murrill. He is a professional muralist with an MS in Fine Arts from Radford University, concentrating in painting and drawing. He has also taught college-level courses in Watercolors, Drawing, Design, Art History and Art Appreciation.

two cartoon tabby cats, Periwinkle & Stinky, celebrate their 300th adventure in front of a mural featuring a dirt biker and entitled, Giant of Wasena.

“This one is just a few blocks from my house, Periwinkle. The “Giant of Wasena” covers two sides of the building. This is the best part of it.” The tabbies hop off the scooter to get a closer look. After admiring this mural, Stinky tells Periwinkle they are headed to his second favorite, “Nature Train,” which celebrates Roanoke’s history as a railroad town.

“Stinky this reminds me of our adventure at the Transportation Museum in June, 2023. Let’s give our readers a link to that post.”

“Good idea, Periwinkle!” Here it is: The Virginia Museum of Transportation.

“Where to next, Stinky?”

“We are going to see a series of three murals from the “Lady Appalachia” series. The first is in the neighboring town of Vinton, the second in Stuart, Virginia and the third here in Roanoke. We’ll hop in the teleportation tunnel to visit the one in Stuart. In order these are: Lady Appalachia #1, Lady of the Pines and Lady of the River. The woman represented is local resident, Bri Aarons.”

“Let’s go check out another one, Periwinkle.”

“Stinky I love all the stunning butterflies on this one. Does it have a name?”

“I couldn’t find one for it on-line,” Stinky replies.

“I am just going to call it ‘Gorgeous Butterflies,’” Periwinkle tells him. “What’s next?”

“Another, located not too far from my house in Grandin Village is entitled, ‘Mothers of the Forest.’ It is on the back of a restaurant and can be seen from the shop across the parking lot, which is Cardinal Bicycle.”

“Oh, Stinky, that was very clever to paint this mural here. I think this is my favorite. The colors are so vibrant.”

“Let’s check out just a couple more today, and then we can head home for a picnic and to celebrate our 300th adventure. Lot’s of the murals are on the Roanoke River Greenway where Mom and Dad ride the tandem and Dad rides his e-bike. This is one of the first ones they remember seeing.”

“The tabbies stop and admire the ‘I ❤️ SE’ mural, and then continue on to two additional murals on the Greenway.

“This artist likes to paint birds it seems,” remarks Periwinkle.

“Yes, he does. There are lots more that we didn’t visit that have birds,” Stinky tells her. He continues, “Periwinkle, Jon Murrill is not the only local artist  painting murals in our area, and those of Murrill’s we saw today represent only a few of the stunning art created by him. So, we will do this again in order to share more of those murals. Plus, at some point we will have an adventure where we visit the stunning mosaic creations of Steve Paul. He’s the artist who did the mosaics on my house.” Periwinkle claps her paws together and tells Stinky she can’t wait for those future adventures.

“So are you ready to head home for that picnic and to celebrate our 300th adventure?” Stinky asks Periwinkle.

“Oh my cat, Stinky, I totally forgot this is our 300th adventure. Yes, yes, let’s celebrate with a picnic,” exclaims Periwinkle.

After Periwinkle and Stinky’s picnic, they head to the catio for a nap and visit with Stinky’s fursibs. Finally, the time arrives for Periwinkle to head home. She and Stinky spend several minutes paw hugging and whisker kissing before Periwinkle enters the teleportation tunnel. Then with a wave and blown kiss, she is gone in a whoosh. Stinky returns to the catio for another nap and dreams of Periwinkle.

NINTH ANNIVERSARY FOR OUR ANGELS

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Heart-shaped portraits of a tuxie cat and a Birman cat with the words, "Happy 9th Anniversary Allie and Mau" as well as "Love Your Forever."

These two special angels were married in 2016 at Cat Scouts. Most of their friends from Scouts are now angels as well, so we suspect there will be a huge party at the Rainbow Bridge.

Please stop by Friends Furever to let Mom Sharon know you are thinking of her lovely Allie today.

Angels Allie and Mau will participate in. the Wordless Wednesday blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus. You can do the same by clicking on the WW badge.

TWO AMEOWZING ANNIVERSARIES

Our 13th Blogiversary

When the Kitties Blue and I set out on this amazing blogging adventure, we had no idea we would still be at it thirteen years later. That is longer than I held any paying job during my time as a worker bee. Maybe this endeavor has endured, as I have no one to answer to except the cats and those of you who visit and read our posts.

The Kitties

When this all began, Dad Tom and I were the human parents to seven cats: Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Astrid, Lisbeth, Giulietta and Fiona. Calista Jo joined us just three months later. Eight cats had come before this group, and Lily Olivia had known all but one of those. She continued to be the bridge between that group and the group that became known as Kitties Blue.

Fiona gained her angel wings in 2016 at just six years old, but the following year two more cats joined the group, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer, bringing our household to a total of nine demanding cats and two human servants. Unfortunately Lily Olivia left us in January of 2018. As the years went by we would also lose Giulietta, Mau and Misty May. And Kizmet, Raleigh and Audrey would join us. (If you are unfamiliar with any of our kitties past or present, check out The Felines page.)

So here we sit with eight Kitties Blue on this 13th blogoversary. During those years, Astrid and Mau would find and marry their soulmates, Sampy (also now an angel) and Allie (an angel along with Mau).

Periwinkle & Stinky

Logo for the Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky with two cartoon tabby cats.On October 8, 2019, I created and introduced two cartoon cats, Stinky and Periwinkle (the alter egos of Sawyer and his girlfriend Noelle [Friends Furever]), as we didn’t have enough cats to deal with already. Periwinkle/Noelle’s Mom Sharon and I began collaborating and sharing “The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky,” on alternate Tuesdays. Those crazy adventurous tabbies have been awarded numerous Certificates of Excellence from the Cat Writers’ Association. Tomorrow, they will share their 298th adventure right here.

Some Other Accomplishments

🐈 Just a couple of other facts before we move on. I began the Sunday Selfies blog hop on August 17, 2014, and yesterday was its 570th week.Cat Writers' Association Muse Medallion

🐈‍⬛ This is our 3,884th post.

🐾 And last October, The Cat on My Head received the Muse Medallion as Best Entertainment blog for 2023.

In celebration of this 13-year milestone, we will be having a giveaway, but more about that later.

Sawyer’s Second Gotcha Day Anniversary

Grey Manx tabby cat, Sawyer, returns from his walkabout.Sometimes events in our universe align themselves purrfectly, and that is what happened on July 21, 2021, when I brought Sawyer home after his three-and-a-half week walkabout. Sawyer found an opportunity to escape from the house on June 26. During the time he was missing, he managed to travel .9 miles from home and end up at the exact house from where Dad Tom and I adopted our very first cat, Skooter, in the mid-80s. So, we now celebrate two anniversaries every July 21st.

(If you are unfamiliar with the story of Sawyer’s walkabout and homecoming, you can read it in the book, Purrseverance, where it is published under the title, “Sawyer: The Lucky Cat.” (Check our sidebar for additional information.)

In celebration of this anniversary, we will be having a second giveaway.

Party Time

With all this talk about celebrating, I guess it is time to get down to it. When Mauricio was alive he became the official baker at Cat Scouts as well as for our blog. After Cooper Murphy joined Cat Scouts, Mau began teaching him the art of baking. When Mau became an angel, Cooper took over the baking responsibilities full-time. As we are celebrating two important occasions, Coop baked two cakes for today.

Anniversary Cake with four tiers and 10 cats.

Gotcha Day Anniversary cake with three tiers, stars and a grey tabby cat on the top.

We also have an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet as well as beverages and everyone’s favorite nip ice cream.

Seafood buffet

Beverages and ice cream.

Please enjoy and stay as long as you like.

Giveaway

To commemorate today, we are going to have a giveaway with three separate prizes. Each will have a little gift for the human and one for the cat(s) [or two for the human if the winner(s) does not share their home with a kitty]. To be entered, you only need to leave a comment on this post prior to noon on Thursday, July 24. Kitties Blue will use Random.org to select the three winners and announce the names on Friday.

What’s Coming Up

As mentioned earlier in this post, Periwinkle & Stinky will be here tomorrow sharing their next adventure. Then on Wednesday we will be celebrating another anniversary. It will be Angels Allie and Mau’s Ninth Wedding anniversary. Thursday will be our day for poetry and thankfuls. For Feline Friday, I plan to share news from this year’s roundup.

Awww Mondays

I had planned to share a Spark today, but will save it for next week. The kitties, however, will be participating in the Awww Mondays blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus. To join our gang there, click on the Awww badge.

Thank you so much for celebrating with us today. Without those of you who visit and comment on our posts, Kitties Blue and I would have no reason to be here.

🎂 KIZMET TURNS FIVE ! 🎂

Awww Mondays

Celebrating Kizmet’s birthday seems purrfect for an Awww Monday. She is five years old today. Some of you may remember and some of you found out yesterday that Kizmet joined the Kitties Blue family during the COVID pandemic. She was Dad Tom’s and my Christmas gift to ourselves. I saw her photo on PetFinder and fell in love. Her name was Janet, which seemed like kismet and led to her name being changed to Kizmet.

Kizmet is the friendliest cat we have ever had as part of our family. (Mau comes in a super close second!) She absolutely loves everybody she meets and is not afraid of anything. A few weeks ago, we entertained a friend of a friend, whom Dad Tom and I had never met. Kizmet inspected her and then curled up in her lap for a long nap. She has hopped into the handbags of friends and would have gladly traveled home with them. She is a master at giving kisses and making biscuits on her dad and I until we cry, “uncle!”

Kizmet is a bit sneaky, however, and has escaped on several occasions. She has never left the yard and always comes back inside. A locator is on her collar … just in case she ever gets out and decides to wander. She would probably go home with anyone who invited her to do so. That would be a tragic loss for us.

And, of course, Kizmet is our renowned super meowdel.

Let’s Celebrate

First we have a card.

A 5th birthday card for a grey cat named Kizmet on Awww Mondays.

Our expert baker, Cooper Murphy, managed to make a cake for her. Unfortunately his paws were raw by the time he had a satisfactory one, which came from Wixel. He will explain his difficulties in a separate post.

Grey cat with green eyes atop a aqua and lavender birthday cake.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without some kind of noms and beverages. Kizmet specifically requested that we have the yummy nip ice cream again.

A collage of champagne, berry iced tea, ice cream and grilled shrimp.

I definitely will be giving Kizmet some toys from Cat Lady Box that I have secreted away before she could grab and claim them. Probably some fresh nip will be handed out to all the kitties.

Once Kizmet is finished partying with you all, she will be heading over to Comedy Plus to participate in the Awww Mondays blog hop. If you would like to do the same, click on the Awww badge.

Sparks

I wanted a Spark for today that held some relationship to birthdays. I get most of my Sparks from BrainyQuote, so I searched there under the topic of birthday. The Spark I found and liked was under that heading. Though, it doesn’t directly relate to birthdays; I decided it was a good one for today.

Several colors of leaves on an ombre background with the quote, "You take away all the other luxuries in life, and if you can make someone smile and laugh, you have given the most special gift: happiness," by Brad Garrett.

Kizmet brings use so much happiness. What could me more appropriate?

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

Astrid & Angel Sampy

I could not let this day go by without mentioning that it would also have been Astrid and Angel Sampy’s Ninth Wedding Anniversary. That Sampy has gone to the Rainbow Bridge is truly heartbreaking. They deserved many more years together.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow is the special day when Periwinkle and Stinky set out on a new adventure. Stinky has shared with me what he has planned, and I think you will want to join them for this particular adventure. I know Periwinkle and Stinky will be looking for you. Please don’t let our sweet tabbies down.

Thanks for joining us today.
