Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
After missing this fun event for a couple of weeks, I am pleased to be joining Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats) for their poetry challenge. They provide and inspiration photo (which is below) and participants write a poem to accompany it.

Doggie Dispute
Get your snout out of my bowl.
You are such an @$$hole.
I saw you lick your bowl clean.
Stealing my food now is plain mean.
I’m not a food gobbler like you;
I like to savor my yummy doggie stew.
If you don’t back off I’ll bite your ear
and not shed even a single tear.
Now look what you have done—
distracted me and my food is gone!
That stupid puppy, that has come to stay,
ate every little bit and ran away.
With two of you stealing every morsel,
I will never get another mouthful!

I apologize if I have offended anyone with the use of the word @$$hole. It just seemed appropriate in this instance.
Angel Sammy is the official poet at Two Spoiled Cats. He transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. He is one of the best poets we know. So, please head over to Two Spoiled Cats and check out his poem. You can find it by clicking on the poetry badge. While visiting, check out the inspiration photo for next week and join us in writing some poetry.
Thankful Thursday
Each week the kitties and I try to share thankfuls and then join Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop.
Tuesday was the 20th Anniversary of Mimi Lenox’s Blog4Peace. As Kitties Blue and I do each year, we created a Peace Globe and submitted it to the initiative through e-mail. In return, I received the following e-mail from Mimi for which I am extremely grateful:
Dear Janet,
All I can say is WOW! The colors are amazing and it just radiates love. So beautiful. I think it’s one of the most beautiful peace globes I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much for sending it in and I hope many others will see it and be inspired. Peace and love to you and yours,
Mimi Lenox

Here are some additional thankfuls for this week.
We have survived three weeks of kitten care. They are growing quickly, and we have ordered a larger enclosure for them. I am thankful to be weaning them off of bottle feedings; though, I wish they wouldn’t walk through the dishes of kitten pate mixed with kitten replacement formula.
When I fell on my newest new knee a week ago, I did not break any bones or loosen any of the new hardware for which I am absolutely thankful. I do wish, however, that I had not set my rehab back, which I did.
Periwinkle and Stinky announced last week that they received a Muse Medallion from the Cat Writers’ Association for their adventure: “The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky: Part CCXX – National Answer Your Cat’s Question Day.” Of course, they are thankful.
I also received a Muse for the Written Article Product Review: “Best Cat Toy for All Ages.” I am both thankful and delighted.
Of course, neither the kitties nor I have received these yet. We will share when we do.
Kitties Blue and I thank each of you who read and comment on our posts and join the Sunday Selfies blog hop.
Finally, I am thankful for my friends. I would not survive without their love and support.

On October 8, 2019, I created and introduced two cartoon cats, Stinky and Periwinkle (the alter egos of Sawyer and his girlfriend Noelle [
Sometimes events in our universe align themselves purrfectly, and that is what happened on July 21, 2021, when I brought Sawyer home after his three-and-a-half week walkabout. Sawyer found an opportunity to escape from the house on June 26. During the time he was missing, he managed to travel .9 miles from home and end up at the exact house from where Dad Tom and I adopted our very first cat, Skooter, in the mid-80s. So, we now celebrate two anniversaries every July 21st.
