Awww Mondays/Sparks
I have combined these two things this week. The photo and the Spark only slightly match up, but I selected the photo in order to tell you about Raleigh’s escapade of Caturday.
Where to begin is the question? Spark or Raleigh’s story? I vote for Spark.
I wanted a Spark that represented having fun, which Raleigh is definitely having in this photo. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything about fun. However, having fun and being happy, I think go paw-in-paw, so that is why I selected this Spark.
The author, William Ewart Gladstone, was born in Liverpool to Scottish parents and lived from 1809 to 1898. He was a British statesman and Liberal politician. Gladstone served four non-consecutive terms as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, between 1868 and 1894. He also served as Chancellor of the Exchequer four times, for total of more than 12 years.
Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”
Raleigh’s Disappearance
In yesterday’s post, “Airplane Ears Selfie & a Good-Bye,” I mentioned that I had spent most of Caturday searching for Raleigh.
Caturday morning, Dad Tom announced he had found the door to the guest room open and had chased Lisbeth out. He also reported that he had counted noses, and Raleigh was missing. He might or might not have been in the guest room. Unfortunately for me, Dad Tom was on his way out of town, leaving me to locate a cat that doesn’t want to come near me.
I could not leave the guest room door open even if he was hiding there. If I did, within moments eight cats would be making themselves comfortable.
Our house is 112 years old and has a myriad of hidey holes. After living here for 40 years with a total of 22 cats, I have discovered nearly all the nooks and crannies big enough for a cat. I made three complete circuits of the house, including the guest room, as well as the catio and upper deck and still had not located Raleigh. With him missing for about five hours, my frustration had reached head-exploding level when I headed back to the guest room. I keep rolls of upholstery fabric and other items in plastic storage containers under the guest room bed. I had moved these items around on each circuit and searched under the bed with flashlight in hand, but had not seen him there.
Thankfully, the fourth time was the charm. My light caught a pair of eyes under the bed. That was the easy part. Getting Raleigh to come out and exit the room was the challenge. Leaving the door open, I went around the opposite side of the bed, grabbed one of roles of fabric and gave Raleigh a shove on the butt! He shot out from under the bed, out the door and down the stairs.
So that’s how I spent my Caturday. Whoop-dee-do!
Raleigh will be heading over to the Comedy Plus to join the Awww Mondays blog hop. To do the same, click on the Awww badge.
