Sparks

It seemed appropriate to share a Spark this week from Dolly Parton. Most of her memorable quotes are amusing, but the one I selected is appropriate for me and probably many of you as well.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

I believe today’s Spark is totally self-explanatory.

This Spark has been attributed to Dr. Seuss; though, there is no direct evidence supporting his ever having said it. It has also been attributed to American businessman, bestselling author, columnist and motivational speaker, Harvey Mackay, and he has used it in speeches, but it may or may not have originated by him.

As cats, siblings Audrey and Raleigh, share the same positive and constructive thought: Catch the birdies. Unfortunately for them, they will be unable to follow through. But as humans we can. So much is happening these days that is neither positive nor constructive for our country or for us as citizens. But it is important that we stay positive and support those who have constructive ideas for making our lives and country better. Ideally, that would be our elected officials, but … well, you know how that is going! (I feel fortunate, however, that Virginia and our city do have some intelligent politicians working in a positive way for their constituents.)
