SUGAR PLUM FAIRY KITTEN ART

Caturday Art

Okay, so I know what you’re thinking…those crazy people have adopted another kitten. That does sound like fun, especially with all the fascinating holiday decorations, but sadly we have not added any new felines to the Kitties Blue crew.

What I am sharing today are two different art renderings of kitten Fiona. Yesterday marks seven years since she flew away to the Rainbow Bridge. My mind cannot seem to process the fact that she has been gone that long. She was and will always remain one of my special heart kitties.

Here are two different versions of art, both created using the Sugar Plum Fairy effect from Painnt.

Sugar Plum Fairy kitten: Grey kitten in an art rendering in a gold frame with an aqua and gold snowflake.

Sugar Plum Fairy kitten: Art rendering of kitten in shades of green and purple in a multi-toned green frame.

I couldn’t decide which version I liked best, which is why I am sharing both. If you have a favorite, let me know in the comments.

I made a puzzle from each. The first is quite easy. The second is a tad more challenging.

Another Angel

It was another blow when the day after Fiona left us (seven years ago today), our dear friend, Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats), followed her. It gave me some comfort to know they were together. I know that Mom Pam and Dad David miss Sammy just as much today as they did the day he got his angel wings.

At Blog Paws 2017, I made memorial flags for each of them. Sammy’s came out great. Fiona’s…not so much. You can see them both on the post, “Glimpses from Blog Paws 2017.” Those flags were meant to be displayed at each future Blog Paws Conference. Unfortunately, there was only one conference after that in 2018. Where those flags are today, I have no idea. I am sending love and warm hugs today to Pam and David.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

It is hard to believe that only five Sundays remain until 2024. New Year’s Eve actually falls on Sunday this year, so our last selfies of the year will be on the last day of the year. I’m not trying to get ahead of myself. I am just wondering how another year of our lives has slipped away so quickly.

Anyhoo, it’s time to get a selfie snapped for tomorrow’s hop. A couple of Kitties Blue have taken selfies this week, so it will be up to me to see who gets to be your host. Whoever it is, I know they’ll be looking forward to you joining them. Hope to see you there either tomorrow or anytime through Thursday.

Thanks for dropping by today. Have a meowvolous Caturday.

MISTY MAY’S FINAL PHOTOS & A SPARK

Awww Mondays

Tuxedo cat, Misty May is lying on the bed with extra large, ginger, tabby cat in her final photos before passing.

For the Awww Mondays blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus, I am sharing the final two photos of Misty May. They were taken the day before she received her wings. I had no idea they would be her last photos.

If you’d like to join Cooper Murphy and Misty May on the blog hop, click on the Awww badge.

Sparks

When I heard about the death of Suzanne Somers yesterday, I wanted to find a Spark from her. Today would have been her 77th birthday. So, like Misty May, she died just short of her birthday.

I did find a quote I liked from her for today’s Spark. It’s a bit of a run-on sentence, but I believe still meaningful.

A graphic of a silhouette of a woman in orange, yellow, red and burgundy with the quote, "What I really need is for people to know…We all have creativity in us and we all are multi-dimensional and we are all interested in a lot of things and that women are fabulous. We can handle a lot of things" from Suzanne Somers.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

It’s time again for our two fun-loving tabbies, Periwinkle & Stinky, to takeoff on another adventure. Stinky has it all planned out and has shared with me. I really wish I could join he and Periwinkle, as this is going to be a great one! That means you’ll want to be here tomorrow. I know the kitties will be looking for you, so don’t forget to pop on over.

ANOTHER AUTUMN SELFIE & REMEMBERING BRIAN

Sunday Selfies: Week #478

autumn selfie remembering: Tuxedo cat portrait selfiein a fall leaf embellished frame.

Lisbeth is the third of the Kitties Blue to share her new portrait as her Sunday Selfie. And in keeping with our recent theme, she had me frame it for autumn. She hopes you like it.  Lisbeth, however, is not the star of today’s post. That honor goes to Brian.

Remembering Brian

Like many others, Brian was one of the first cats we met when Kitties Blue and I began this blog in 2012. And when we started Sunday Selfies, Brian hopped on in week two, and either he or one of his housemates has been here every week. He was a handsome, kind and  gentle man cat. All who knew him loved him and that includes me and all the Kitties Blue. We knew Brian’s health wasn’t good, but it still was a shock when he left us for the Bridge. We are fortunate to have known Brian and will never forget him.

autumn selfie remembering: Tabby Cat selfie in a sparkly frame with a magenta bow and a rainbow with the words, "Brian," and "You'll remain in our hearts always!"

Rest in Peace, Brian. I know you are with your fur family members who went before you and many other kitties who knew and loved you. And I know you will be waiting for those you left behind, including your wonderful humans, Terry and Celesta.

Hopping Time

We’d love for you to join us today as we remember Brian. But, if you can’t hop until later in the week, that’s okay. The hop is open through Thursday. And, if you can’t hop at all, Kitties Blue are totally fine with that. Just stop in to say, “hi,” and remember our friend, Brian.

Kitties Blue and I thank you for joining us today. Your friendship is what keeps us going day after day and week after week.

REMEMBERING MISTY MAY WITH THANKFULS

With apologies to Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats) I have decided to forego writing a poem this week in order to concentrate on thankfuls.

Thankful Thursday

Most of my thankfuls this week revolve around Misty May.

REMEMBERING THANKFULS: TUXEDO CAT IN AN AQUA LACE FRAME WITH A BUTTERFLY.

I am thankful Misty May spent her last day in my arms both before and after she passed. She deserved that consideration, comfort and love.

Dad Tom and I are thankful for all the kind comments and condolences left on the Sunday Selfies/Angels Birthday post, “Happy Nineteenth Birthday Angels.”

We also are thankful for the beautiful badges created for Misty May by Ann from Zoolatry, Ingrid from Meezer’s Mews & Terrieristical Woofs and Pam from Two Spoiled Cats. We know these take lots of time, creativity and work. That these wonderful friends did this for Misty May is so thoughtful and special.

Ann, Thank You!

Ingrid, Thank You!

Pam, Thank You!

REMEMBERING THANKFULS: Two tuxedo cat heads in front of a multi-colored hearts and wearing blue wings and halos.

I particularly appreciate that Ingrid and Pam included Mau.

I am thankful that Misty May is in her final resting place. She is in one of the flower beds with Madison and MacKenzie. I will be making her a special marker.

Dr. McBain, Kitties Blue current vet, who was recommended by our beloved Dr. Neel, is researching alternative methods for administering Sawyer’s medications, for which Dad Tom and I are extremely grateful. As many of you know, Sawyer is not very good about eating his meals due to the medications. He has had a seizure each of the past three weeks.

Finally, I am thankful that I am 0.6 pounds from reaching my goal weight thanks to Noom. With Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas looming on the horizon, I am thinking I may try to take off a few extra pounds now. I do not want to begin this entire process again when 2024 rolls around.

Thanks for dropping by to see us today.

I am joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop. If you’d like to participate, click on his badge.

🎂 HAPPY NINETEENTH BIRTHDAY ANGELS 🌈

Together Again

On July 17, three years ago, our sweet Mau left us. On Friday, the 15th, his sisfur, Misty May, joined him at 2:45 p.m. He missed his 16th birthday by two months. Misty May missed her 19th by two days.

Misty May started going down hill the day after her Tuesday vet visit. By Thursday evening, it was evident that she would not make it until today. I put her on my pillow at bedtime, which was her place, and she slept there until she moved in between Dad Tom and me, which had always been Mau’s spot. Friday morning she was unable to stand. I held her all day both before and after she passed. She was in my arms when she flew away.

So today, Dad Tom and I wish these two special angels a happy birthday. I hope you will enjoy these photos of them as kittens. They were almost eight when I started this blog, and you can find dozens of photos of them here as adults.

They were both truly loved and will be missed and remembered always.

Sunday Selfies: Week #474

Please join our angels, Mau and Misty May, on this hop and share your selfie with the eight remaining Kitties Blue and all your other friends.

Thank you for stopping by today to say, “good-bye,” to our two beautiful angels. Also, thanks for following, commenting and supporting us. We truly appreciate your friendship.

I will be taking the day off tomorrow, but Periwinkle and Stinky will be here on Tuesday for Meow Like a Pirate Day.

RAINBOW BRIDGE REMEMBRANCE DAY 2023

Kitties Blue Angels + Two

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day was created in 2015 by Deb Barnes from The Chronicles of Zee & Zoey in honor and remembrance of her cat, Mr. Jazz. On this day, bloggers remember their pets that have become angels and flown off to the Rainbow Bridge. I am thankful that no Kitties Blue left us in the past year.

I am, however, remembering the 13 Kitties Blue who watch over us as well as Mau’s wife, Allie, and Lisbeth’s boyfriend, Charles. They were all deeply loved and will never be forgotten. I also remember all those angel kitties, woofies and other pets of our friends and fellow bloggers.

All these beautiful cats will be popping over to Comedy Plus for the Awww Mondays blog hop. If you’d like to join them there, click on the badge below.

Sparks

In keeping with the theme of today’s post,  I have two Sparks about angels, as I could not decide which I liked best.

A Rainbow background with two quotes about angels, one from NLE Choppa and one from Anton Chekhov

I like to believe that those diamonds are all our angel loved ones, including our pets, looking down and watching over us. That’s why I think these two quotes are the perfect companions.

It’s time again for our two fun-loving tabbies, Periwinkle & Stinky, to take-off on another adventure. Periwinkle is responsible for planning their adventure this week. So, in order to join in the excitement, you’ll need to stop in at her blog, Friends Furever tomorrow. Adventures are always more fun with lots of friends coming along, which means they’ll be looking for you. Please don’t let them down.

Thanks for joining us today and remembering our angels with us.

Looking Back

I have not shared a Looking Back post with you the past couple of weeks. I do have one today from September 3, 2012, and it is super short. It will probably take less than a minute for you to read it, so please check it out. Click on the title, “Cat = Lily,” to go there. I hope if you enjoy it, you’ll leave a comment.

I want to thank those who have already commented after receiving notice of the re-post.

Thanks for dropping in on us today!

FRIENDS, ANGELS & CATTITUDE

Sparks

Last week when I posted a Spark about angels on the anniversary of Mau’s passing, I indicated that I had discovered several quotes referencing angels that I would be sharing in the future. I have one of those today. Keeping with the theme, I have selected another of the Kitties Blue angels to present it.

friends angels cattitude - Photo of a calico cat with the following quote, "If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give," from George MacDonald.

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll recognize Lily Olivia. She left for the Bridge in January, 2018, just short of her 19th birthday.

I love my friends and would do anything for them, so this Spark meant more to me than just the fact that it mentioned angels.

The author was unfamiliar to me, so I suspect he may be to you as well. George MacDonald was a Scottish poet, author and clergyman who lived from 1824 to 1905. MacDonald graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1845 with a degree in chemistry and physics and received his theological training for the Congregational ministry at Highbury College. He is considered to be the founding father of modern fantasy writing.

Awww Mondays

Lily Olivia was a character with more cattitude than an entire clowder of calicos. But she definitely was awwdorable. She’ll be taking part in Sandee’s Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. If you would like to participate, click on her badge below.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

It’s time again for our fun-loving tabbies, Periwinkle & Stinky, to take-off on another adventure. You can catch up with them tomorrow right here. Stinky has planned something really fun, and they always enjoy their adventures even more when you join them. So, they’ll be looking for you tomorrow.

Thanks for joining us today.

ANOTHER ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION

Sunday Selfies: Week #466

This is not our usual Sunday Selfies post. We actually have two selfies today of two special angels.

Mau & Allie’s Seventh Anniversary

Here are the lovebirds.

Allie & Mau Anniversary: Angel Cats Allie (white and grey Birman cat) and Angel Mau (tuxedo cat) celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary with heart shaped portraits .

Traditionally I make some collages for them on their anniversary. As they have selfies, I made only one this year.

Allie Mau Anniversary: Collage featuring five photos of a tuxedo cat and grey and white Birman cat in various celebratory situations.

These two cats are so missed by Dad Tom and me and Allie’s mom Sharon. I know many others loved them as well. As long as this blog continues, I will remember them here.

As most of Allie and Mau’s wedding party as well as many other friends are now at the Rainbow Bridge with them, we know they’ll be celebrating there. Mau was the first baker in the family, teaching Cooper Murphy everything he knew. So I am certain Mau will have created the purrfect confection for their celebration. We hope you won’t feel too badly that we have foregone the festivities, as we will be back with another huge party on Wednesday, July 26, when Audrey and Raleigh will be celebrating their first Gotcha Day.

Hopping Time

Though the current Kitties Blue and I didn’t post a new selfie of one of them, we all look forward to seeing one of each of you. If you cannot post today, it’s not a problem. The hop remains open through Thursday. If you’ve never joined in the fun previously, we’d love to have you participate.

As always, we wish you an easy Sunday and thank you for your support and friendship.

MAU: THREE YEARS AN ANGEL

Sparks

Three years ago today our very special cat, Mau(ricio), received his angel wings after a short, undiagnosed illness. All his blood work was normal, and our veterinarian could not find anything really wrong with him. But he had lost weight and was not acting like himself. If you missed or would like to reread the original post about his passing, click on the title, “💖 Until We Meet Again 💖“.

I wanted a Spark about angels, which I totally believe in, as I have met one. I found several that “spoke” to me and plan to eventually share each of them. The one I selected for today is from Anton Chekhov.

Portrait of a tuxedo cat with the following quote from Anton Chekhov, "We shall find peace. We shall hear angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds."

I believe those diamonds (stars) in the sky are our loved ones (humans and pets) who have passed. They are there watching over us always.

Mau was a wonderful cat who loved his fursibs, his wife Allie, Dad Tom and me. He was a comedian and cozy companion and remains in our hearts and thoughts. Dad Tom and I speak fondly of him often.

Awww Mondays

There’s no doubt that Mau was an awww-adorable cat. So this special angel will be taking part in Sandee’s Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. If you would like to participate, click on her badge below.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

It’s time again for our fun-loving tabbies, Periwinkle & Stinky, to take-off on another adventure. You can catch up with them tomorrow over at Friends Furever. It is Periwinkle’s turn to select what they are going to do. Whatever it is, you know the two have more fun when you join them. So, they’ll be looking for you tomorrow.

Thanks for joining us today.
