LOVE OF COUNTRY & CAT HOUSE DESTRUCTION

Sparks

A red and blue background with stars and fireworks for Independence Day with the following quote from Cory Booker, "Patriotism is love of country. But you can't love your country without loving your countrymen and countrywomen. We don't always have to agree, but we must empower each other, we must find the common ground, we must build bridges across our differences to pursue the common good."

I found this quote and thought it perfect as we celebrate Independence Day tomorrow. Our country is currently embroiled in so much unrest and violence, and we citizens need to come together and work together to set things right. This is not the country I grew up in and not the one I want to see today’s children come to think of as normal.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

Awww Mondays

On June 17, I wrote about the destruction of the Kitties Blue cardboard houses in “Audrey’s Bubble Foam Art.” One of them has since been recycled, as it was almost totally destroyed and useless. The final house has taken quite a beating from Audrey and Raleigh. Most mornings I find it flattened. Last night it was flattened and shoved under the dresser by Raleigh. Here Kizmet and Audrey admire Audrey’s handiwork of toppling it over.

Kizmet and Audrey will be joining the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. You also can participate by clicking on the Awww badge.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

It’s time again for our fun-loving tabbies, Periwinkle & Stinky, to take-off on another adventure. You can catch up with them tomorrow over at Friends Furever. It is Periwinkle’s turn to select what they are going to do. Whatever it is, you know the two have more fun when you join them. So, they’ll be looking for you tomorrow.

Thanks for joining us today.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2022 SPARK

Independence Day 2022 Spark: Quote from post body from Cavell on a red, white and blue, stars and stripes background.

The author of today’s quote was not an American, but none of us, regardless of nationality, should hold hatred or bitterness in our hearts.

Edith Louisa Cavell was a British nurse. During World War I, Cavell saved the lives of soldiers from both sides without discrimination and helped some 200 Allied soldiers escape from German-occupied Belgium. She was arrested under martial law and accused of treason. Cavell was found guilty by a court-martial and sentenced to death. Despite international pressure for mercy, she was shot by a German firing squad on October 12, 1915, at age 49. Her execution received worldwide condemnation.

The night before her execution is when she said, “Patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone.”

Your favorite cartoon tabbies, Periwinkle and Stinky, will be taking their next adventure tomorrow. These two comical and fun-loving youngsters visit all types of interesting places and have oodles of fun when they’re together. One of the best things is that they enjoy taking you along with them, so please plan to meet them right here tomorrow!

Sunday Selfies: Week # 411

It was fine with me when Mom said I would be hosting Sunday Selfies today. And I was even okay when she said I would probably dress up my selfie for Independence Day. However, I think she went way overboard.

When a cat is as handsome as I am, he does not need to have his photo messed with in this way. I do apologize for snoozing during my selfie, but I am certain you don’t mind too much about that.

Though Mom made a puzzle of Misty May for you yesterday, she decided to create yet another one for today. I think she was trying to make up for botching my selfie. Please do not feel obligated to do the puzzle. Mom botched up that as well by making it ridiculously difficult.

Now its’s time for you to share your selfie with us. If your human decided to dress up your photo, I hope s/he used better judgment than mine. Fancy or not, it doesn’t matter. My fursibs, all your friends and I cannot wait to see your adorable face.

I do recommend you have a super easy Sunday, as you know both tonight and tomorrow night will get pretty noisy as the humans celebrate.

Thank you for being hoppers, followers, supporters and friends.

Purrs and paw-pats, Cooper Murphy

INDEPENDENCE DAY SELFIES 2021

Sunday Selfies: Week #359

Cooper Murphy was kind enough to pose for a selfie today, and let me dress it up for the 4th of July.

Independence Day

Sawyer — No News

The fireworks of the last few nights, and the ones that I know will continue for many nights to come, are yet another deterrent to our being able to locate Sawyer. Add the fact that, as of this morning, he will be eight days without any seizure meds, and our odds decrease even more.

Each day I try to do something constructive to help in securing Sawyer’s return. Yesterday I made this two-sided sign for our front yard.

Though we have been putting up and handing out posters in our neighborhood, I wish I had thought of the sign a week ago, as we live on the most traveled street in our area.

Dad Tom and I appreciate everyone who has been purring and praying for Sawyer and sharing the Facebook and Instagram posts as well as those put out by the various lost pet organizations.

Hopping Time

Please join us for our Sunday Selfies blog hop and then enjoy your 4th of July celebrations. But if you aren’t vaccinated, don’t forget to wear your mask and social distance.

Many people and animals suffer injuries on the 4th of July due to humans’ mishandling fireworks. Please celebrate responsibly and stay safe today. Keep all pets inside in a quiet environment. The noise of fireworks can be quite stressful and frightening for our beloved fur children.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2020

Caturday Art

Calista Jo is here today representing all the Kitties Blue in wishing everyone a happy 4th of July. We realize none of us have the freedom and independence to which we are accustomed to enjoy the picnics, family gatherings, bar-b-ques or fireworks displays we would normally attend today. But if we are healthy that’s what is important. Our lives will eventually return to normal. Until then, we still have each other and this wonderful community. So, whatever your plans are today, stay safe and healthy.

I created today’s art using LunaPic.

Calista Jo is joining the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. To participate click on Athena’s badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Oh boy, Sunday again tomorrow. That means it is selfie day. We are always excited to see your selfies; though, as you know, none of us get excited about having to take one. Rumor has it that Misty May will be here tomorrow, and we know she’d be excited to have you join her. So get those selfies taken. Then you can have a nice lazy and easy Sunday.

See you then!
