Mother’s Day

Sunday Selfies:Week #456

Today’s guest host is one of our resident squirrels. This is the look he gave Dad Tom when he was late filling the bird feeders.

He’s sharing a second photo today showing off his acrobatic prowess once the feeders were full.

Mr. Squirrel had a demand prior to agreeing to share his photos. He ordered me to create a puzzle of him showing off his acrobatics. Hope you enjoy completing it.

Hopping Time

Kitties Blue are hopping with happiness, as they dodged, for the second week in a row, having to take any selfies. They hope those of you who visit will not be too disappointed that they are taking another week off. One of them will be here tomorrow for Awww Mondays.

Since today is Mother’s Day, we know many of you will be busy celebrating your moms by giving them extra love, cuddles and purrs. So, we’ll understand if you can’t get here today. The hop remains open through Thursday.

Thank you for being our followers and friends.

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

Sunday Selfies: Week #403

mother's day selfies of ginger cat

Being a bit of a suck up, I volunteered to do the selfie today. After all, who wouldn’t want to be the one to wish our mom a Happy Mother’s Day. Without her we would be inconspicuous (at least to those who frequent the internet). Trust us, we are constantly up in our humans’ business at home and do not go unnoticed.

Anyhoo, the other Kitties Blue and I think we have a pretty terrific mom. So, of course, they wanted to get in on the celebration as well, and they made her a special card.

So, basically, we are giving you seven selfies today; though, mine is the only one that’s new!

Your Turn

Now that I have shared my selfie as well as those of my fursibs, I invite you to share your selfie with us and all your other friends. You have until Thursday to join the hop just in case you are busy celebrating your mom today.

All the Kitties Blue wish all the moms, whether their kids are humans or anipals, a super great day.

We’d also like to thank each of you for joining us today and continuing to support our blog.

Thankful Thursday

Each week we try to reflect on what has happened the past seven days and share those things for which we are thankful.

As this winter drags on, Kizmet and Misty May are thankful for Dad Tom’s warm lap.

Cooper Murphy is delighted and thankful he was able to spend the day before Valentine’s Day with his beautiful girlfriend, Canadian Cat Tyebe. They got all dressed up and attended the Hearts and Flowers dinner dance at Cat Scouts.

Dad Tom again tested negative for COVID, after his most recent exposure, for which we are most thankful.

As we are each week, everyone here at the Kitties Blue house, including the humans, are thankful for your friendship, support and kind comments. We do our best to keep you entertained, and we appreciate it every time you visit us.

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To participate post on you blog for what you are thankful and then click on his badge to join the hop.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

If it’s Thursday, it’s time for some poetry. Thoroughly Poetic Thursday is hosted by our pals, Angel Sammy and Teddy over at Two Spoiled Cats. They provide an inspiration photo, and participants provide a poem.

Here’s this week’s photo followed by my poem.

Danger Zone

Is this an antique store
Or a hoarder’s house—
This cluttered hodgepodge?
Buddha, fu dogs, Mickey Mouse,
Crystal chandeliers, Bakelite phones,
Clocks and vases of every
Color, shape and size—
A huge eclectic collection
With years of accumulated dust.
Just one sneeze could send down
An avalanche of tumbling stuff,
Burying the curious browser.
Treasures may be hidden among
This intriguing collection,
But I’ll stay on the sidewalk
Safe and sound, marveling at
This outrageous sight from afar.

After completing this poem, it crossed my mind that quirky shops like this often have a resident cat. In this instance, I certainly hope that isn’t true. With all the places to hide and the precarious placement of objects, I fear kitty would have a short life.

If you’d like to try writing some poetry, check out Two Spoiled Cats on Thursdays for the following week’s inspiration photo. And while you’re visiting, please read Angel Sammy’s poem. It is always terrific. You can click on the poetry badge to go there now.

Sunday Selfies: Week #352

Today we are wishing all moms, whether they have human children or animal children, a happy and purrfect Mother’s Day surrounded by family and loved ones. Of course, at the top of the list for us is our mom.  We think she is pretty special, and so we made a collage for her with all our selfies, and we put her right in the middle.

Mother's Day 2021

Yes, that little girl in our collage is our mom. Obviously, we didn’t know her then, but we thought it would be fun to show this photo of her as a 22-month-old toddler. We hope she doesn’t mind.

This being Kizmet’s first Mother’s Day, she actually got Mom a gift. She gave it (a dead sparrow) to Mom yesterday. Sometimes birdies get into the catio from the upper deck, which is only partially screened. We don’t condone her actions, but Kizmet was only doing what comes naturally to kitties.

It may be Mother’s Day, but it is also our Sunday Selfies blog hop. If you’d like to include your mom in your selfie or post one of just her, that would be cool, but totally not required. And don’t forget, you can join the hop anytime through Thursday.

Mother’s Day Giveaway

On Thursday Mom reviewed the new book, Destiny’s Children.  It launches today and would make the purrfect gift for your mom and yourself. An “insiders” special sale begins today and continues throughout the month. The new book will be on sale for $10 with book one, They Call Me Destiny, on sale for $5. Shipping and handling for either book is $3. Prices include sales tax. Visit Books2Cherish to purchase your copy.

Additionally, Mom will be giving away her pre-publication copy to one lucky reader through a random drawing. To have the opportunity to be included in the drawing, leave a comment on the original post, “Fall in Love with Destiny & Her Kittens.” Your comment must be posted prior to Wednesday, May 12, at 5 p.m. EDT.

Thanks for joining us today. You all are so important to us as well as the success of this blog.

Sunday Selfies: Week #300

I feel honored to be your host for Mother’s Day and the 300th post of our Sunday Selfies blog hop.

Mother's Day 2020

Of course, I am representing all Kitties Blue in wishing our special mom and all moms (including my wonderful mother-in-law Sharon) a Happy Mother’s Day. My furblings and I colored a special bouquet for them as well.

Mother's Day 2020

It is now time for you to share your selfies. I know those of you with moms will make them very happy if you make your selfie extra special. Remember, all anipals are welcome, regardless of species, and it is not necessary to post on Sunday to join the hop. It remains open through Thursday. If you could post our selfies badge or link back to The Cat on My Head, we’d be most appreciative.

And, please, don’t forget to give your mom lots of extra love, purrs and cuddles today. Showering her with even more attention than you normally would for Mother’s Day can only work in your favor when it comes to treat time.

Purrs and paw-pats, Mau (with love and kisses to Allie)

p.s. We just found out about this graphic from the Cat Blogosphere.  Thank you!

Sunday Selfies: Week #196

I am here today, representing all the Kitties Blue, to wish our mom and all moms a Happy Mother’s Day. It doesn’t matter if you have human children or furry ones, you are special and important. As the main nurturers and caregivers, you should have more than one day each year set aside for us to honor you. But as this is the day the had been set aside…

I was actually sitting in our mom’s lap when I took today’s selfie. So, it seemed appropriate for today.

Mau gave me permission to repaint his poem for mom that he wrote a few years ago.

Mau’s Mother’s Day Poem

My mom is patient.
My mom is kind.
My mom loves me,
Even when I don’t mind.

My mom feeds me.
My mom gives me treats.
She rubs my belly,
And she kisses my feets.

My mom thinks only of me
When she helps me with Scouts,
And she doesn’t get mad,
Even when I pouts.

I love you Mom.
What more can I say?
You are the bestest mom
Each and everyday.
