DAD’S WARM LAP THANKFUL

Thankful Thursday

Each week we try to reflect on what has happened the past seven days and share those things for which we are thankful.

As this winter drags on, Kizmet and Misty May are thankful for Dad Tom’s warm lap.

Cooper Murphy is delighted and thankful he was able to spend the day before Valentine’s Day with his beautiful girlfriend, Canadian Cat Tyebe. They got all dressed up and attended the Hearts and Flowers dinner dance at Cat Scouts.

Dad Tom again tested negative for COVID, after his most recent exposure, for which we are most thankful.

As we are each week, everyone here at the Kitties Blue house, including the humans, are thankful for your friendship, support and kind comments. We do our best to keep you entertained, and we appreciate it every time you visit us.

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To participate post on you blog for what you are thankful and then click on his badge to join the hop.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

If it’s Thursday, it’s time for some poetry. Thoroughly Poetic Thursday is hosted by our pals, Angel Sammy and Teddy over at Two Spoiled Cats. They provide an inspiration photo, and participants provide a poem.

Here’s this week’s photo followed by my poem.

Danger Zone

Is this an antique store
Or a hoarder’s house—
This cluttered hodgepodge?
Buddha, fu dogs, Mickey Mouse,
Crystal chandeliers, Bakelite phones,
Clocks and vases of every
Color, shape and size—
A huge eclectic collection
With years of accumulated dust.
Just one sneeze could send down
An avalanche of tumbling stuff,
Burying the curious browser.
Treasures may be hidden among
This intriguing collection,
But I’ll stay on the sidewalk
Safe and sound, marveling at
This outrageous sight from afar.

After completing this poem, it crossed my mind that quirky shops like this often have a resident cat. In this instance, I certainly hope that isn’t true. With all the places to hide and the precarious placement of objects, I fear kitty would have a short life.

If you’d like to try writing some poetry, check out Two Spoiled Cats on Thursdays for the following week’s inspiration photo. And while you’re visiting, please read Angel Sammy’s poem. It is always terrific. You can click on the poetry badge to go there now.
