MAU HELPS WITH FRIENDLY FILL-INS

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #91

Friendly Fill-Ins badgeEach Friday we join our friends, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader) and Ellen (15 And Meowing) for their Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop. They each select two sentences for us to complete. I usually fill-in the sentences but this week Mau and the entire gang of Kitties Blue helped with the task. All of us used teal italics for our completions.

If you’d like to participate in Friendly Fill-Ins, Annie and Ellen post them on their websites each Thursday. To join the blog hop, which takes place at McGuffy’s Reader on Fridays, click on the Friendly Fill-Ins badge.

1. Trust must be earned. We have an inside joke at our house: If someone says, “Trust me,” it is a pretty good sign you shouldn’t.

2. Kitties Blue: I We would protest if Mom and Dad brought in another cat to live with us. Eight IS enough!

3. Mau: I have been in love with Allie since our first date. On November 5, 2013, I asked her to be my girlfriend. I asked her to marry me on April 29, 2016. It was on her birthday. We married on July 23, 2016, in a beautiful ceremony at Cat Scouts.

4. Right now, I am praying that once Cooper Murphy is done with treatment, we have seen the end of the eye “icks,” and that Misty May’s eye ulcer will be improved or gone when she goes to see Dr. Neel this afternoon.

We’ll see you again tomorrow with some Caturday Art.

LILY OLIVIA, OPUS, BILL THE CAT & NEWLYWEDS

 Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 12

1. One quirk I have is going through the house turning off lights. I often don’t even look in a room. I just flip the switch and move on. More often than not, I’ll hear a blurted out, “Hey,” as Tom lets me know he’s actually in the room and hasn’t just left the light on and walked away.

2. My favorite comic strip is Bloom County, and I hate that it is no longer written. Opus the penguin was the funniest, and he had a crazy kitty friend, Bill the Cat.

Me kissing Lily on her head as she sits in my lap.

3. I am really happy when one of the Kitties Blue lets me give her kisses and responds in kind. Usually only Lily Olivia and Misty May will return my kisses. Lisbeth refuses all kisses.

4. If I could go anywhere on a road trip, I would go to Savannah, GA, (after the hot summer weather abates). That’s where Mau took Allie on their honeymoon, and I am quite jealous, never having been there.

FriendlyFillInsWe are participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by 15 And Meowing‘s, Ellen, and McGuffy’s Reader’s, Annie. This is a blog hop, and you can add your link on Annie’s blog.

If you missed yesterday’s post, “A Grand Affair,” I encourage you to click on the link below. Mauricio shared another of his poems and several more photos from Allie’s and his honeymoon. They truly are a sweet couple.

Thanks for being our followers. We’ll see you tomorrow for Caturday Art.

A GRAND AFFAIR

Everyone’s favorite blog hog has taken over our post again today. He’s written another poem for his Best Man Sammy‘s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday. Each week it is suggested that a letter of the alphabet be used as inspiration. This week’s letter is “G.” Mau thinks that is the purrfect letter for a poem about Allie‘s and his wedding last Saturday. It also gives him the opportunity to share a few more photos of that special day as well as of the honeymoon.

A Grand Affair

On Saturday I married the love of my life.
I cannot believe Allie is now my wife.
She was an absolute vision of Gorgeousness.
No Hollywood star could be more Glamorous.
But she wasn’t the only beauty of the day…
So was my sis Lisbeth when she caught the bouquet.
Her face lit up and she became downright Giddy.
She was indeed a totally happy kitty.
Allie and I’ve been away on our honeymoon,
But we’ll be back home and at Scouts very soon.
We’ll show more photos and tell you where we went,
And share some details of the joyful time we spent.
I am blessed to have a sweet and Generous wife
To whom I can give my love and spend my nine lives.

ROMANTIC WEDDING DAY ART

Caturday Art

Today’s wedding of Allie (Friends Furever) and Mau was my inspiration for today’s art. I wanted something romantic to represent their love and commitment. If you look closely, you’ll see that both are present in the photo. This photo of Allie is one of Mauricio’s very favorites.

Allie & Mau combine for a romantic Caturday Art creation.

This week I used PicMonkey exclusively and just a few steps to make the romantic work of art.

Mau will share wedding photos sometime next week.

This is our entry in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. You can submit some art of your own and/or view the other submissions by clicking on Athena’s Badge.

Sunday Selfies

With Mau and all the ladies being busy with the wedding today, we will be having guest hosts (a two-fur as we call it) for the hop tomorrow. These two are regular visitors to our house. That’s the only hint you get. You’ll just need to come by tomorrow to see who is here. We look forward to having you join us and encourage you to spread the word among your friends about this fun hop.

Blogoversary Giveaway

If you missed our Thursday post, we are celebrating our Fourth Blogoversary with a giveaway of goodies from the BlogPaws Conference. To have the opportunity to win the surprise package, leave a comment here by Monday, July 25, at 5 p.m. ET. The winner will be selected using Random.org.

Finally, I would like to apologize for the lack of visiting and commenting by Kitties Blue. What with our Fourth Blogoversary and the wedding, time has been at a premium. I promise we will get back to making regular visits next week. Thanks for understanding and sticking with us.

FRIENDLY FILL-INS & WEDDING INVITATION

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 11

Mauricio asked to do the fill-ins this week as Saturday is a special day for him: He and Allie (Friends Furever) will be married.

1. I wish I could afford to hire someone to fly me to Florida to be with my beloved (soon to be wife) Allie.
2. Zucchini is not something Allie and I will be serving at our wedding reception.
3. One Summertime memory I recall is the riverboat trip Allie and I took with Cat Scouts on August 11, 2014.  (Mau has included a photo from that trip as well as a ballad he wrote for the occasion.  He thought some of you who were not following us then would be interested.)
4. This Summer, (tomorrow to be exact) I am marrying the love of my life, Allie.

This is a blog hop hosted by Mom Ellen from 15AndMeowing and Mom Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. You can enter the hop on Annie’s blog.

Allie Scarlett and MAUverick reminisce prior to their wedding.

The Legend of MAUverick

This is the story of a purrported gunslinger and cardshark, MAUverick, and his beautiful and genteel girlfriend, Allie Scarlett. (She is not related to Austin Scarlett of Project Runway Fame but legend has it that all her gowns were designed by a distant relative named Miss Melanie. They were all hand-sewn by mice seamstresses.)

Getting back on track…legend has it that MAUverick could shoot the center heart out of the Ace of Hearts at a hundred paces. No photographic proof exists, so it remains a legend. All reports say, however, that he never  drew his gun on any human or cat as he was a peace loving man-cat.

Before meeting Allie Scarlett, MAUverick traveled the Mississippi River on the paddle-wheeled boats playing poker and telling stories about his time in the Old West. Rumor abounds that MAUverick used to keep an ace or two up his sleeve, but this has never been proved. And it is known that he was not a cat of great wealth. Any money he won at cards was always donated to a worthy cat shelter of which there were many along the Mississippi.

Once he met the beautiful and charming Miss Allie Scarlett, he gave up his wandering ways. They settled in a modest cottage in New Orleans where they ran a kitty refuge and tended a garden of cat nip in their spare time. They were said to have lived happily ever after, well into old age, never letting a day go by without holding paws and sharing tender kisses.

The End

Inviting All Cat Scouts

Mau and Allie are inviting all Cat Scouts to their wedding. If you are a Scout but haven’t visited in a while, Cat Scouts has an all new and exciting look. Even if you are unable to attend the wedding, you need to go by and have a look. If you do want to attend the wedding, you must message either Denmother or Allie through Scout e-mail.

ASTRID ASSERTS HER TORTITUDE FOR SUNDAY SELFIES

Sunday Selfies: Week #99

Well, the boomers have already started here on Caturday night. Pffft. We had a patriotic post for Caturday and will have one tomorrow for the holiday. But today’s selfie has nothing to do with patriotism but rather love. That’s right, it’s another post about my marriage to Sampy.

Mom tried forever and ever to get me to take a special selfie to show off my wedding gift. Let’s just say that I was not cooperative. This is the collage she put together from the less than optimal photos. I am displaying my tortitude in the top one.

Astrid shows off her tortitude in her Sunday Selfies.

I’m guessing you probably can’t tell what Mom’s trying to get me to show off, so here’s a photo of the world’s most meowvolous gift EVER!

Astrid's blingy wedding gift from Sampson.

Check out that bling on the collar buckle and the S ♥ A. You can see a bit of my new collar in my three selfies.

Did you notice the ring setting atop the collar? That’s right…we had a double-ring ceremony. My ring says, Sampy ♥ Astrid, and Sampy’s says, Astrid ♥ Sampy. There are close-up photos below. I apologize for my mom’s less than stellar photography skills. She doesn’t know how to use Dad’s fancy equipment, and he is still away.

Astrid's wedding ring.

Mommy had the rings made so she and Mom Emily could wear them if they want. Mom has mine on right now, but when the new ID tag she has ordered for my collar arrives, she will hang the two together on the collar. Mom said that I probably won’t wear my blingy collar everyday as I have two other collars with ID tags. Mom found the collar I recently lost in Dad’s closet (of course, after she replaced it).

Mom has added Sampson to our The Felines page as he now is an official member of the family. She will get his vital statistics on the page very soon. I am now identified as Astrid Blue Hall on that page. To avoid confusion Mauricio, my sisfurs and I still will be known collectively as Kitties Blue.

So this may be my final post about Samy’s and my wedding. Allie and Mau are scheduled to be married at Cat Scouts on July 23. I suspect they soon will be getting all the attention.

Cat4-001This is week #99 of our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. We are a bit in shock that we are quickly going to reach two years of selfies. And that’s not all that’s coming up: our fourth blogoversary is later this month, and sometime before that, we will hit 1,000 posts. I’m not sure we can handle this much excitement. MOUSES!

Anyhoo, we hope you’ll join us for the blog hop and invite all your friends to hop on board. The link is below as is the code if you’d like to post the hop on your blog. If you decide to do so, please link back to The Cat on My Head and or display our badge. That will warm our furry little hearts and make Mom very happy.

One or more of us will be back tomorrow to share The Fourth will all our American friends.

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid with my undying love and oodles of kisses for my sweet Husband

WEDDING CEREMONY ART

We are entering Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art Blog Hop with an arty rendition of a photo of the bridal party and guests from Astrid’s and Sampson’s BlogPaws wedding. The original photo was shared on yesterday’s post and can be seen by clicking on the link at the bottom this page.

Arty rendition of Astrid's and Sampson's wedding created in Dreamscope using the Petals effect.

To create today’s art, I used the petals effect from Dreamscope and a frame from PhotoFaceFun. Even though Astrid looks a bit like a mummy due to her veil, I liked the colors and so decided to stick with this effect.

If you’d like to join us for Athena’s blog hop or see the other submissions, click on her badge.

 Sunday Selfie’s Blog Hop

Cat4-001We’ll be back tomorrow for week #98 of our blog hop. I’ll be posting from BlogPaws and will have a special selfie from the conference. Hope you’ll take the opportunity to not only join in but also to encourage your friends to hop along with Kitties Blue.

I’ll try my best to go live at the usual post time of 12:01 a.m. EDT. With Phoenix being three hours behind with reference to east coast time, I may be posting a bit later. Please don’t panic if the link is not available at the usual time. Just don’t forget to check back later and join us when you have the opportunity. The link always remains open for five days. Many thanks and see you tomorrow.

INTRODUCING THE NEWLYWEDS

Astrid’s & Sampy’s Wedding

Astrid and Sampy's Official Wedding Portrait

Astrid and Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles) were officially wed in a small ceremony yesterday at the BlogPaws Conference in Phoenix. The Pawparazzi were snapping photo after photo, but their official wedding portrait was created by Lorianne Miller (Four-Legged Furballs). I added the frame using PhotoFaceFun.

The wedding party and guests.

The wedding party and guests.

Rings and gifts were exchanged and vows made.

Astrid and Sampson will share additional photos sometime next week.

The new bride asked if she could complete the Friendly Fill-Ins for this week. How could I possibly refuse.

FriendlyFillInsThe Friendly Fill-Ins are four fun and easy statements to complete. Ellen of 15andmeowing provides the first two statements and the final two are from Annie at McGuffy’s Reader. This is a blog hop. You can add your link on Annie’s blog.

Here are week #7’s statements. Astrid’s completions are in teal italics.

1. My feelings get hurt when my sisfur, Misty May, chases and bullies me.

2. I am excited about now being married to the love of my life, Sampson (Sampy) Hall.

3. Astrid Blue first, then Astrid Blue Hall.

4. One time, I fell in love; that’s why I got married.

That’s all for now. I’ll be sharing more from BlogPaws tomorrow.

FLAT SELF HEADING TO BLOGPAWS CONFERENCE

Several Words from Astrid on Wednesday

Astrid says, "good-bye" to her flat self, who is traveling to the BlogPaws Conference.

Here I am watching out the door as flat Astrid leaves for the BlogPaws Conference where she and Sampy’s (Kitty Cat Chronicles) flat self will be marrying. I think it is totally bogus that the two of us don’t get to go in the furs and celebrate our own wedding. Pfffft!

I will be waiting anxiously for the humans to send photos home so I can see the festivities.

If you and/or your human(s) will be at the Conference, the wedding is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Look for my mom or Mom Emily to get your invitation. They will let you know the locale at that time.

Mom and Dad are supposed to arrive today at 10:45 a.m. Arizona time, but… Their flight connections are through Chicago, which is supposed to have rain, lighting, thunderstorms, hail and possibly even tornados. So, it could end up being a very long day (or more) for them.

We kitties will have our favorite nip- and treat-pusher, Chris, to take care of us. Even though I will be missing my own wedding, life will be good for Kitties Blue.

Mom will be reporting from BlogPaws for the remainder of the week.

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid
