TALI’S TOE BEANS & FILL-INS

Feline Friday

A white and calico kitten shows off her pink toe beans with one black dot.

Gibb’s has been sharing his toe beans with you quite often. Now, it is Tali’s turn. Though, Gibb’s beans are all pink; Tali has that one little black dot.

Tali will be participating in the Feline Friday blog hop hosted by messymimi’s meanderings. To join, click on the badge below.

Friendly Fill-Ins

The Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop is hosted each Friday by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). They publish the fill-in sentences on their blogs each Thursday. To participate in the hop, click on the badge at the left. I completed all the fill-ins this week without any help from Kitties Blue. I used teal italics to fill in. Any explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. New reading lights for the bedroom, which Dad Tom installed yesterday, was money well spent.

2. The purchase of the original reading lights six years ago was a big waste of money.

3. If I became famous, it would most likely be because of something I wrote.

4. A Tonette permanent that gave me an afro when I was five years old was the worst hairstyle I’ve ever had. (Afros weren’t really a thing in the 1950s.)

Thanks for visiting today. We’ll be back tomorrow with some art.

FRIENDSHIP SPARK WITH A GIBBS & TALI AWWW

Awww Mondays

This was the scene in my lap Saturday night. Pretty darn awww-adorable if you ask me. Of course, Gibbs had to show off his toe beans yet again.

Two kittens cuddled together in a lap with a Spark from Thomas Aquinas, "Friendship is the source of the greatest pleasures, and without friends even the most agreeable pursuits become tedious."

Tali and Gibbs will be participating in the Awww Mondays blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus. Click on the badge below if you would like to join the hop.

Sparks

I have posted bunches of Sparks about friendship, including a different one from Thomas Aquinas. Friends are an essential part of what makes our lives enjoyable. I cherish the few I have and would do anything to help promote their happiness.

Gibbs and Tali are not just siblings, cuddlers, and rasslin’ buddies but also friends!

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow, your two favorite tabby cats will be adventuring again. It is Stinky’s turn to plan their adventure, so you will be able to find them right here. Stinky has failed to share with me what he has planned. I am certain, however, it will be something fun, so I definitely think you will want to check it out, and you know they will be looking for you to join them.

Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two favorite, cartoon tabby cats.

Thanks for stopping in today. We always appreciate your visits and support.

TALI & TOE BEANS X 4

Caturday Art

Tali and her toe beans (four times) are here today for art. She was napping in my lap when I snapped the photo.

An art collage of a white and calico kitten napping and showing off her toe beans for Caturday Art.

After creating the art for the photo with the “💧🎨 Ink” effect from Painnt, I put the photo in piZap and tried out some filters from that app. I liked each of them and couldn’t pick just one, so I put all four into a collage. Clockwise starting from the left upper corner the effects are: Galaxy at 90 percent, Metallic at 54 percent, Scrap Z at 72 percent and Parchment at 85 percent.

Tali will be participating in the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. You can join her there by clicking on Athena’s badge.

Tali has a jigsaw for all of you who enjoy puzzles as much as I do.

Friendly Fill-Ins

I didn’t complete the fill-ins yesterday, as I posted a review for the Rywell Cooling Mat. If you missed it, I think you might want to check it out. It really is a great product. The link is at the bottom of this post.

Anyhoo …

The Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop is hosted each Friday by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). They publish the fill-in sentences on their blogs each Thursday. To participate in the hop, click on the badge at the left.

I was fortunate to get some help from both Stinky and Calista Jo this week. We all used teal italics for our completions. Any explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. Stinky: My plans for August include planning and enjoying Adventures with Periwinkle.

2. I am a type INFJ personality. (This is one of and the most rare of the 16 Myers-Briggs personality types. The acronym stands for Introversion, Intuition, Feeling and Judging. A person who is an INFJ is often called the “Advocate” or “Counselor,” and is known for being deeply empathetic, idealistic and quiet.)

3. If cat litter were a currency, (Dad Tom and) I would be rich. (I had to add Dad Tom to this fill-in, as he is the official scooper at our house. We have nine litter boxes.)

4. Calista Jo: I can do a good impersonation of a banshee.

Sunday Selfies Again Tomorrow

That’s right, we will be right here to meet you for our Sunday Selfies blog hop. I have a choice of hosts to select from, which is totally unusual. As I haven’t decided which of the Kitties Blue to select, you definitely will need to join us. And when you are here, we really hope you will link up a selfie and hop.

Thanks for visiting us today. We always are grateful when you stop in.

Have a terrific Caturday.

LAUGH AT LIFE & A FLASHBACK AWWW

Sparks

Two laughing cartoon cats on a background of balloons and confetti with the following quote from Red Skelton, "Live by this credo: have a little laugh at life and look around you for happiness instead of sadness. Laughter has always brought me out of unhappy situations."

I totally agree with Red. We watched him on TV when I was.a kid, and he always elicited laughter from me and my family. Nothing lifts my spirits like a good laugh.

I suspect that these two kitties are laughing at me, as once again I have forgotten a Gotcha Day. Yesterday was Audrey and Raleigh’s. I must thank Mackerull and Laura (Trout Talkin’ Tabbies) for wishing them a happy Gotcha Day on yesterday’s post. We will celebrate later this week.

Awww Mondays

As I did miss Audrey and Raleigh’s Gotcha Day, I am including the first photo taken after they arrived here.

Photo of two tiny kittens wrapped in a towel and surrounded by a blue lace and ribbon frame.

Raleigh and Audrey will be heading over to Comedy Plus to take part in the Awww Monday’s blog hop hosted by Sandee. You can join them there by clicking on the Awww badge.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow your two favorite tabby cats will be adventuring again. Periwinkle is in charge of the itinerary, so you’ll be able to find them at Friends Furever. They always have fun and will be looking for you to join them.

Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two adventurous, cartoon tabby cats.

Thanks for stopping in to see us today. We always appreciate your visits and support.

GROWING UP SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #621

Bi-eyed, white and calico kitten sharing a growing up selfie in a blue frame with white flowers.

Tali and Gibbs are almost ten months old and looking less and less like kittens. They, however, remain smaller than their housemates and continue acting like terrorists.

I always consider cats are not “fully evolved” until they are about two years old. By then they have developed their individual personalities. So, these two may look older, but they have lots of growing up and maturing ahead of them.

Please Hop Along

Tali and I will not be staying up until the hop goes live. She will joining you all in the morning. We must get to bed so she and Gibbs can get up at 4 a.m., run around the bedroom knocking things on the floor, pouncing on Dad Tom and I as we sleep and biting our extremities through the bedding.

We do hope, however, that you join Tali on the hop. Whether you do or not, however, we thank you for stopping by today to see us.

Wishing all an easy and enjoyable Sunday.

A HIGH FIVE & EVEN MORE TOE BEANS

Caturday Art

Our two non-shy boys are here as the subjects of this week’s art. Cooper Murphy is trying to give you a high five, and Gibbs is napping tucked into a ball and once again showing off his toe beans; though, they are a bit obscured. His back feet are resting atop his head.

An artist rendering of an orange tabby cat giving a high five and a white and black kitten showing off his pink toe beans.

To create the art I used the Glass Springs effect with analog coloring from Painnt. To that I added the Abstract filter from piZap at 100 percent. The frame is from the favpng app.

Here is a puzzle for all the jigsaw fans.

Sunday Selfies Tomorrow

Tomorrow, one of the junior members of the Kitties Blue will be here as your host. Of course, your host will be looking forward to seeing your sweet and smiling faces as will all your other friends. So, we hope you will join us tomorrow or any time through Thursday.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a meowvolous Caturday, dear friends.

THE ADVENTURES OF PERIWINKLE & STINKY: PART CCCXLVI

Periwinkle’s Arrival

Stinky is waiting by the teleportation tunnel for Periwinkle when he sees it begin to vibrate. A moment later, Periwinkle tumbles out with the familiar whoosh. Stinky sets her upright, then gives her a big hug and several whisker kisses, which Periwinkle enthusiastically returns.

“I am so happy to see you Stinky. Your kisses are so sweet, but is there any of that cake or noms left over from Calista Jo’s birthday celebration yesterday?”

Stinky giggles in response to Periwinkle saying his kisses are sweet but replies, “I saved you a big piece of cake. I had to hide it, as all of my fursibs over-indulged. They are sprawled around the catio and house in food comas.”

It is Periwinkle’s turn to giggle when she hears that. She then asks Stinky what he has planned for the day?

“I decided to take one of the suggestions from our followers. Dalton and Benji’s mom, Ingrid, suggested we visit Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, British Columbia.”

“I have never heard of it. What can you tell me about Grouse Mountain?” asks Periwinkle.

“I have checked it out on line: Grouse Mountain’s name comes from the sooty grouse bird, which is native to the area. The mountain has been a recreational site since the early 1900s, with the first lodge built in the 1920s. Over the years, it has evolved into a major tourist attraction, with significant investments made to enhance its facilities and accessibility. It looks as if there are several activities. They have a hiking trail with 2,830 steps.”

“Yikes,” relplies Periwinkle. “What else?”

“There is an aerial tramway, a wildlife refuge and zip-lining.”

“Those sound like fun. Are you ready to get going?”

“Yep.” Stinky takes Periwinkle’s paw and leads her back into the teleportation tunnel.

Grouse Mountain

When they arrive at their destination, Stinky informs Periwinkle that in order to get to the wildlife refuge, they must take the Skyride up the mountain. So, they head to the tram station and hop aboard the first available one.

On the way up, the tabbies admire the view below them. Stinky tells Periwinkle that Grouse Mountain is part of the Coast Mountain Range in North Vancouver. He also tells her, “We will be traveling about one mile to the summit. There the altitude is approximately 5,250 feet above sea level. It will take us about six minutes to get there. On the way, we will travel through three different ecological zones: coastal rainforest, subalpine fir and open alpine meadow. We will have a 360 degree panoramic view of  Vancouver, the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains. Be prepared for your ears to pop as we travel higher.”

The Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife

The refuge is the home to two grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, owls and hummingbirds.

Periwinkle & Stinky immediately seek out Coola and Grinder.

“Stinky, I cannot believe you convinced me to climb up here with you, but I will admit it is a better view from here,” says Periwinkle.

The tabbies find out that both bears were found orphaned in 2001. Coola was found on a highway near Bella Coola, British Columbia. Grinder was found in Invermere, B.C.

Coola’s mom and her two additional cubs were killed by a truck. Coola is a laid-back bear. Her favorite thing is to submerge herself in a large pond to play with her underwater toys: a log, large bone and a rock.

Grinder was discovered alone on a logging road. His mother was never found. He weighed less than 10 pounds and was weak and dehydrated. Of the two bears, he is the smallest but the most out-going and dominant.

Stinky tells Periwinkle, “We can breakfast here if you are hungry. Where you see those green umbrellas is the Grizzly Lookout Cafe.”

“I could eat and definitely watch the bears more,” replies Periwinkle.

The tabbies head to the cafe where they find a nice buffet available.

After a leisurely breakfast, Periwinkle & Stinky head out to the deck to watch Coola and Grinder a bit more. Once again, Stinky convinces Periwinkle to get up on the railing so they can get a better look at the bears.

After a short while, Periwinkle asks Stinky, “What’s next?”

Hiking & Zip-Lining

“I thought we would walk the 1.55 mile Grouse Grind trail, but as I mentioned earlier, there are 2,830 total stairs, and we cannot stop if we get tired and walk down from wherever we are. We have to go to the top at an elevation of over 3,500 feet, and from what I have read it is very daunting.

“I think I’ll pass on that. What else is there?”

“They also have zip-lining, but I know you don’t want to do that. They have dual lines, so we could do it side-by-side. Unfortunately, it takes two hours and the lines reach speeds of almost 50 mph.”

“Yikes. I’m sorry, but like you said, I don’t want to do that!” shrieks Periwinkle.

“I might be willing to, but I would never do it alone.”

“And I wouldn’t let you. That would scare me even more waiting for you for two hours.”

“So, will you be happy with just riding the Skyride, seeing the view, visiting the bears and having breakfast?” asks Stinky.

“You bet, seeing Grinder and Coola were enough for me.”

“So,  let’s get the next Skyride down the mountain and head back to our teleportation tunnel,” Stinky proposes and takes Periwinkle’s paw.

“Stinky, the views alone made this trip worth it,” Periwinkle tells Stinky on the way down the mountain.

“I totally agree!”

Heading Home

The tabbies jump into their teleportation tunnel and arrive home moments later. When they arrive, they head to the front porch for a snack and Periwinkle’s promised slice of C.J.’s birthday cake.

“Stinky, would it be okay if I check out the kittens prior to heading home?”

“Of course, let’s see if we can find them.”

“Periwinkle, just as I expected. Here they are on Mom’s lap.”

After a quick visit, it is time for Periwinkle to head home. She and Stinky walk to the teleportation tunnel paw-in-paw. They spend several minutes whisker kissing, paw hugging and whispering, “I love you,” to each other. Then Periwinkle enters the tunnel and with a wave and blown kiss is gone in a whoosh.

Stinky heads to the catio for a nap and dreams of Periwinkle.

The End

Periwinkle and Stinky will be participating in the Happy Tuesday blog hop at Comedy Plus. Should you like to do the same, click on the Happy badge.

TALI ART X FOUR

Caturday Art

A white and calico kitten named Tali in an art collage created with the Spectral effect from Painnt.

To create today’s art of Tali, I used the Spectral effect from the Painnt app. I tried four different types of coloring and liked each one. So, I decided to make a collage featuring each of the four. Clockwise from the upper left the coloring is original, vivid, analog and summer.

Here’s a puzzle for all our jigsaw fans.

preview121pieceKitten Art X Four

Tali will be participating in the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. If you would like to join her there, click on Athena’s badge.

Even if you don’t join Athena’s hop, check out her art. She always looks absolutely gorgeous.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Not only is tomorrow Father’s Day but it is also National Selfie Day. I suspect the Kitties Blue crew will be up to something to honor their dad.  I currently have no clue as to what that might be. If you don’t normally participate in our Sunday Selfies hop, maybe this is the time to give it a try. You can both honor your dad and show off at the same time.

As tomorrow is officially a holiday, we know your family might be busy celebrating your dad (if you have one). If that is the case, it’s no problem. Our hop always remains open and available through Thursday.

Thanks for stopping in to visit today. Now, go have a terrific Caturday.
