THE HEART OF THE HOME
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
This is our poem for Angel Sammy and Teddy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday. Each week Sammy sends a poem from the Bridge and invites his bloggy friends to join him by writing a poem. This week’s prompt letter is “H.” Sammy also is providing prompt words. Those words for today’s poem are: 1) Happy, 2) Hobby, 3) Heart, 4) Home. Being overachievers, we selected three of those words.

Thankful Thursday
Every Thursday, we also join Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop and let everyone know for what Kitties Blue are thankful. We are grateful for parents with open arms and good hearts who have given us a happy home. As Brian always says, “Adopt cats, we deserve it.” To be part of this hop, click on his badge.
Thanks for being friends and joining us today. Your friendship makes us happy!

“CLOSE TO MY HEART” BY LISBETH
Thoroughly Poetic & Thankful Thursday
Close to My Heart
I have a special someone in my life.
I love him with all my heart.
He is gentle, kind and understanding.
And did I mention, he is smart?
He’s the handsome Cat Scout Charles.
He makes all my dreams come true.
With his loving and caring ways,
He makes me happy when I’m blue.
He’s Prince Charming and my hero
For his helpfulness for others.
He got a special peer award at Scouts,
And Mau considers him a brother.
Charles sends me the sweetest notes.
He makes me feel so special and loved.
I’d like to show him how I feel in person
And give him a huge, warm hug.
For now we will gaze on each other’s photos
And dream about some future time,
When we can snuggle close together.
Oh, that will be heaven and sublime!

The photos are of me opening my Christmas gift and checking out my card from Charles as well as with the catnip, parrot toy he sent. I also got some other special gifts that I will share in a future post.
I was less than cooperative or interested when Mom helped me open my gift. I have not been in the best mood since Cooper Murphy joined the Kitties Blue Krew. I have been hissing and growling at everyone except Giulietta and Mauricio. I haven’t smacked anyone as I let them know to stay away with my scary sounds and flattened ears.
I hope my sweet love Charles won’t dump me when he hears about what a stinker I have been. I love and appreciate him so much. I am thankful to have him in my life.
I am pawticipating in both Sammy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday and Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop. The prompt letter for our poem this week is “H.”

BIRTHDAY AND A LOVE AFFAIR
Happy Birthday Sampson
Today is the birthday of the most handsome Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles). Those of you who follow us regularly know this romantic and gallant Cat Scout has been Astrid’s boyfriend for two years. She asked to post a special birthday card for him here.
For those of you who don’t know how Astrid and Sampy’s relationship developed, here’s a synopsis from a previous post.
It all began in February with my Match.Cat post when I asked if any male kitties were interested in taking any of my girls to Madi’s Queen of Hearts Dance.
This is what Astrid had to say about herself at the time: “I am the really shy girl among us. I wouldn’t be pawticipating if Mom wasn’t pushing me. Even though I am two and a half years old, I am a very tiny, tortie girl. I keep to myself most of the time and don’t really socialize with my housemates as they like to bully me and make me cry. If I do go to the ball, my date needs to be with a sensitive and quiet, young man-cat.”
In reply, we received this comment from Sampson’s mom, Emily: ”What beautiful ladies! I am sure they will find dates! If they don’t, I have one young bachelor kitty who I think would be perfect for Astrid. He doesn’t know much about this Queen of Heart’s Ball, but I’m sure he would be interested if I mentioned it to him…”
Astrid then received an e-mail from Sampson and accepted his invitation to attend the Dance.
Here’s a slideshow with highlights of their relationship.

It was love at first sight with these two. Sampy’s love and support has done so much to help Astrid gain confidence and stand up for herself (most of the time) against the bullying of fursibs, Misty May and Fiona.
An Announcement
On February 29, just a little more than two years after their first date, Astrid popped the question. She asked the love of her life, Sampy, to marry her. It was rather spur of the moment as Astrid found out just that day about the tradition of ladies being able to ask for the paw of their man in marriage on leap day. And…Sampy said yes. Astrid and Sampy are now engaged.
Tentatively they plan to marry in June at BlogPaws with their flat selves standing in for them.
Please join us in offering your concatulations to this adorable couple.
Even though this is a very wordy post, we are joining the Wordless Wednesday blog hops.
SHOWING THE BIRTHDAY LOVE
Today is Love Your Pet Day, but it is also our dad’s birthday. In honor of both, we have decided to share some photos of us loving our daddy and vice versa. Even though he is allergic to us, he lets us love on him and he always reciprocates.
All photos show us in Dad’s lap on lying atop him except the one with kitten Calista Jo using dad as her personal snuggly. A few of these photos have been shared on our blog previously.
We love you daddy, and we know you love us. Happy Birthday to the best cat dad ever!
Purrs and kisses, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth & Calista Jo
p.s. Don’t forget to love your pet today.
MAURICIO’S BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
Several days ago, I asked a beautiful, floofy, blue-eyed lady-cat to be my girlfriend, and to my great pleasure and excitement, she accepted.
So today, I would like to introduce you to Allie.
Allie is a member of the Florida Furkids family, along with sisfur, Ellie, younger brofur, Raz, and woofie, Cubby, at the Friends Furever blog. Both Allie and Raz, like me, are members of Cat Scouts, and we’re all members of the Worldwide Wildcats troop.
If you don’t know Allie and her family, I hope you will click on the link above and visit them. Allie also is making an announcement today about our new relationship. I cannot wait to see it.
Purrs and hugs to all and special paw-pats and nose-kisses to Allie, Mauricio
