Thoroughly Poetic & Thankful Thursday
Close to My Heart
I have a special someone in my life.
I love him with all my heart.
He is gentle, kind and understanding.
And did I mention, he is smart?
He’s the handsome Cat Scout Charles.
He makes all my dreams come true.
With his loving and caring ways,
He makes me happy when I’m blue.
He’s Prince Charming and my hero
For his helpfulness for others.
He got a special peer award at Scouts,
And Mau considers him a brother.
Charles sends me the sweetest notes.
He makes me feel so special and loved.
I’d like to show him how I feel in person
And give him a huge, warm hug.
For now we will gaze on each other’s photos
And dream about some future time,
When we can snuggle close together.
Oh, that will be heaven and sublime!

The photos are of me opening my Christmas gift and checking out my card from Charles as well as with the catnip, parrot toy he sent. I also got some other special gifts that I will share in a future post.
I was less than cooperative or interested when Mom helped me open my gift. I have not been in the best mood since Cooper Murphy joined the Kitties Blue Krew. I have been hissing and growling at everyone except Giulietta and Mauricio. I haven’t smacked anyone as I let them know to stay away with my scary sounds and flattened ears.
I hope my sweet love Charles won’t dump me when he hears about what a stinker I have been. I love and appreciate him so much. I am thankful to have him in my life.
I am pawticipating in both Sammy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday and Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop. The prompt letter for our poem this week is “H.”
Purrs and paw-pats, Lisbeth
OMC…………….I missed it. Rats!! Mom has not been feeling great the last few weeks and I have mostly kept her from the computer by pinning her hands down by laying across her. I adore your poem and it makes me feel so very special Ms. Lisbeth. You wrote a poem about me…. an ordinary cat and made him really happy. I too have not been the best fur sib. My sisfur Miranda has been ill and I don’t like her right now. I’m trying to be more tolerant but as you know Ms. Lisbeth it can be hard.
Lots of kisses, purrs and love….Charles

Oh, rats. It’s always hard to adjust to new family members. But never fear. I’m sure your family loves you just as much. You can’t be replaced. Maybe you’ll find it in your sweet heart to love your brother soon. At least, I hope so!
Thank you for your sweet words on my blog yesterday. You brought tears to my eyes. I thank you for your friendship.
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie
just love the poem!! Wonderful!
Lisbeth what a great poet you are.
What a beautiful poem, Lisbeth ! Purrs
Sweet poem! You are so cute, no matter what you do. All is as it should be, even when it is hard. Be good to each other. It matters. HUGS.
Lisbeth, I’m sure you will adjust to having Cooper Murphy around in time.
That was such a sweet poem Lisbeth! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

That is a sweet poem
What a sweet poem for Charles. We know he will love it. We sorry you haven’t been as welcoming to Cooper Murphy as some of the others, but we hope you will become furiends soon.
What a purrfect poem for a purrfect boyfriend, Lisbeth. And it sounds to us like you’re just the kind of gal that knows what she wants and lets everybuddy know. There’s nothing wrong with that, and surely Charles will love you all the more for it! Anyway, we think that, over time, you’ll come to accept the new brother that Angel Fiona sent your way. (Oh, and that parrot Charles sent you? Purrfection!)
Excellent poem! Charles would never dump you, he loves all of you even your grumpiness. XO
Great poem Lisbeth. Chris was a stinker when Frankie arrived but now they are napping together on my lap.
That’s a beautiful poem for your sweetheart. As far as Cooper is concerned, I don’t think he’s going anywhere so you might as well let it go!!
What a sweet poem! It’s totally understandable that a new family member will cause some upset until everyone accepts the new order of things. We hope everyone is living together in harmony again soon.
Oh Lisbeth Charles will just LOVE your poem – I sure do……it’s a perfect “H” poem for this week’s challenge and Kitties Blue are so wonderful to pawticipate every week! Charles got you some wonderful presents for Christmas – he’s a very special guy and wonderful Scout.
Love and Hugs, Angel Sammy
Awww, Lisbeth, our Suki was like that when Kittens arrived in her domain too…but after quite a long time she decided maybe she could even curl up with them sometimes:)
The worst was when her royal stinkerness hissed at petcretary for daring to bring home any other kitty! MOL!!
We are glad you have another kitty to tell your woes to in Charles. That was a super poem, and quite romantic:)
Well, your poem are sweet even if ya’ve been bein a stinker!
Wow, what a fantastic poem! We wish someone(s) would compose love songs for Us.
LIsbeth that was a beautiful poem. Charles is lucky to have you!
However, since you aren’t crazy having to take selfies for the petretary, you should be thankful that Cooper Murphy loves doing it!
It’s hard to welcome a new family member and there will be some spats. But remember Angel Fiona sent him to help with the grieving process.
