Sparks

I think you will agree that this Spark needs no explanation and is totally appropriate for the world we live in today.

The author, Jon Katz, is a 78-year-old, American author, journalist and photographer. In his early career, he was a reporter and also wrote a series of crime novels. His recent works deal with the relationships between humans and animals, especially dogs.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow our two, fun-loving tabbies will be waiting for you to join them on their latest adventure. You’ll be able to find them right here, as it is Stinky’s turn to arrange their itinerary. He’s planned something really special. That means you do not want to miss the opportunity to join him and his beautiful fiancée. I know they will be looking for you.

Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two favorite, cartoon tabby cats.

To participate in the hop, click on the badge at the left. I am so happy Periwinkle stepped up to help me with #4. I had no idea how to fill it in. Periwinkle and I both used teal italics to fill in the blanks. Any explanatory information is in parentheses.

 
1. The longest I have been without electricity is three days.

2. I am so tired of waiting for my newest new knee to get better. (I saw my surgeon last week. He said that it is taking so long to improve due to my neuro-muscular disease and to give it until mid-June.)

3. I can’t believe I still remember that when I was about five years old, one of our cats walked across the top of a cake my sister had just made. It had this greenish, mint-colored icing covered in paw prints.

4. Periwinkle: I wish I could go back and experience when Stinky told me he loved me for the first time again

DELICATE SNUGGLY ART

I hope you all are not tired of seeing the kittens. They are supremely photogenic and do not seem to mind having their photo taken. So, they are back again in some snuggly Caturday Art.

To create today’s art, I used the Delicate Gingko effect with original color from Painnt. To that I added the Blast filter from piZap at 50 percent. The frame, as always, is from favpng.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

1. I don’t enjoy cooking anymore, but I appreciate those that do.

2. Audrey: Lately, I don’t get enough treats, as Sawyer isn’t here for me to steal his.

3. Being mugged when I was in college scared me away from walking outside by myself at night; though, I did it many nights looking for Sawyer when he was missing. (For decades, if I was walking alone [even it broad daylight], I would panic if I heard footsteps approaching behind me.)

4. The eight kittens dumped in our alley forced me to learn how to bottle feed them and be their foster mom.

TWO TABBIES ART

Today’s art was created from a photo of tabbies, Cooper Murphy and now angel Sawyer, napping together on February 16, 2018. Sawyer had been with us only a couple of months and was still a little guy. He was using his big brofur for a pillow. Cooper was much more amicable back then.

To create today’s art, I used the “ridiculousness” effect from Painnt. I bumped the saturation and used Lomo coloring. And, as always, the frame is from the favpng app.

ANOTHER OF GIBB’S CRAZY NAPPING POSITIONS

If you were here yesterday for Sunday Selfies, you saw Gibbs in one of his crazy sleeping positions. (If you missed it, click the link at the conclusion of this post.) Today, he is back in yet another one!

I had collapsed after a Peloton ride, and Gibbs took the opportunity to nap atop me. He also does this in the middle of the night and purrs so loudly that he wakes me up.

Sparks

This Spark would be appropriate at any time, but with the current unrest in the U.S. and so many other places, it seemed just right for today.

 

 

I found it on Instagram where the wife of one of my high school classmates had posted it.

I am a feline fanatic. My license plate reads “PRRFCT,” and my blog logo is tattooed on my right calf. I have lived with and cared for 24 cats over the past 40+ years. The Cat on My Head is a website dedicated to the mostly comical and often exasperating antics of eight cats and their sixteen angel predecessors.
