Bad Mom

I have tried to explain to the kitties that moms do not always get everything right! They are, however, less than understanding! I really cannot blame them, as they depend on their human moms and dads for everything. That includes celebrating birthdays and other special days. I forgot two very important celebrations that should have occurred on Monday, which is why this is going to be a rather wordy post.

Belated Birthday

Monday was Noelle and Periwinkle’s eighth birthday. Granted we are only a couple of days late, but nonetheless it is all my fault. I am certain if Sawyer and Stinky had been able to remind me, they would have.

If Noelle and Periwinkle are anything like my friends and me, I am relatively certain they will not mind being feted again today. The boys have made them a card and Cooper Murphy has helped them bake a cake.

Ginger Cat Appreciation Day

Even having two ginger kitties did not help me remember their special day on Monday. I am fairly certain Raleigh didn’t care. As long as we feed him and leave him alone, he’s a relatively happy camper. Cooper Murphy is much more demanding but is unaware of my faux pas. They did enjoy a nice day on the catio with a bit of bird watching.

The bird is on the roof, and Raleigh has it in his sights. Cooper had been watching prior to Dad Tom taking this photo. When I checked on them, Raleigh was whacking Cooper on the head. Even when it is a special day, boys will be boys.

I did make a little cake for them. It would not have been fair to Cooper if he had to bake one for himself. He maybe should appoint an assistant, like Mau did with him back when they were Cat Scouts. Anyhoo, there can never be too much cake.

I may be a bit prejudiced, but I think he is a super handsome feline. Though, Coop is looking off to the side; he made this selfie thing look extremely easy. He’s just hanging out and loafing. I am fairly certain that most of you are enjoying the opportunity to see his face, as we most often show his ample belly.

I wish all the Kitties Blue could be this chill and relaxed. It would make getting a selfie each week so much easier.

RALEIGH CELEBRATES GINGER CAT APPRECIATION DAY

It’s Raleigh’s turn to entertain you with a quartet of photos. And what could be more appropriate on Ginger Cat Appreciation Day than a ginger cat. He admits that he is not as gingery as Cooper Murphy, but he thinks as the newbie he deserves the honor of representing Kitties Blue this year. One thing Raleigh has that Coop doesn’t are actual ginger-colored eyes. If you enlarge the photos a bit, you should be able to see them.

This week our fill-ins are filled with apologies. It seems my brain is a little fuzzy, and I have not been remembering things I should. I also had to ask for help again, and I am grateful Sawyer (and Stinky) once again stepped up to assist. We all used teal italics for our fill-ins, and explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. Sawyer & Stinky: I am not always so forgetful and inconsiderate. (Yesterday was Friends Furever’s, Noelle and Periwinkle’s, birthdays, and we blew it…no cards and no gifts! Yikes! So, today, we at least have a card.)

1. Mom Janet: I am not always so forgetful and inconsiderate. (Yesterday was Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, and I did nothing for my boys [though, I did post something on Instagram], Cooper Murphy and Raleigh. I am pretty ashamed of myself and hope they will forgive me.)

Our friend Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats) was the representative for Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, which makes me even more embarrassed at forgetting it.

3. Sawyer: I would happily accept a job offer at The Temptations factory.

4. Acrobat is a job I could never do.

BELATED CELEBRATIONS

Belated Birthday Wishes

Yesterday was special for two reasons, and we missed both so are making up for it today.

Most importantly, we missed Noelle’s/Periwinkle’s third birthday. If you missed it as well, you can read all about it by visiting “The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky” on yesterday’s post at Friends Furever. Today, Stinky/Sawyer have a special card for these sweet girls.

Yesterday also was the special day to recognize ginger cats. Personally, we have a huge appreciation for gingers everyday so feel particularly bad about missing their special celebration.

GINGER CAT APPRECIATION DAY SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #264

I had absolutely no idea Ginger Cat Appreciation Day existed until my friend and fellow ginger, Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats), let me know a couple of days ago. I think it’s terrific that we have our very own day. Everyone knows, however, that ginger cats are appreciated every day, as we are special. Okay, all cats are special, but you’ll have to admit ginger cats are amazingly adorable.

I’ll stop babbling now, as I know you came to see not listen to me.

I am sorry my eyes are so dark. I unfortunately didn’t have them fully open when I snapped this.

We have lots of ginger friends who join our hop every week and a few that have their wings. I am not going to list them for fear of forgetting one or more. But Kitties Blue and I do wish each and every ginger cat a day filled with love and cuddles and extra treats.

Sparks & a Remembrance

On Mondays we like to post an inspirational or motivational quote to help you start your week on a note of positivity. We will be doing that tomorrow, but we also will take the opportunity to remember a friend who got his wings recently. Caster from Kitty Cat Chronicles, who had been suffering from an unidentifiable illness for several months, passed away about ten days ago. Normally we remember kitty friends on Sunday, but this being a special day for gingers, we did not want our remembrance of Caster to be over-shadowed.
