Friendship Friday

KIZMET’S 2ND GOTCHA DAY CELEBRATION

Feline/Friendship Friday

Two years ago today, this sweet girl joined the Kitties Blue family. She has been a delight from day one. Kizmet is sociable and fun and loves to purr and give kisses. She has taken the kittens under her paw, which warms our hearts. Newcomers are not always welcome.

Cooper Murphy was kind enough to bake a cake.

And please help yourself to hot chocolate, lemonade or iced tea. (Sorry, we have no champagne today, as Kizmet is underage.)

Kizmet is participating in the Feline & Friendship Friday blog hops hosted by Comedy Plus and Create with Joy respectively.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). On Thursday they each select two sentences to be filled in by hop participants, and you can find those on both blogs. Enter the hop by clicking on the graphic.

As I am experiencing web-site issues, some of the Kitties Blue volunteered to lend me their paws. They completed all the fill-ins without me having to do anything more than post their fill-ins here.

They all used teal italics for their fill-ins.

1. Kizmet: My favorite holiday tradition is playing in the empty boxes.

2. Sawyer: On Christmas (or Hanukkah) I plan to fill up on treats.

3. Kitties Blue: ‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house we kitties were snuggled up in bed with our humans.

4. Sawyer: Sharing my treats is the best way to spread holiday cheer.

Thanks for joining us today. Hopefully you will get this post in its entirety, as the problem I am having is being unable to save my drafts.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow with some Caturday Art and then again on Sunday for selfies. We will share our Christmas card then.

COOPER DREAMING OF MOUSIES IN HIS STOCKING

Feline/Friendship Friday

Once again Cooper Murphy is sharing his toesies, tummy and tailio while he dreams of Santa leaving him some tasty mousies in his Christmas stocking! He’s also joining the Feline and Friendship Friday blog hops at Comedy Plus and Create With Joy respectively.

Sawyer gave me some help again this week. He is my go-to cat when I need help. I really appreciate it, as I jinxed him yesterday when I wrote about the number of days between his seizures. He had one before dinner last night, so the count begins again.

We both used teal italics for filling in. Any explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. I have a tough time choosing a gift for Kitties Blue. (They have absolutely everything any cat could want, but they are getting somme pretty good gifts this year to replace some things they have worn out.)

2. Sawyer: I can’t wait to see Noelle open the gift from me. (I cannot tell you what it is, as she reads our blog. And, of course, I won’t be there personally to see her open it. But I know she’s going to really, really like it!)

3. I’m dreaming of a quiet Christmas.

4. If my holiday season were a book or movie, it would be titled, “Christmas Arrives Late Again.”

That’s it for today. We’ll see you all tomorrow with some Christmas Caturday Art featuring Raleigh and Kizmet.

THREE SUNPUDDLE WORSHIPPERS & FILL-INS

Feline/Friendship Friday

The afternoon sunpuddle in the bedroom is available on a first come basis. Sawyer and Misty May are always quick to grab a spot. On the day, Kizmet joined them.

Our three sunpuddle worshippers will be joining the blog hops hosted by Comedy Plus (Feline Friday) and Create With Joy (Friendship Friday).

I personally had some good fill-ins for this week’s sentences but the Kitties Blue boys decided to take over and complete them for me. I suspect they think that will put them in Santa’s good graces. Not that any of them really have anything to worry about. They’ve all been very good this year.

They all used teal italics for filling in.

1. Sawyer: I don’t like medicine in my stinky goodness noms.

2. Raleigh: My to-do list for December includes: climbing the tree, knocking ornaments off the tree and sleeping under the tree. (Mom: A couple of those may not keep Raleigh on Santa’s good boy list.)

3. Cooper Murphy: I still need to give Mom my holiday wish list before she finishes her shopping.

4. Sawyer: To me, getting lots of treats is the most important part of the holiday season.

We’ll look forward to seeing you tomorrow with some Caturday Art.

SUNPUDDLE SNOOZERS & FILL-INS

Feline/Friendship Friday

Sunpuddle snoozers: tuxie cat and grey tabby cat sprawled together in the sun and sleeping.

The last couple days have been super cold but sunny. Most cats are heat seekers, and Kitties Blue are no exception. When there is a sunpuddle, it is first come first serve unless there just happens to be room for more than one kitty. And that can make for some unusual companions.

Our two sunpuddle snoozers, Misty May and Sawyer, will be joining the blog hops hosted by Comedy Plus (Feline Friday) and Create With Joy (Friendship Friday).

As has become a habit for him, Sawyer has helped be complete the fill-ins today. We both used teal italics.

1. On holidays, I usually have a second serving of dessert.

2. I am thankful for Dad Tom, Kitties Blue and all my wonderful friends.

3. Sawyer: I would like to invite Noelle (Friends Fureverover for a feast.

4. Having the opportunity to live with so many cats throughout the last nearly 40 years was a blessing in disguise. (They have given us so much enjoyment, laughter and love.)

FISH, FELINES, FILL-INS, FRIENDSHIP & VETERANS DAY

I had to get the entire gang to help me this week with the fill-ins. We all used teal italics.

1. A veteran I would like to thank today is all of them, especially the animals.

2. Sawyer: I can’t go a day without treats.

3. Raleigh: Lisbeth’s fish bed is my most frequented napping locale.

4. Kitties Blue: This time of year, Mom is busy Christmas shopping and decorating.

Veterans Day

Today we are remembering all the brave men, women and animals who have served our country and protected our freedoms, including my dad, Harvey Buickerood, and Dad Tom’s dad, Bud Blue.

CATIO SUNPUDDLE KITTEN & FILL-INS

Feline/Friendship Friday

Torbie kitten on the catio in the sun with fall leaves and bird feeder in the background.

We are having a fabulous fall with comfortable temperatures, low humidity and the most vibrant leaf colors I have ever seen. Audrey found herself a dappled sunpuddle on the catio and posed purrfectly for her dad. The surroundly fall colors enhance her Torbie fur.

She’ll be joining the Feline and Friendship Friday blog hops at Comedy Plus and Create With Joy respectively.

Here’s a bonus puzzle for this week.

Amazingly I did not need to enlist the help of any of the Kitties Blue this week to complete the fill-ins. I am certain my usual helper, Sawyer, is not disappointed.

1. Cats, caffeine, and a snoring husband keeps me up at night.
2. If I could improve one of my senses, it would be my sight. (I have cataracts I need to have removed.)
3. If I were home alone and heard footsteps in the house, I would call 911 and then leave the house.
4. I would want the epitaph on my tombstone to say, “loved cats.” (Dad Tom and I have our burial sight and headstone. It doesn’t say this, but I can always ask to have it added. It does say, “The heart that has truly loved never forgets,” which is a line from a poem by Thomas Moore and was a part of our wedding vows.)

We’ll be back tomorrow with some Caturday Art and another puzzle. Kitties Blue and I hope to see you then!

KITTIES BLUE CELEBRATE A BELATED TOCK-TOBER

Tock-Tober

We are appalled, outraged and downright ashamed of our ditzy and forgetful mom. So, what’s with all this consternation, you ask? Yesterday was Tock-Tober. Did she remember? NO! We think she needs a brain transplant. If anyone knows where she can get one, please let us know.

She did share an early Tock-Tober shot of Cooper Murphy. If you missed Cooper’s enormous tocks, you can view them at “Tock-Tober Comes Early & Fill-Ins.” We don’t think that is good enough to give her a pass, so here are a few other tocks.

Purrs & paw-pats, Misty May, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh

Now that Kitties Blue have thoroughly chastised me, it’s time for fill-ins as well as the Feline and Friendship Friday blog hops.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Friendly Fill-ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged- Furballs). If you’d like to participate, check out either of their blogs on Thursday for the sentences to be filled in. You can join the hop by clicking on their badge.

I can always depend on Sawyer when I need help with the fill-ins, and he did his part this week with #4. We both used teal italics for our fill-ins. Explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. Every October, I try to get photos of at least some of Kitties Blue tocks, even if I don’t get them posted on the correct day.

2. If I were going to a costume party, I would go as a cat (duh). (If you’d like to vote on the costumes Stinky and Periwinkle will wear on their next adventure, you can do so by leaving a comment on their post: “The Adventures of Stinky & Periwinkle: Part CLVI.”)

3. “Little Red Riding Hood” is my favorite scary story. (I am obviously a wimp when it comes to being frightened.)

4. Sawyer: I would find a vault somewhere and lock myself in, making certain I had several wheelbarrows full of treats, if there were a zombie apocalypse.

Feline/Friendship Friday

Our participants in Tock-Tober, Audrey, Raleigh and Sawyer, also will be joining the Feline and Friendship Friday blog hops hosted by Comedy Plus and Create With Joy respectively.

This is your final reminder about our giveaway for the book, How Snowball Stole Christmas, by Kristin McKanagh. If you’d like the opportunity to win it, visit the post, “Christmas Comes Early.” Leave a comment there before 5 p.m. ET today. The winner will be announced on Sunday.

Thanks for coming to visit us. We’ll have some Caturday Art for you tomorrow.

TOCK-TOBER COMES EARLY & FILL-INS

Feline/Friendship Friday

Cooper Murphy is here with an early Tock-Tober tocks shot. And, wow, those are some mighty big tocks!

Cooper Murphy will be participating in the Feline Friday and Friendship Friday blog hops at Comedy Plus and Create With Joy, respectively.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Two of the Kitties Blue and I are joining the Friendly Fill-ins blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged- Furballs). To do the same, check out either of their blogs on Thursday for the sentences to be filled in. You can join the hop by clicking on their badge.

When I began filling in this week, I knew Raleigh and Audrey had a great fill-in for #4, so I asked for their assistance. They were happy to have the opportunity to help. And I thank them. We all used teal italics for our fill-ins. Explanatory information is in parentheses.

1.  Seven cats and two kittens keeps me on my toes.

2. I know it’s going to be a bad day when I step in cat puke in my bare feet first thing in the morning.

3. To me, fire is one of the scariest things in the world. (It is actually the thing I fear most.)

4. Raleigh and Audrey: Believe it or not, the vacuum doesn’t scare me us.

We’ll see you all tomorrow for some Caturday Art.

KITTEN RALEIGH LOOKS A LITTLE FISHY

Feline/Friendship Friday

Buff colored, tabby kitten looks a little fishy in a brightly colored, fish shaped cat bed.

Raleigh has discovered the fish bed and spends lots of time snoozing in it. Sometimes Audrey tries to stuff herself in with him.

The fish bed was a gift to Lisbeth from her now angel boyfriend, Charles. She also enjoys napping in it as does Astrid.

Raleigh is participating in the Feline and Friendship Friday blog hops at Comedy Plus and Create With Joy respectively.

When I started filling in this week, both Sawyer and Stinky volunteered to assist me. They actually help me quite often, but I had all the fill-ins covered this week. I cannot deny Sawyer/Stinky anything, so #3 and #4 each have two completions.

1. When I turned 45 I felt especially sad and a little guilty to be alive, as my mom died when she was 45.

2. My favorite breakfast is a chocolate croissant.

3. Me: I’m so glad I live in a world where there are kind and supportive pet bloggers.

Stinky: I am so glad to live in a world where I can take weekly adventures with Periwinkle.

4. Me: A life is not complete without having at least one pet (preferably a cat) to love.

Sawyer: My day is not complete without sending love, purrs, paw hugs and whisker kisses to Noelle.

I hope you’ll return tomorrow for some Caturday Art.

VET VISIT AFTERMATH

Feline/Friendship Friday

Raleigh and Audrey had their final, three kitten vaccinations yesterday as well as claw trims. They were perfect patients to and from in the car and at the vet office. The ordeal did, however, wear them out.

Vet Visit Aftermath: In a collage two kittens, one buff colored tabby and one black/grey tabby are snuggled together sleeping in a navy blue chair.

We had a terrific surprise while at the vet office. Dr. Neel was helping out for the day. Though she’s retired, she comes in when needed. So, she was able to meet the new Kitties Blue, and we had a nice visit.

Raleigh goes back in three weeks for his neuter surgery. Audrey’s surgery has not yet been scheduled.

The kittens are joining the Feline Friday and Friendship Friday blog hops at Comedy Plus and Create With Joy respectively.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Three of Kitties Blue and I are joining the Friendly Fill-ins blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged- Furballs). To do the same, check out either of their blogs on Thursday for the sentences to be filled in. You can join the hop by clicking on their badge.

I was fortunate this week to have Cooper, Kizmet and Sawyer help me with the fill-ins. I couldn’t have completed them by myself. As always, we used teal italics for our fill-ins and any explanatory information is in parentheses.

1. Cooper Murphy: I’m usually mellow and laid back but sometimes I can be a little hissy and snippy at my furblings.

2. Kizmet: A new show (or book or food I like is Hills’s kitten kibble. (I wouldn’t touch it when I was a kitten.)

3. Sawyer: I would like to skip any future seizures and jump right to a normal life.

4. I haven’t been to California to visit friends and family since 2017.

We all hope to see you back here tomorrow for some Caturday Art, which will be a follow-up to our Wordless Wednesday post, “Where’s Kizmet?”
