A TWO GINGER AWWW & A HAPPINESS SPARK

Awww Mondays

Today we have a double dose of awww for you … two handsome ginger guys just hanging out.

Happiness is two ginger tabby cats on a catio in a cat tree.

Cooper Murphy does apologize for being mostly hidden. He and Raleigh will be participating in the Awww Mondays blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus. You can join them there by clicking on the Awww badge.

Sparks

I wanted a Spark about gratitude for today’s post, as I am so grateful to everyone for understanding when we had to take a short break from posting. I think you will agree this Spark is a pretty good one.

A garden with daffodils, tulips, a tuxedo cat windmill and a St. Francis statue with a quote from Denis Waitley, "Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude."

The photo for my Spark is from our backyard. I took it a couple of weeks ago when both the daffodils and tulips were blooming. Three of our early sisfur kitty angels (Daphne, Thelma and Louise) are buried here. I placed the St. Francis statue after my dad passed away in 1998. He was a huge animal lover.

The tulips are “Shirley” tulips, which I planted in memory of my Grandma Shirley (my dad’s mom).

The author of today’s Spark, Denis E. Waitley, was an American motivational speaker, best-selling author and consultant. During his career, he authored 16 books and released more than 10 best-selling audio programs. Waitley died last year one day after turning 92.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow our two, fun-loving tabbies will be having their 336th adventure, and they’ll be waiting for you to join them. You’ll be able to find them right here, as it is Stinky’s turn to arrange their itinerary. I know they will be looking for you, so please plan to join in whatever fun Stinky has planned.

Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two favorite, cartoon tabby cats.

Thanks for stopping in to see us today. We always appreciate your visits and support.

AWWW … A NEW CAT TREE & SPARK

Awww Mondays/Sparks

After disposing of the old cat tree from the catio, Dad Tom moved the cat tree from the dining room to the catio. We ordered a new tree for the dining room and assembled it on Caturday. Tali was the first to try it out, and her comment was “Awww … a new cat tree!”

A white cat sprawled in a circular cubby on a new cat tree with a quote from Buddha, "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."

She is also sharing today’s Spark. This is something both Dad Tom and I have a problem with: Living in the moment! It is quite common as we age, and one of the reasons we forget things like why we walked into a particular room or where we left our cell phone. We are trying to do better. Of course, this is never a problem for a cat!

Tomorrow your two favorite tabbies, Periwinkle and Stinky, will be waiting for you to join them on their latest adventure. You’ll be able to find them at Friends Furever, as Periwinkle will be in charge of this week’s adventure. I know she will have planned something fun, which means you do not want to miss the opportunity to join her and Stinky. I know they will be looking for you.

Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two fun-loving, cartoon tabby cats.

Sparks

A cartoon dog and cat hugging on a background of peach clouds with the following quote from Jon Katz, "Animals have come to mean so much in our lives. We live in a fragmented and disconnected culture. Politics are ugly, religion is struggling, technology is stressful, and the economy is unfortunate. What's one thing that we have in our lives that we can depend on? A dog or a cat loving us unconditionally, every day, very faithfully."

I think you will agree that this Spark needs no explanation and is totally appropriate for the world we live in today.

The author, Jon Katz, is a 78-year-old, American author, journalist and photographer. In his early career, he was a reporter and also wrote a series of crime novels. His recent works deal with the relationships between humans and animals, especially dogs.

Tomorrow our two, fun-loving tabbies will be waiting for you to join them on their latest adventure. You’ll be able to find them right here, as it is Stinky’s turn to arrange their itinerary. He’s planned something really special. That means you do not want to miss the opportunity to join him and his beautiful fiancée. I know they will be looking for you.

Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two favorite, cartoon tabby cats.

TALI PRESENTS AN “AWWW MONDAYS” SPARK

Awww Mondays/Sparks

Once again I have combined Awww Mondays and today’s Spark.

A white and calico kitten in cat tree with a spark (quote) from Jonah Peretti, "People say the Internet's made of cats. The reason isn't because of cats; it's because people like to have an emotion where they say 'aww' all at the same time," for Awww Mondays

This isn’t really a spark, but it definitely fits the Awww Mondays theme.

The author of the Spark, Jonah Peretti, is a 52-year-old Californian. He is an internet entrepreneur, co-founder of the Huffington Post as well as the co-founder and CEO of BuzzFeed.

Tali will be purrticipating in the Awww Mondays blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus. If you would like to do the same, click on the Awww badge.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow our adorable tabby duo will be waiting for you to join them on their next adventure. It is Periwinkle’s week to plan what they’ll be doing, so you will need to check out Friends Furever. I know P&S love it when you come along, so please don’t let them down. Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two favorite, cartoon tabby cats.

MORNING FACE WASH & A SPARK

Awww Mondays

A blonde lady with a grey cat washing her face.

Kizmet always thinks my face needs washing and usually does it several times a day. Gibbs has now joined in that ritual. I am either going to have the cleanest or the rawest face. Too bad all that scouring will not remove the wrinkles.

Kizmet will be purrticipating in the Awww Mondays blog hop hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus. If you would like to join her there, click on the Awww badge.

Sparks

A quote from Jack Layton: "My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful, and optimistic. And we’ll change the world," on the background of six cute bunnies and flowers.

The author of today’s Spark, John Gilbert “Jack” Layton  (1950-2011) was a Canadian politician, educator and activist. He was the leader of the New Democratic Party from 2003 until his death in 2011.

I suspect you are wondering why bunnies are presenting today’s Spark. Easter is only a few weeks away, and they are totally adorable as well as appear to be friends. As the current state of the world leaves much to be desired, they have just as much chance of changing it as we humans do.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. I DOUBLE DARE YOU & BE NICE

Awww Mondays

Cooper Murphy dares Audrey to smack him. He is so confident she won’t, he turns his back on her. She does raise a paw but is too far away to make contact.

Sparks

I do not think my Spark needs any explanation, but I believe it does pair nicely with the Awww Mondays photos.

A quote from Germany Kent, "Be nice to people ... maybe it'll be unappreciated, unreciprocated, or ignored, but spread the love anyway. We rise by lifting others," on a grey background with a red heart surrounded by illustrative cats, dogs and a rabbit.

The author of today’s Spark, Germany Kent (née Evelyn Palmer), is a 50-year-old American journalist, best-selling author, (The Hope Handbook) actor, producer and philanthropist.

CELEBRATING DR. SEUSS & READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY

Sparks

Today is Dr. Seuss’s (Theodor Seuss Geisel) birthday as well as Read Across America Day. Kitties Blue and I always try to celebrate these occasions.

Periwinkle and Stinky are presenting today’s Spark, which is from Seuss. They have had two adventures that coincided with Seuss’s birthday. The photo is from their second adventure (LXXIII), which took place on March 1, 2021, at Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden in Springfield, Massachusetts. The sculpture is of Seuss and The Cat in the Hat.

Two cartoon baby cats, one dressed as The Cat on the Hat and the other has Horton present a Spark from Dr. Seuss for Read Across America Day, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better," while visiting Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.

We definitely know things must get better here is the U.S. and around the world. We all need to do what we can, even if that just means remaining positive and promoting good will and kindness.

Awww Mondays

For the Awww Mondays blog hop, I have created a graphic for Read Across America Day. Angel Mau, as Blue Fish, and Cooper Murphy, as the Lorax, are helping out in costumes they wore for a Cat Scout event. Audrey asked if she could join them as The Cat in the Hat, and I immediately said, “yes.”

A poster promoting Dr. Seuss and Read Across America Day with a stack of colorful books with titles from Dr. Seuss and three cats dressed in costumes of Seuss characters, The Cat in the Hat, Blue Fish and the Lorax.

Read Across America Day honors Dr. Seuss’s contributions to children’s literature and inspires a love of reading and lifelong reading habits among youngsters. The event was created in 1997 by the National Education Association (NEA). Additionally, the celebration highlights the joy of reading, storytelling and the importance of literacy for academic and personal growth. Today, the event not only includes books from Dr. Seuss but also from diverse authors and voices.

Angel Mau, Cooper Murphy and Audrey will be participating in the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. To join them, click on the Awww badge.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow our two, intrepid tabbies will be waiting for you to join them on their latest adventure. You’ll be able to find them right here, as it is Stinky’s turn to plan their itinerary. He has hinted at what he has planned, and I think it should not only be fun but informative as well. That means you do not want to miss the opportunity to join them. I know they will be looking for you.

Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two favorite, cartoon tabby cats.

ANOTHER OF GIBB’S CRAZY NAPPING POSITIONS

Awww Mondays

If you were here yesterday for Sunday Selfies, you saw Gibbs in one of his crazy sleeping positions. (If you missed it, click the link at the conclusion of this post.) Today, he is back in yet another one!

Black and white kitten shows one of his crazy napping positions atop his human's head.

I had collapsed after a Peloton ride, and Gibbs took the opportunity to nap atop me. He also does this in the middle of the night and purrs so loudly that he wakes me up.

Gibbs will be hopping over to Comedy Plus to join the Awww Mondays blog hop. If you would like to participate, click the Awww badge.

Sparks

This Spark would be appropriate at any time, but with the current unrest in the U.S. and so many other places, it seemed just right for today.

I found it on Instagram where the wife of one of my high school classmates had posted it.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. DO YOUR BEST & AN AWWW

Sparks

With the Winter Olympics currently being contested, I decided to choose a Spark appropriate to that event. I selected the following.

A photo of a sunset with a statue of the Olympic Rings with the following quote from H. Jackson Brown, Jr., "Life doesn’t require that we be the best, only that we try our best."

After creating that, I realized that today is President’s Day, and thought a Spark from one of our most influential and revered Presidents would be appropriate. Not surprisingly, I found a very similar quote from Abraham Lincoln.

A photo of Mt. Rushmore with the following quote from Abraham Lincoln, "I do the very best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep on doing so until the end."

I know I usually try my best, and I expect all of you reading this do as well. Wouldn’t it be nice if all citizens did the same? I shared a Spark from H. Jackson Brown, Jr., just a few weeks ago. If you want to know more about him, click here.

Springs are one of the kittens favorite toys. They have them spread throughout the house. I have no idea if this was Gibbs or Tali under the furniture retrieving that spring. A panda statue half buried in the snow with the following quote from Anthony J. D'Angelo, "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine."

Today is the one day each year when I pray there is no sun. We have had enough winter already, and I don’t want that dang groundhog seeing his shadow. I fear, however, that it is inevitable.

I shared a different Spark from this same individual on April 9, 2018. He is the founder of Collegiate EmPowerment and has dedicated his life to helping young adults create a life worth living. D’Angelo set out on his vision to transform American Higher Education in 1995 at the age of 23. According to D’Angelo, “Most students go to school and get a degree but not an education.”
