CELEBRATING DR. SEUSS & READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY

Sparks

Today is Dr. Seuss’s (Theodor Seuss Geisel) birthday as well as Read Across America Day. Kitties Blue and I always try to celebrate these occasions.

Periwinkle and Stinky are presenting today’s Spark, which is from Seuss. They have had two adventures that coincided with Seuss’s birthday. The photo is from their second adventure (LXXIII), which took place on March 1, 2021, at Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden in Springfield, Massachusetts. The sculpture is of Seuss and The Cat in the Hat.

Two cartoon baby cats, one dressed as The Cat on the Hat and the other has Horton present a Spark from Dr. Seuss for Read Across America Day, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better," while visiting Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.

We definitely know things must get better here is the U.S. and around the world. We all need to do what we can, even if that just means remaining positive and promoting good will and kindness.

Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”

Awww Mondays

For the Awww Mondays blog hop, I have created a graphic for Read Across America Day. Angel Mau, as Blue Fish, and Cooper Murphy, as the Lorax, are helping out in costumes they wore for a Cat Scout event. Audrey asked if she could join them as The Cat in the Hat, and I immediately said, “yes.”

Read Across America Day honors Dr. Seuss’s contributions to children’s literature and inspires a love of reading and lifelong reading habits among youngsters. The event was created in 1997 by the National Education Association (NEA). Additionally, the celebration highlights the joy of reading, storytelling and the importance of literacy for academic and personal growth. Today, the event not only includes books from Dr. Seuss but also from diverse authors and voices.

Angel Mau, Cooper Murphy and Audrey will be participating in the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. To join them, click on the Awww badge.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

Tomorrow our two, intrepid tabbies will be waiting for you to join them on their latest adventure. You’ll be able to find them right here, as it is Stinky’s turn to plan their itinerary. He has hinted at what he has planned, and I think it should not only be fun but informative as well. That means you do not want to miss the opportunity to join them. I know they will be looking for you.

Our Angel Sawyer continues to live through these adventures as his alter-ego Stinky, and it would mean so much to Mom Sharon, Noelle and myself if you would continue to follow our two favorite, cartoon tabby cats.

Thanks for stopping in to see us today. We always appreciate your visits and support.
