Sunday Selfies: Week #190

We are going to keep this short, as we know you want to enjoy the holiday and not spend a lot of time reading.

We have two hosts today. Just as Lisbeth had hoped her boyfriend Charles would see and like her art yesterday, your selfie hosts are hoping the same thing.

Astrid and Mau are here to send love and Easter greetings to their spouses, Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles) and Allie (Friends Furever).

Easter Sunday Selfies

All the Kitties Blue, Dad Tom and I wish everyone a happy and blessed holiday whether you are celebrating Easter or Passover.

Caturday Art

This is not the original art Lisbeth and I created for today. Though we used the same photo, which we both liked, the colors of our original creation were quite dark. After we put it in our post, both of us realized tomorrow is Easter and we should create something bright and springy. The finished product is definitely vibrant and also looks as if some kitty got carried away with the Easter egg dye. Nonetheless, we like it. As always, Lisbeth hopes her beau, Charles, will as well.

Lisbeth's Easter Art

I always like to tell you how I created our art, but I kept bouncing around from app to app this week, so I can only give you the barest of details. We started in Painnt with the Starry Painting effect. I did manipulate that quite a lot with the various settings available. Next I add the Beauty art filter from LunaPic and the metallic texture and floral border from piZap. By that time the colors had faded quite a bit, so I took the the photo into Picassa and bumped up the saturation, for a more vibrant effect, and then added the blue borders. The last step was to add the flower cut-outs in piZap.

The original photo shows Lisbeth enjoying a sunpuddle on one of the last days of winter. In fact, it was one of the few sunny days we had all winter. I absolutely love how the sun was shining through her ears and turned them bright pink. They almost look like bunny ears!

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Tomorrow is not only our Sunday Selfies blog hop but also Easter. I have no idea which of the Kitties Blue will be here. I do know whichever kitty is here, they will take the opportunity to Easterize their selfie. Though not necessary, I hope you will do the same. It will make for a very colorful and festive hop.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Sunday Selfies: Week #140

Easter Sunday Selfies in Shades

The tale of Phoebe’s Traveling Sunglasses continues today with our Sunday Selfies blog hop. Last Sunday Calista Jo was the model. This week we have three models, Mauricio, Giulietta and Lily Olivia. As you can see the girls were a bit more cooperative than Mauricio. This photo shoot was totally reminiscent of the recent Bobble Hat debacle. Though it may appear as if I am strangling him, no cat was harmed during this photo shoot.

We have four additional kitties to get in the shades before we send them on to the next stop on the tour. I believe that those remaining may need to be approached while they are sleeping. as I do not expect any cooperation.

Cat4-001This is our Sunday Selfies blog hop. Though it is a holiday, we hope many of you who hop with us regularly will join us today. And newcomers are always welcome to join in the fun. After all, what better day to hop than Easter. The link to add your selfie to the hop is below. You may also add the hop to your selfies post as well if you’d like.  If you do so would you please do us the courtesy of displaying our badge and/or linking back to The Cat on My Head. Thank you!

Mauricio & Cooper Murphy wish everyone a Happy Easter

Sunday Selfies: Week #85

Hey, hey…it’s Misty May here for the Easter holiday.

Misty May's Easter Sunday Selfie

Misty May doesn’t take a selfie very often, so I am excited that she is here representing and hosting for Easter. Easter or Spring Holiday, as Dad Tom calls it, is quiet at our house. Tom is always out of town for The Asics Big South Volleyball National Qualifier in Atlanta.

Whether you celebrate Easter or not at your home, we wish you a blessed and sunny day with lots of chocolate eggs and bunnies for the humans, nip for the kitties and treaties for all the other critters.

Cat4-001If you’re not too busy celebrating, hope you’ll join our blog hop. As always, the kitties and I encourage you to invite your friends to join in and to include the hop on your blog. Please just link back to The Cat on My Head and/or display our badge. And if you have any trouble linking up, leave a comment and I’ll link up for you.

Still Working on Our Site

You may notice that our site continues to change. When I tried to update the site to the newest version of WordPress, the files would not upload. Not being in the mood to mess with that process anymore at this point, I continue to try to clean up the site. Our Remembering Friends section, which had been on the sidebar, now has it’s own page as does the Universal Bill of Rights for All Cats (a must read if you missed it) from our recent post of the same name. I will be moving other items from the sidebar to individual pages as well. All of these can be accessed from the menu at the top of each page.

Wishing you all a

Happy Easter and Spring Holiday!

I was hanging out with Mom most of yesterday, so she coerced me into taking selfies for our special Easter Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. Actually, I am not complaining as she added my photos to this super beautiful Easter card and made me feel extra special.

I really hope y’all like my selfies and will add your own to our Blog Hop. Also, please feel free to add the hop to your blog with the code you can pick up below. We only request that you display our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop badge and/or link back to The Cat on My Head.

If you have any difficulty adding your link, leave us a message in the Comments, and my mom will add it for you.

We are taking the day off so our mom can post something super embarrassing. We have to blame our furiend, Spitty‘s, mom, Mary, as she’s the one who gave our mom the idea. Mom Mary posted an Easter photo of a friend and herself from their childhood.

Though this post is about our mom, we kitties agreed to do the writing.

Mom always says that she sees her life through photographs. The one she is sharing she sees everyday. It is in the family/friend photo gallery in our foyer.

When Mom was growing up, her paternal grandmother was the photographer for the family. If she didn’t attend an event, no photos were taken. Whenever Mom was staying with her grandparents, which was often everyday, she would spend hours looking at her grandma’s photo albums. If an event occurred for which there were no photos, Mom says that it seems as if it never really happened.

Without further blathering or setting the scene, here is the photo as it would have looked in Mom’s grandmother’s album.

This was Mom and her sister, Judy. The photo was taken on Easter in 1953 when Mom was four and her sister almost eleven. What do you think of those matching dresses? As far as our mom remembers, it was the only time they were ever dressed alike.

With their age difference, Mom and her sister were never very close until they were well into adulthood, and by that time Mom was living in Virginia while her sister remained in California. Judy died several years ago…so now Mom remembers their lives through photographs.

We are posting this today as we will be joining Athena and Marie‘s Caturday Art Blog Hop on Saturday and hosting our Sunday Selfies Blog Hop on Easter Sunday.

We also are joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday Blog Hop.

Friendship Friday at Create With Joy

Wishing everyone who celebrates this holiday a very Happy Easter.

Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

This may be a special day for humans, but Calista Jo has decided to treat it like any other Sunday.

Even though our Calista has decided to sleep the day away, all the Kitties Blue and our humans are wishing you a blessed, happy and sunny Easter.

Much to Mauricio’s dismay, our Caturday Art for this week began with a photo of him in a very girly Easter Bonnet. The original, unaltered photo was for the Easter Bonnet Contest at Cat Scouts.

To create today’s art, I used an Easter collage frame from piZap and then added one of the auto-fix filters (included in the program) to give it a more ethereal look. (Mauricio says that he didn’t think I could make him look even more feminine but somehow I succeeded, and he likes the photo even less now.)

As usual, we are joining Athena Cat Goddess’ Caturday Art Blog Hop. To participate or view the other entries, please click on the badge at the left.
