LISBETH’S ON GUARD & FILL-INS

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #209

It’s time for the Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). The sentences to be filled in can be found each Thursday on both their blogs. If you decide to participate, the filled-in sentences should be posted on Friday. To enter the blog hop, click on the badge at the left. It will take you to Four-Legged Furballs.

Sawyer volunteered to complete #1. Both our fill-ins are in teal italics with explanatory notes in parentheses.

1. Sawyer: I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Temptations factory. (Not for the purpose of listening in or spying on them, but for eating my fill, of course,)

2. I am missing seeing my friends.

3. I could use more hugs in my life.

4. I could do without our current President and his insane ideas and comments. (If I have offended anyone with this comment, I apologize.)

Feline Friday

Lisbeth is in the front window taking her turn guarding the house. She is also joining the Feline Friday blog hop at Comedy Plus. Click on the badge below her photo to participate.

LOAFIN’ SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #299

When it comes to loafin’, there is no better day than Sunday. And no kitty does it better than I do. I am the champion. It is my go-to position, which you’d see if you look back through old blog posts. None of the other Kitties Blue do it as often or as well as I do.

Time to Hop

I bet you didn’t expect that to come so quickly. But not only am I a terrific loafer, I also am a cat of few words.

You can link up your selfie below. And you don’t even have to post today to participate. If you can display our badge or link back to us, that would be great. Finally, if you want to invite your friends to join in the fun, all the other Kitties Blue and I would be so thankful. After all, this is a great place to make new friends.

Thanks to all who continue to join us every week as well as to any newbies.

Purrs and paw-pats, Lisbeth (with love & kisses for my special guy, Charles)

BOXING DAY WITH THANKFULS & SOME POETRY

Boxing Day First

Mau received a really terrific present from his dearest wife Allie, but, of course, he had to try out the box. (Sorry for the blurry photo.)

Thankful Thursday

What better day to fall after Christmas Day than Thankful Thursday. The kitties, Dad Tom and I had a wonderfully quiet day. There were terrific gifts all the way around. Lisbeth especially enjoyed this Christmas tree bed from Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats). She is the official bed quality control officer of the Kitties Blue crew.

It also was an incredibly beautiful day, which I talk about in one of the three poems I wrote for today.

All of us are super thankful for the snail and e-mail Christmas cards we have received from our blogging friends. If we had your snail mail address, we have sent you a card that way. If you live outside the USA, we hope it will arrive before Valentine’s Day. I posted our e-card yesterday. If you missed it, click on the link at the bottom of this post. Please take a copy if you’d like one.

Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by Brian. To join the hop, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then click on the badge below to hop over to Brian’s.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Each week our friends, Teddy and Angel Sammy, post an inspiration photo for their followers who are fans of and like to write poetry. Here’s the photo for this week.

I couldn’t decide what I wanted to write, so I am presenting you with two haikus and one poem.

Haiku #1

A sleigh ride is fun
But these horses’ asses stink
Should have brought gas masks

Haiku #2

Dashing through the snow
More like plodding through the snow
Slow trip to grandma’s

Christmas Now & Then

No snow for us on Christmas this year.
The sun was out and skies clear.
It was 60 degrees, felt like spring,
Made our mom downright giddy.
Growing up in California it was rarely cold,
And at Christmas it never once snowed.
So she felt just as she did as a child,
When Christmas was always sunny and mild.

If you’d like to participate in Thoroughly Poetic Thursday, click the badge below. You will find the photo for next week’s poem as well as a poem written by Angel Sammy for this week’s photo. He is the poet in the family and transmits his poem to Teddy each week from the Rainbow Bridge. And he is a most wonderful poet.

Happy Boxing day to all. Hope our feline friends received oodles of boxes in which to enjoy the day.

MAU DELIVERS A SPARK OF FRIENDSHIP

Sparks

Today’s Spark is from Thomas Jefferson and delivered with exuberance by Mau.

Mau is a friend to all the other Kitties Blue, except perhaps his sister, Misty May. They were close as kittens but through the years have developed a true sibling rivalry.

Once again Mau and Lisbeth were sharing the coveted kitchen sunpuddle. With the heated kitchen floor they can warm both their topsides and bottom sides at the same time. Pretty much the equivalent of kitty heaven.

Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie is taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

Awww Mondays

Mau and Lisbeth are hoping over to see Sandee and join her Awww Monday’s blog hop at Comedy Plus. If you would like to participate, click on the badge below.

The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky

This fun-loving, tabby duo will return tomorrow with the next installment in their adventure series. It is Stinky’s week to post, and I know both he and Periwinkle will be looking forward to seeing you here tomorrow.

LOVELY LISBETH

Sunday Selfies: Week #278

I have for you today, a Christmas-themed selfie.

Today’s selfie is the result of a compromise with my mom. Whenever I want her warmed seat at the kitchen island, I get in her face and start rubbing my cheeks all over her face. When she tries to pet me, I back away. Then if she ignores me, I put my paw on her cheek. Eventually I will annoy her with my cat-and-mouse-human game, and she will get up, leaving me a nicely warmed seat.

Yesterday, before she got to the point of complete annoyance, we struck a deal. I agreed to take a selfie, and she agreed to give me her seat. She tried to get a photo of me going for her chair, but she was a tad too slow and just got my butt.

Hop Time

Now that I have shown you my selfie, it is time for you to share yours with us and all your admirers.

We are grateful to every single one of you who join our hop and support us. Mom says that had we not made so many exceptional friends during this process, she knows we would no longer be blogging. So…thank you!

Purrs and paw-pats, Lisbeth (with kisses and love for my sweet boyfriend Charles)

GREEN-EYED SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #273

When Mom was looking through this week’s photos to see if any of us had taken a selfie, she discovered none of us had. I’m not really certain what she was expecting. She knows we are not fans of these ego-based photos of ourselves; though, we certainly enjoy seeing those of our blog hop participants.

Anyhoo, she started browsing her photo archives and found this absolutely fabulous selfie of me from September 2017. After some investigation, she discovered it had never been posted. Can you believe it…a fabulous selfie like this forgotten? Personally, I am dumfounded.

But here it is now for your admiration and hopefully that of my boyfriend Charles as well.

LISBETH’S LOVE SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #213

I was hanging out with Mom yesterday, giving her lots of attention and asking for love. She had no problem giving me what I wanted, but she said I had to do one little thing for all of you…take a selfie. I snapped about ten photos with her cell phone. I definitely do not have the photographic talents our dad has, but I managed to get one decent selfie, albeit without my ears tips.

I had Mom help me find a nice frame with some hearts so I could turn it into a card for my boyfriend Charles. I sure hope he, as well as all of you, like it.

LISBETH’S HEART ART

Caturday Art

Charles included a cute, red, teddy bear as part of the treasure trove of birthday gifts he sent me. He told me he has one as well, and it was his favorite of the gifts. Mom thought it would be nice to take some photos of me with the bear so I could send one to Charles. As she was the one taking those photos, they didn’t turn out very well. Because of this, I asked her to turn one of the photos into today’s art for Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. I didn’t know she’d select a Valentine in August theme.

Lisbeth's Heart Art

She did a whole “bunch of stuff” to the photo using Tuxpi and PicMonkey, but you can still see me using red teddy for a pillow. I knew this would ensure glorious dreams of my wonderful boyfriend.

Here’s the original photo from which our art was created. I was on the next to highest perch on the cat tree in our dining room. I have claimed that as “my place” and spend most of my napping time there.

If you’d like to be part of this amazing blog hop, create something “arty” using any photo-editing app. Many free ones are available on the internet. To go to Athena’s blog, click on her badge.

I’d like to take this opportunity, once again, to thank Charles for his love and generosity.

Sunday Selfies Blog Hop Reminder

Tomorrow begins year five of our selfies hop. Kitties Blue and Mom are all pretty amazed that so many friends continue to join us Sunday after Sunday…surprised and grateful. We particularly appreciate all those who joined us last Sunday for the fourth anniversary of the hop.

I have been tasked to remind you to get those selfies taken for the hop tomorrow so you don’t have to interrupt your Easy Sunday to do it. I have no idea which of the Kitties Blue will be your host, so you’ll have to join us to find out. Until tomorrow…

Purrs and paw-pats, Lisbeth (with oodles of smooches, love and thanks to Charles)
