Christmas is coming, the cats are already fat and sassy, and I am featuring our large (nine-foot) Christmas tree for today’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. We have three trees. This one is in the living room behind closed doors as it has all my glass ornaments on it. The second is the one you see to the left and behind this tree. It is on the other side of the pocket doors in the dining room. The kitties have access to that Christmas tree as it contains unbreakable ornaments.
The third tree is called Twinkle’s Tree. Twinkle is one of our angel kitties who lost her life to a car. Twinkle’s tree started as a two-foot tall, table-top tree but has grown over the years and is now a four-foot tree, also with unbreakable ornaments. It would be impossible for me to deny the kitties access to a tree dedicated to one of their predecessors.
All our Christmas trees are now artificial. It is less expensive, more convenient and avoids allergic reactions by the kitties and me. And Tom avoids the hours of watching me traipse through tree lots and farms searching for just the right tree.
To create the art today, I added a radiance filter in PicMonkey and a frame in PiZap. I didn’t want to do too much to disguise my beautiful tree. Here’s the original photo. It is easier to see the smaller tree in the dining room behind the pocket door windows in this photo.
When it comes to decorating, it is all about the lights to me. Our house has lots of leaded glass windows which refract the light and send it dancing all through the house.
We are joining Athena and Marie’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. It’s a fun way to explore your creativity, and I highly recommend joining. To submit art of your own or view the other submissions, click on the badge to the left.
Tomorrow is Sunday, and you all know what that means: Time for selfies and our weekly blog hop. It might be fun to submit a selfie wearing your favorite holiday apparel. This is, of course, is not a requirement but merely a suggestion. Hope o see you then.
What a gorgeous tree!!! Mom can’t wait to grow our Christmas decoration collection so that we can have multiple trees and lots of lights. Mom and Dad love lights a lot too – they have the inside and outside of our house decked in lights. Love your beautiful trees! Merry Christmas to you all!
Sampy sends a kiss to Astrid for every light on in your house.

Three trees!! Holy man, that’s a lot of trees. I’m glad there is a least one for the kitties but if I understand you….there are two trees for kitties. If I am allowed to grab what I want then I don’t tend to keep grabbing it…I’m allowed…no fun there. It’s the. “Oh no, not that ornament”, that I want. hehehe

Oh wow, they are gorgeous! Momma has her tree still in the garage, she hasn’t even put up the reef on the door yet…. We are not on Christmas mood this year…. It’s hard when you don’t have family around….
Your tree is exactly what Mommy pictures a classic Christmas to be!

Our wee trees look ditsy, MOL!!
Um…we couldn’t even put up a 6 foot tree, much less a nine footer, wowee!!

Wow, we are in awe of your tree and lights, how beautiful! I would like to know if I could move in to your house and admire the tree with F & G since my Human has never let me have my own tree? I will give you plenty of googly eyes and cuddles if you say yes, Mom Janet…let me know, will ya?

What a beautiful tree. One of the reasons that decorating a tree is so wonderful is because as you unwrap the ornaments each year you remember from year to year where they originated from. I always thought that decorating a tree was a memory making moment. You have given your trees such magnificence. The graphic you created only enhances the beauty already there.
That is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!
THAT is an awesome tree. Absolutely the most beautiful I have seen done by “real” people and not commercially.
Once what a gorgeous tree and to think you have three trees. Ours is artifical too for ease on the humans. Thank you for sharing that tree with us.
Yup, the peeps know ’bout the artificial trees. One Christmas, I am told, the live tree had a truck too wide to fit in the stand and Peep #1 was left with a real ol’ sappy mess, tryin’ to whittle off enough to get it to fit. Very next Christmas, an artificial tree was purchased.
