A DARK & MYSTERIOUS COOPER MURPHY

Our handsome Cooper Murphy is here today in an arty portrait. Though, the creation is dark and mysterious; I think he is still recognizable as our elder ginger tabby.

A ginger tabby cat (Cooper Murphy) has turned dark and mysterious for The Caturday Art blog hop.

To create the art I used the Crotompectra effect from Painnt with grain merge from Color Composition. To that I added the Warp filter from piZap at about 35 percent. The frame is from the favpng app.

I created a puzzle for all our jigsaw fans. Hope you enjoy completing it.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

So, after last week’s fiasco, I can only hope that we are having a blog hop tomorrow. For those of you who don’t know, at some point last Sunday evening the hop totally disappeared. When I checked Linky Tools, it was no longer in my index of each week’s hops, and the code for it was missing. I still had the code and reloaded it to the post, but it would only show up in draft form. I then tried to get a new code, so anyone who hadn’t joined could and those who already had could rejoin if they wanted to do so. That code also would only show up in draft form and not on the published post.

Honestly, I have no idea what to expect tomorrow. I will definitely be doing some testing early in the day. And one of the kitties will be taking a selfie … which one is anybody’s guess.

With all that said, Kitties Blue and I will be looking for you tomorrow if we have a link to a hop. I am apologizing in advance if that doesn’t happen.

The cats and I thank you for joining us today. We are supposed to have a lovely day here with a temperature in the 70s, which means I will be heading to the yard to continue cleaning up after the mess of winter. Whatever you have planned, enjoy yourselves.

DELICATE SNUGGLY ART

I hope you all are not tired of seeing the kittens. They are supremely photogenic and do not seem to mind having their photo taken. So, they are back again in some snuggly Caturday Art.

Kitties Blue enjoy playing in the Cattasaurus. It is fun to chase each other or a spring around on the inside. I shared a photo of Gibbs and Tali playing smacky paw through the little cat-shaped cutout in, “Everything is a Game.”

TWO TABBIES ART

Today’s art was created from a photo of tabbies, Cooper Murphy and now angel Sawyer, napping together on February 16, 2018. Sawyer had been with us only a couple of months and was still a little guy. He was using his big brofur for a pillow. Cooper was much more amicable back then.

To create today’s art, I used the “ridiculousness” effect from Painnt. I bumped the saturation and used Lomo coloring. And, as always, the frame is from the favpng app.

VALENTINE’S DAY ART 2026

Valentine’s Day Caturday Art

My art today includes nine of our angel cats. All but two, Chloe and Madison, were part of the Kitties Blue crew when I began the blog in 2012. There are seven other angels, Skooter, Steamer, Daphne, Thelma, Louise, Twinkle and MacKenzie, not included. They all have been greatly loved and are missed.

WAITING FOR THE BIRDS

Tali is a huge fan of the birds* just like all the other Kitties Blue. She is an incredible “chatterer” when she spots them. She is hanging out in Audrey and Kizmet’s favorite observation spot. The original photo was taken prior to our recent snow/sleet event. We will be living with the mess of that for the unforeseeable future, as our daily temperatures have and will remain below freezing.

It snowed again yesterday and is in the forecast for today and part of Sunday. We are not expecting, however, to get much more accumulation.

To create today’s art, I used the Blue Impmoea effect from Painnt. To that I added the Lomo coloring. I had no idea what an impmoea was and so looked it up and found out that is the proper name for morning glory, which I grow every summer (as it reseeds itself). So, to enhance the art, I added an overlay of morning glories from the favpng app at about 50 percent. The flowers are most evident in the lower left corner of the photo. The frame is also from favpng.

This is definitely one of my favorites of my recent creations.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

I don’t know how the rest of you feel, but I cannot believe tomorrow’s hop will land on the first day of February. The year is already speeding past. I do know which of the Kitties Blue will be taking up hosting duties tomorrow. The only hint I am willing to offer is that it will be one of the girls.

We really do want to see you tomorrow (or any time through Thursday) on the hop. After all, what else is there to do on a Sunday afternoon when the weather is so lousy? Of course, napping is always a possibility, but you will still have plenty of time for that.

ANTIQUE JEWELRY ART

Caturday Art

Audrey is the subject of today’s Caturday Art.

Tabby cat in an oval flowered and gold frame in bold colors resembling a piece of antique jewelry.

To create the art, I used the Sand Dollar effect from Painnt and tinkered with all the basic edits, e.g., hue, contrast, saturation. To that I added the Abstract filter from piZap at 75 percent. The frame is from the favpng app.

I think the frame turned the art into a piece of jewelry, as it reminds me of an antique brooch. If it actually was one, I would wear it everyday!

I created a puzzle without the frame for all our jigsaw fans.

I have more kitten art today. This is one of the terrorists that was adopted last weekend. I still have lots of photos of those kitties to share, as well as lots of Gibbs and Tali. Both Dad Tom and I

need to get some photos of our other fur kids.

NAPPING KITTEN ART

Gibbs is back again today as the subject of Caturday Art. He was lying on Dad Tom’s legs napping when the photo was snapped.

Gibbs currently weighs in at 5.2 pounds. He had his neuter surgery and got his microchip and next group of vaccines on Thursday. None of it slowed him down for even a second. He and Tali are obsessed with springs, which they quickly lose under furniture and appliances. I gave them ten more yesterday thanks to a gift for Sawyer from his girlfriend Noelle and Mom Sharon (Friends Furever).

To create the art I used the Galle effect with vivid coloring from Painnt. As always, the frame is from the favpng app.

I did create a puzzle as well.
