Caturday Art

I have kittens (Gibbs and Tali) as the subject of today’s art.  They were in the bedroom cat tree. That is Gibbs in front and Tali in the back. They and the other four kittens are given separate playtimes outside their enclosures at least a couple times everyday. It’s the only way to wear them out sufficiently. I would love to let Gibbs and Tali have their freedom, but we have no way to close off access to the second floor, and there are way too many small spaces where a kitten could hide.

I created the art using the Shattered effect from Painnt and then changed the hue and added vivid coloring to the effect. The frame is from the favpng app as is the flower, which I added.

Of course, I had to make a puzzle, for those of you who enjoy them as much as I do. Puzzling of any sort is one of the three things I enjoy doing for relaxation. The others are reading and coloring.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Tomorrow is the last Sunday of 2025. Can you believe it? I sure can’t! As we age, it feels as if the days, months and years zip by faster and faster. I truly wish there was a way to slow down the passing of time. As a champion procrastinator, I have wasted so much time that I will never get back. I am sad about that, but I am too old to change now.

Anyhoo, Kitties Blue and I hope you will take the opportunity to join us on our last hop of the year. As always, you have through Thursday (the first day of 2026) to participate. So, if you don’t post on Sunday, it’s no big deal. You can link up when it’s convenient. We love seeing your adorable faces each week, so please try to join us.

Caturday Art

Gibbs and Tali and the two little ginger kitties, which should be with their new mom in just a couple more days, have been having play time in the big bathroom. During one of those sessions, Dad Tom snapped this photo of Gibbs. What he is looking at is a stuffed hedgehog cat toy.

To turn Gibbs into art, I used the LSD effect from Painnt. To that I added the Flower Power filter from piZap at 100 percent. If, like me, you were in your teens in the 1960s, you know that LSD, flower power and psychedelia with its kaleidoscopic colors were all tied together. Finally, the frame is another from the favpng app.

Gibbs does have a puzzle for you who are fans of jigsaws.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Wow, only a couple more Sundays before we start a new year of selfies. We have been doing this now for more than 11 years, which I find rather mind boggling. I cannot think of anything I have done for more years than this blog and selfies, other than going to school, being a USA Volleyball National and International Scorekeeper and being married. I don’t think our Sunday Selfies will top any of those, but it is still a rather impressive record. And that is all because of YOU! Your dedication and willingness to participate have kept it alive all this time. So, thank you!

With all that said, Kitties Blue and I hope you’ll be back tomorrow and join us for week #591 of selfies. You’ll have the opportunity to see just how much one of the now not-so-tiny terrorists has changed since arriving here two months ago. Until then …

Caturday Art

We sure hope you aren’t growing tired of seeing kittens, as they are with us for at least another seven to eight weeks. I would like to identify them by name, but we have not given them any. That may or may not happen while they are under our care. I can tell you that I call the kitten on the far right, as you look at the photo, grabby paws.

To create today’s art, I used the Enchanting effect from Painnt followed by the Bubbly filter from piZap and a frame from favpng.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

Yep, it’s that time again. Time to spruce up those furs, feathers, scales or whatever you are sporting  as an exterior cover-up. I am hoping to get one of the Kitties Blue to be your host for the hop. If they had idea we are harboring a garage full of interlopers, I am fairly certain the only thing I would get for asking any of them to host is a huge raspberry.

Today’s art features four of the kittens in a photo I shared here on Wednesday.

I used the Escapism effect from Painnt. I bumped the saturation a tiny bit and added vivid coloring. The frame is from the favpng app.

I didn’t create a puzzle, as it would have too much white space around the frame. I did create a puzzle yesterday. If you would like to construct it, click on the link to yesterday’s post at the bottom of this one.
