All American Pet Photo Day

Stinky is busy gathering supplies for today’s “adventure” when he hears rumbling from the teleportation tunnel and scampers to the foyer to catch Periwinkle as she tumbles out with the familiar whoosh. She is giggling and throws her paws around Stinky’s neck. She gives him a big whisker kiss and, as usual, asks, “What is the plan for today’s adventure?”

“I hope you won’t be disappointed, but we are staying right here. It is so dang hot, I really don’t feel like going anywhere,” Stinky replies.

“Are we just going to hang out on the catio?”

“Nope, I do have a project for us. We are going to make something for our moms.”

“Cool, what is it?”

All American Pet Photo Day

Stinky explains that today is All American Pet Photo Day, and since they are all-American cats, he wants to make some scrapbook pages for their moms with some of their favorite photos of themselves and their alter egos, Noelle and Sawyer. Stinky tells Periwinkle, “I know my mom posted some scrapbook pages previously, but it was two years ago when I was on my walkabout. So I know we have lots of other photos from more recent adventures.”

Periwinkle treplies, “I think that is a great idea for such a hot day. Let’s get to work.”

“Thanks for understanding. You can use my mom’s laptop to select photos you want to use, and I will use the iPad. I have them set up on the kitchen island.”

Periwinkle and Stinky head to the kitchen and get busy selecting photos and creating their scrapbook pages. They chatter as they work, telling each other about their week.

Scrapbook Pages

When they each have finished three pages, the tabbies take turns sharing with each other. Stinky lets Periwinkle go first.

“That is really pretty, Periwinkle, and I your photo selections are purrfect,” exclaims Stinky. “Now it’s my turn.”

“Stinky, I love that you included Noelle and Sawyer. And that Tortola adventure is one of my very favorites. I’ve included a photo from it on my next page. I also included Sawyer and Noelle.”

“Very nice, Noelle. Here’s my second page.”

“Oh goody, you included Raleigh and Audrey. We sure have had a lot of fun adventures, Stinky, but I always loved visiting with the kittens. It is hard to believe their Gotcha Day is in just a couple of weeks. Here’s my last page.”

“That was so nice of you to include a photo of us in Mau and Allie’s garden. I know our moms will really like that,” Stinky tells Periwinkle. I have my final page to share.”

“What wonderful times we have had together, Stinky. I know I am looking forward to lots more adventures. I think this was purrfect for All American Pet Photo Day. Is it time for a snack?”

“Yep. Let me clear off the island.”

“Excellent selections. When we finish, we can share some with your fursibs.”

After their snack, Periwinkle and Stinky take treats to the catio to share, and Periwinkle visits with Stinky’s family. Unfortunately, after that, it is time for Periwinkle to head home. The two tabbies spend a very long time paw hugging and whisker kissing before Periwinkle enters the teleportation tunnel. As she enters, the two blow each other a kiss, and she is gone in a whoosh.

The End

Periwinkle & Stinky are going to join the Happy Tuesday blog hop at Comedy Plus. Click on the badge below if you would like to do the same.

Sorry we were missing again yesterday. We don’t know why our mom is being such a slacker lately. She told us she was super tired, but that sounds totally lame to us. Anyhoo, we are going to try to make up today for yesterday.

Caturday Art: Meowin’ Like a Pirate Day

Peg-Legged Sebastian Vargas (Cooper Murphy) and Captain Stinky One-Eyed Biggs (Sawyer) discovered this pirate and his keg of rum and decided to join up with him (at least for the day).

Pirate Cats

The boys look a little innocent to be much good as pirates. But, on this day every year, even the most gentle cat gets the “guts” to swagger, guzzle grog, and speak funny while injecting the word “arrrgh,” into every other sentence.

This is our entry in the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by the lovely Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty. If you’d like to do the same or just view some art by your fellow bloggers, click on Athena’s badge.

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #226

With our mom slacking off yesterday, we didn’t get to post the fill-ins, so we have them today.

Sawyer helped complete the fill-ins this week. Both he and Mom used teal italics.

1. SAWYER: If you are looking for your toys, try under the refrigerator.

2. Each day Sawyer doesn’t have a seizure fills me with hope.

3. SAWYER: It’s only a matter of time before I have a seizure; though, I have my paws crossed it isn’t anytime soon.

4. Cats is are my favorite conversation topic.

Friendly Fill-Ins is a Friday blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). They each select two sentences with blanks for participants to “fill in.” The intent is to give us the opportunity to learn a bit more about our fellow bloggers. If you’d like to join in, you can find the sentences to be completed on both blogs on Thursday. To participate, click on the badge below, which will take you to Four-Legged Furballs.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Mom promised on Misty May and Angel Mau’s birthday that she would post a poem on Friday. And then she didn’t even write a post for Friday. With apologies to Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats), we are foregoing the poem this week. The inspiration photo was totally adorable, and we regret missing this week.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

We can promise that one of us will be here tomorrow to host our Sunday Selfies blog hop. And, of course, all of us will be looking forward to seeing each of your selfies. We truly appreciate your participation and support, and if you’ve never given the selfie a try, go for it tomorrow. This is a great place to meet and make new friends.

Thanks for stopping in to see us today.

Sunday Selfies: Week #314

Bet you missed me in this photo, unless you looked really closely. Mom asked me to take a selfie while I was sitting on her lap blocking her from reading her e-book. I agreed, but I didn’t know I was going to be photobombed by Cooper Murphy’s gigantic (over-lit) belly. Pffft! If Mom had been nice, she would have edited him right out of this photo. For that matter, she could have easily removed herself as well. Double Pffft!

Sixth Anniversary Selfies Survey

We began our Sunday Selfies blog hop on Sunday, August 17, 2014, (Lisbeth’s and my birthday). Six years is a long time for a blog hop, so we have a short (four question) survey for you in order to determine if we should continue, and if so, how often.

Click HERE to take our survey.

We’ll let you know next Sunday what you all decide.

Hopping Time

It’s now time for you to join the hop by linking up your selfie. We look forward to seeing your adorable faces each week as do all your friends and followers. We’d love for you to display our badge or link back to The Cat on My Head. As a reminder, it is not necessary to post on Sunday to join the hop. The hop remains open through Thursday. We appreciate each of you for joining us whether you are a regular or a newbie.

Birthday Party Tuesday

Normally we wouldn’t be posting on Tuesday, as it is Stinky and Periwinkle’s week to have their adventure at Friends Furever, which they will. But we’ll be here as well celebrating Lisbeth’s and my ninth birthday. Cooper Murphy has taken over Mau’s Cat Scout Bake Shop, so he’ll be creating our cake. Please stop by and party with us as well as visit Friends Furever for “The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky.”

Purrs and paw-pats, Astrid (with kisses for Sampy)

Caturday Art

All American Pet Photo Day

All American Pet Photo Day encourages pet owners to share their favorite pet photos on July 11th. Of course, we share photos everyday, and on Caturday, we share artified photos and join the Caturday Art blog hop hosted by Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty.

Today’s photo was taken on the catio and includes, Mau, Cooper Murphy Astrid, Calista Jo and some fresh nip. When I edited the photo all but Astrid mostly disappeared. Here’s the original.

To create the art, I used the Leather texture and an ovrelay from piZap.

If you would like to join the Kitties Blue Nip Crew on the blog hop, click on Athena’s badge.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

It’s time again tomorrow for Kitties Blue Sunday Selfies blog hop. If you haven’t snapped your photo yet, get it done now. You don’t want to interrupt your Easy Sunday nap just to take a selfie. Our selfie host is unknown at this time. You’ll need to join us tomorrow to see who it is.

We are all melted here with day after day of 90+ degree temps, and we have the same forecast for all next week. We know many of you are experiencing the same or even worse, so try to stay cool and hydrated.

See y’all tomorrow.
