Two-Fur

SISTERS SHARE A TWO-FUR

Sunday Selfies: Week #103

Sisters Fiona and Giulietta present a twofur for the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.

Today I have a two-fur of the most gorgeous sisters, Fiona and Giulietta. I selected this frame in PhotoFunia not knowing the photo would be turned into a painting as well. Aren’t they exquisite? It makes me sad to know they will not grow old together. They love each other so much. Even on these hot days they can be found cuddled together.

Today I worked in the yard for a couple of hours. Even though it was super H-O-T, I allowed Fiona to join me as she loves it so much. It was wonderful to see her exploring and enjoying herself. Watching her roll around on the driveway relishing the coolness of the concrete warmed my heart. She is truly a special girl.

Seven months have now passed since Fiona was diagnosed with Stage 4 CKD. When we left our vet’s office that day, I was not optimistic about her chances to survive for anything more than a very short time. In the scheme of things, seven months is a very short time but more than I expected. Many of you have written me about your cats. Some have survived as many as three years with CKD. We are blessed to have had these seven months, but I want more and pray she can survive as long as others have. So I continue to ask for your purrs, prayers and POTP for my sweet girl.

TUXIE TUESDAY TOOTHY TWO-FUR

I am not a happy camper. I have been betrayed by the parental units. Today my toofies are getting cleaned, and I am having my blood purloined away for a Senior Panel. This is totally unfair. No other kitty here is having to have this invasion of their mouth. And I already refused to allow my bloods to be drawn at our annual round-up. What makes these misguided humans think I’m going to give my permission this time?

I have been so distressed about this entire situation. Even my friend and best man, Sammy, reminding me that it would be good to have clean toofies for Allie‘s and my upcoming wedding did not buoy spirits. I finally had to resort to some tuxie love and comfort. Now one would think that my sisfur Misty May would hold my paw, especially as she isn’t having her mouth violated. We, however, are not the best of friends.

So, I turned to the other tuxie in the house, Lisbeth. We had a good snuggle and nap together. After we woke up we continued to cuddle, and she gave me some reassuring words. It’s nice to know she empathizes with me. I promised her that when the day comes she has to have this toothy cleaning done I would be there to hold her paw.

If all this wasn’t bad enough, Mom picked up all our foodables at 9 p.m. last night. Now I am not one to get up and nibble during the night, but the food is called CALM. Don’t you think this would have been good for me to munch on to settle my nerves? All I can say for now is that the treats better be free-flowing when I get home.

As tomorrow is Wordless Wednesday, either Mom or I will be back on Thursday to let you know how my day went.

Until then…

Purrs and paw-pats, Mauricio

TORTIE/TUXIE/TOESY TUESDAY TWO-FUR IN THE BOWL

Surprise, surprise! The dynamic duo of tuxie Mauricio and tortie Astrid are together again. They are in THE BOWL. This has become the preferred napping spot for several of the pusses. But this is a first…a bowl for two! Mauricio doesn’t really fit in the bowl by himself. But that didn’t stop his shadow from shoving in with him. And it didn’t stop him from giving her a bath.

Mauricio and Astrid share the antique dough bowl "bed"

Mauricio bathes Astrid as they crowd together in the antique dough bowl.

The bowl competition is liable to get heated as the colder weather sets in and none of the gang want to spend time on the catio. Their dad suggested we may need to start checking antique shows and shops for more wooden dough bowls. He doesn’t have to twist my arm. One of my favorite places to shop is Black Dog Salvage. If you get the DIY network (we don’t), you may have seen this place on the program Salvage Dawgs. They are located close enough for us to walk, and I don’t need truck to get bowls home!

I know even if we get extra bowls, Astrid will always seek out Mauricio. So, at most, we’ll only need six more bowls and someplace to put them all!
