Not Charlie

IT’S OFFICIAL: WELCOMING NEW FAMILY MEMBER

Not Charlie is the newest member of the Kitties Blue Krew (as Angel Sammy Kimmell likes to call them).

Not Charlie visited Dr. Neel today at Vinton Veterinary Hospital, and he was cleared to meet the current, resident furballs. He is:

  • not microchipped
  • FIV and FLV negative
  • a healthy, young adult between the ages of one and two years
  • 12.1 pounds

So…drumroll, please! I’d like to introduce you to

Cooper Murphy Blue

newest family member - Cooper Murphy

Cooper Murphy was totally chill at the vet. He didn’t flinch when he got his vaccinations. He hung out on the exam table looking around the room while his blood tests were being run.  We don’t know where Angel Fiona found this young fellow, but she certainly selected a winner for us.

It hurts my heart that Fiona had to leave in order for Cooper Murphy to come into our lives and adopt us. But we are happy we can give a home to a kitty who did not have one.

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #36

FriendlyFillInsI am participating in Fill-Ins again this week after skipping last week. This is a blog hop hosted by Annie (McGuffy’s Reader) and Ellen (15 and Meowing). They each select two partial sentences for participants to complete. Ellen selects the first two and Annie the second. My completions are in teal italics. This is a blog hop, and you can join on Annie’s blog by clicking on the Fill-Ins badge.

1. My guiding word for 2017 is positivity.
2. I am helping to research and locate classmates for my 50th high school class reunion.
3. Truth be told I am superstitious about Friday the 13th, which today is. The reason is that my mom died on Friday the 13th, and she was superstitious about a lot of things.
4. Lately, I have been spending a lot of time with new family member Cooper Murphy (Not Charlie) to make him feel at home here. I think that goal as been accomplished. Now he just has to meet the current feline residents and pass their inspection. You know, they and I will keep you posted on how this goes.

GINGER DOOZY OF A SNOOZY

Tabby Tuesday – Not Charlie Update

This is the first time we’ve ever been able to present a Tabby Tuesday post, as our last tabby, MacKenzie, had flown to the RB before we started blogging. We don’t know if our first also will be our last, but we certainly hope not.

I have checked every website available for lost/found pets and have not found a listing that matches our Not Charlie. I also have added him to some additional sites.

I continue trying out every male and generic name I can think of on him to see if any elicit a response. I’d had no luck until I tried Gerald. He meowed at me most times I said it and even head butted me. I am praying he was trying to tell me that he doesn’t like that name! We do have a couple of names in mind should he become a member of our household.

Not Charlie remains quite content right where he is, as you can see.

He has an appointment to be scanned for a microchip on Thursday and an appointment with Dr. Neel. If he does not have a chip, he needs to be checked out before being formally introduced to the Kitties Blue. Trust me, they know he is here, but other than his bolting into the kitchen at dinnertime Sunday, no nose-to-nose contact has been made. His days are spent in the living room and nights in the kitchen.

Unless someone comes forward to claim Not Charlie prior to his vet visit on Thursday, we will let you know Friday whether or not we have a new tabby member in our furry family. Until then…

toodles!

GINGER TABBY UPDATE

As I suspected, our house guest is not Charlie. Charlie’s mom, Rachel, and two human brothers came to the house yesterday morning and confirmed it. I feel so sad for them and pray their Charlie finds his way back home.

Not Charlie seems quite content here. He’s been watching lots of bird TV and doing some serious eating and napping. He is a champion at both the dangle and the double dangle.

We will have him scanned for a microchip within the next couple of days. Tom and others continue to share his photos on Facebook. If he does have a loving home, we want to make sure he finds his way back. If not…

Here are a couple of new photos of our guest, ginger tabby, Not Charlie. He is totally adorable, so feel free to squeee!
