,Friendly Fill-Ins: Week 64
Some of Kitties Blue and I are joining Annie (McGuffy’s Reader) and Ellen (15AndMeowing) for their weekly Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop. I have completed statements #1 and #3. Kitties Blue completed #2 and Astrid did #4. All of us used teal italics for our completions. To join in the blog hop, click on the badge below to be whisked away to Annie’s blog, where you can enter the link to your post. And while you are there, check out 10-week-old, foster kitties, Bonnie and Clyde, on her Thursday post. You’ll definitely SQUEEEE!
To help make the fill-ins a bit more interesting this week, I solicited the help of Cooper Murphy, Mauricio and Misty May.
- As a child, my favorite playground activity was playing on the monkey bars. Even though we had to wear dresses to school in the fifties, we girls still hung upside down from the monkey bars with panties showing. Of course, in those days we wore what are now commonly known as granny panties (full-coverage).

“I probably could have used some shorts or at least some underpants before I took on this activity!”
2. KITTIES BLUE: For breakfast, I we have Friskies stinky goodness paté. We have the same thing for dinner. We eat a variety of flavors, but it must be paté.
3. An instrument I would like to play is the piano. We have an antique piano, and I used to play. I do not have enough strength or flexibility to play anymore, but we still have the piano (not the one pictured below).

“Allie you’re the sweetest thing that I’ve ever seen, it’s true how my head starts a spinning when I look at you…” *
4. ASTRID: I always try to stay away from Misty May, because she is mean to me.
So those are our fill-ins for this week. We will be here tomorrow for Caturday Art and to announce the winner of our Comment-a-thon donation. You won’t want to miss that announcement.
* Lyrics from the song, “Allie,” by Ray LaMontagne.
OOPs, Mom forgot to publish this at midnight. Good help is so hard to find – Kitties Blue
Cute pictures. Have a great week.
I’m sorry that Misty May is mean to you, Astrid.
I remember wearing dresses in first grade, but I don’t know if it was a requirement or just how Mama dressed me. I started first grade in the fall of 1971. I never went to kindergarten. It wasn’t mandatory in my area back then.
How old is your antique piano? We have one that was born in 1895, the same year as one of my great-grandparents. 🙂 It is way out of tune, but a beautiful dark mahogany. I can’t play it, but I love it!
Have a blessed weekend. 🙂
Those fill ins were a lot of fun!!
Allie is soooo thrilled that her husband is playing the piano and singing to her!!!
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and love to Mau from Allie
Those were fun responses! We’re big fans of pate foods too.
I played the violin for years – but I never really liked it – my father was convinced I’d get a college scholarship (NOT!). After I quit the violin, I did teach myself cello and I loved that! It’s so funny how all the cats in a household can agree on pate vs. chunks statistically, that shouldn’t really happen (I’m a numbers nerd) 🙂
Thank you for participating, great answers and I love the photos you added. Misty May looks like grumpy cat in that photo, poor Astrid. It seems like a lot of us want to play the piano 🙂 Most of my cats like Friskies with gravy, but Emmy insists on pate. Have a great weekend!
Good answers! Yep, monkey bars in the 50s! But I wore shorts under my skirts! LOL!
My human HATED the monkey bars, and the rings! She had no upper body strength and it hurt her to hang on them, which is all she could do. She couldn’t swing or pull herself up or do anything. These contraptions would make her cry, and the fact that she was so bad on them made her even less popular than she already was among the kids. She finally decided her time was better spent inside, by herself. It probably helped her become a writer, but childhood was a miserable time for her.
Funny thing is, she can do push ups now! But her upper body strength is still pretty lousy.
Astrid, you need one-on-one assistance from me on how to stop the bullying. That’s not right. I can’t believe your human might be older than TW She says she never wore bloomers.
In answer to your question, I’ve never been up there cos I don’t climb ladders. I have begged TW to buy a contraption where I could climb up the door to get up there. For some reason, they don’t want me up there.
Wonderful answers to this week’s fill-ins! You all did a wonderful job and we thoroughly enjoyed reading it!
Those were fun and we loved the pictures!
HAHA! LOVE LOVE LOVE the photos that go with the fill-ins today! Coop you are great on those monkey bars – I’ll have to give that a try….and Mau – I think you might be an excellent concert pianist. I think Astrid is well prepared to handle being bullied with those boxing gloves on! My Mom remembers having to wear dresses and still having fun on the monkey bars and every other thing in spite of the undie-showing off……..those were the days huh??? Tee Hee
Hugs, Teddy
way kewl post two day guyz !!! yur graffix R grate ! 🙂 ♥♥
Now these are fun answers (except for the whole bullying thing, of course, Astrid)! I used to love monkey bars as well. While skirts were an option at my school, pants were also allowed, and my love for the monkey bars and swings was probably one of the biggest reasons I always wore pants. Kitties Blue, you sound like the crew around here – paté is the only way to go! I used to play the piano, and though I have gotten out of practice over the past few years, I hope to take it up again soon. Now, as for that bullying, Astrid, do you ever fight back? You need a pair of gloves for yourself! A nice purple pair, perhaps? Purrs to all of you!
Oh, no…Misty May, be nice! No bullies allowed. How do you handle bullying, Mom?
I remember running around the playground, never worrying about undies showing. Even when the boys would sing, “I see London, I see France, I see someone’s underpants!” Ha! Thanks for playing with us each week. The Outlaws will probably join you this Sunday, with Mom’s help, of course. Yes, I named them Bonnie & Clyde. Hugs!
