MAU’S TURN FOR A LAP SELFIE

Sunday Selfies: Week #285

Last week Misty mMay presented you a selfie she took while lounging in Dad Tom’s lap. I figured if it was good enough for her, it is good enough for me.

Of course, I did a much better job than she did. Don’t you agree?

Dad Tom is our go-to for snuggly comfort. If our dad is sitting, one or both of us are in his lap. This isn’t to say we don’t like Mom; Dad just has a better lap! If you have any doubt of my truthfulness or sincerity, join me again this coming Wordless Wednesday.

Hopping Time!

As it goes every week, I’ve showed you mine and now it’s your turn. We always enjoy seeing your selfie and/or what you are doing or not doing to enjoy an easy Sunday.

Mom has been letting us slack off lately on posting her hopping tips, so she is making me do it today. Please accept my apology.

  • The link to add your selfie to the hop is below.
  • You also will find below the code to use if you’d like the hop to appear on your blog.
  • Posting on Sundays is not necessary to join.
  • You do not need to be a cat to enter. All anipals are welcome regardless of species.
  • The hop remains open for entries through Thursday midnight.
  • Please be so kind as to display our badge and/or link to The Cat on My Head.
  • Take the opportunity to visit some of the other hop-alongs and make some new friends or reconnect with some old ones.

Thanks for joining us, whether you are a regular hopper, an occasional participant or a newbie. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Purrs and paw-pats, Mau (with oodles of smooches and love for Allie)

SPARKS OF POSITIVITY & DETERMINATION

Sparks

After the difficulties with yesterday’s post and the hours I spent trying to correct it (to no avail), I think it will be evident to all of you why I selected the quote I did for my Spark.

Sparks: Mau struggling with box.

Ralph Marston was a football player who attended Boston University. He spent a season as a professional in the National Football League with the Boston Bulldogs in 1929 as a quarterback.

Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie is taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. Many of us still continue to post a Spark on Monday, as we believe in Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

Madi’s Blog Hop

Madi(son) D. Cat (Down Home in N.C.) received her angel wings on September 13 and traveled to the Rainbow bridge. To honor and remember her, her boyfriend, Raz (Friends Furever), has organized a special tribute blog hop for Madi. It will be held Wednesday, September 26. If you’d like to participate, create a post remembering Madi. Make certain to include her favorite color, red, and try to make your fellow bloggers and Madi’s family and friends smile. You can write a poem or haiku, take a photo of yourself doing a bit of boxing (Mau covered that today) and hop aboard the Come Laugh with Us Blog Hop! Don’t forget to visit Raz for more information.

The Blog Hop is set up here if you would like to pre-post. Please include the graphic when you post.

Yesterday’s Post

With sincere thanks to my site designer, Jim Ellison, yesterday’s post is now available for comments if anyone is interested in leaving one there. As I spent most of yesterday dealing with the problem, Kitties Blue did not comment on any of your posts, for which I sincerely apologize. I appreciate your patience and support.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY M & MM…A DAY LATE!

Well, as usual, Mom screwed up. She should have posted yesterday to say happy 14th birthday to us. She often is confused these days. So much sadness and heart break with friend upon friend leaving for the Rainbow Bridge. It almost doesn’t seem right for us to celebrate. But…

First, I (Mau) must thank my lovely and beautiful wife Allie (Friends Furever) for my birthday card.

She didn’t have to do anything more for me, but she did. And can you believe Mom made me wait until my birthday yesterday to open the gifts she sent? Maybe the wait was worth it. Wow! My prezzies are terrific!

She sent this special new blanket with nip in it and three very cool toys. Mom and Dad were going to put the blanket on their bed for me, but I refused to get off of it.

💗 Thank you, Allie! 💗

If you think my gifts look like goodies you’d like to have for yourself, they are from Catching Lizards. To go there, click here.

Misty May and I thank Pipo, Dalton and Petcretary Ingrid (Meezer’s Mews and Terrieristical Woofs) for the beautiful card. They never forget a birthday.

I made a cake for our celebration in my Cat Scouts Bake Shop. Please join us for a piece, as well as some noms and bubbly.

NAPPING CATURDAY ART FROM MAU

Caturday Art & 1,700th Post

Mau's Toon Caturday Art

It’s always best to let sleeping cats lie, and it’s a good time to get some cute photos, especially if your cat is hiding his eyes, as Mau is here.

To create today’s art, I used the Toon effect from Painnt, the Love Bokeh filter (at 73 percent) and purple scroll frame from piZap. The final border is from Picasa.

This is the photo Mau is entering in Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty’s Caturday Art blog hop. To join in the fun, create some art using one of the numerous photo-editing apps you can find for free on the internet.

Dad Tom had a hard time identifying this photo. Did you? Here’s the original.

Sunday Selfies Reminder

One of Kitties Blue will be here tomorrow to host our Sunday Selfies blog hop. However, our post will be dedicated to and in honor of our friend, Bionic Basil. If you don’t know, Basil received his wings and flew off to the Rainbow Bridge on September 9. Basil and his furblings are faithful participants in the Selfies blog hop, and Basil is beloved by so many in the blogosphere, he deserves our remembrance.

We also will say, “good-bye,” to Milita (Fur Everywhere) and Miles Meezer (Meezer Tails).

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow on the hop.

Puzzle

For our friends who enjoy puzzles, here is the link to today’s art as a 300-piece puzzle. You can decrease the number of pieces on the Jigsaw site by selecting “Play As” (on the upper right) after loading the puzzle.

ANOTHER FRIENDSHIP SPARK

Sparks

I have posted several Sparks dealing with friendship. I think it is one of the most important relationships we can have in our lives. The support a friend can offer in good times and bad is priceless.

Sparks and Awww Mondays

The author of today’s quote, H. (Harriett) Jackson Brown Jr. is an American author known for his inspirational books, Life’s Little Instruction Book, and it’s sequelLife’s Little Instruction Book: Volume 2. Both were on the New York Times bestseller list in the early ’90s.

Though our host, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader), of the Sparks Blog Hop is taking a much deserved break from blogging and our Sparks post is not part of a hop, I continue to ascribe to Annie’s vision when starting the Sparks hop: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

I will continue to post a Spark on Mondays unless some other subject should take precedent.

A SPARK OF LOVE WITH ASTRID & MAU

Sparks: Week #31

Sparks - Unconditional love

I did not receive unconditional love from my parents, either as a child or an adult, so today it is something very important to me. I was fortunate, however, to receive that love from my paternal grandparents. Not all the Kitties Blue love, or even get along, with each other. But Mau always has shown Astrid and several other of his housemates that he cares for them.

I have used a quote from this author for a previous Sparks’ post. If you are unfamiliar with Brian Tracy, you can find out more about him in the post, “A Spark of Gratitude from Sawyer.”

Astrid, Mau and I are joining Annie at McGufffy’s Reader for her Sparks blog hop. In establishing the hop, Annie wrote, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”

This is what makes Sparks so special and why I look forward to participating each week.

If you’d like to join the hop, click on the Sparks badge.

We are also joining the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus.

EASTER SUNDAY SELFIES

Sunday Selfies: Week #190

We are going to keep this short, as we know you want to enjoy the holiday and not spend a lot of time reading.

We have two hosts today. Just as Lisbeth had hoped her boyfriend Charles would see and like her art yesterday, your selfie hosts are hoping the same thing.

Astrid and Mau are here to send love and Easter greetings to their spouses, Sampson (Kitty Cat Chronicles) and Allie (Friends Furever).

Easter Sunday Selfies

All the Kitties Blue, Dad Tom and I wish everyone a happy and blessed holiday whether you are celebrating Easter or Passover.

Time to Hop

Now it’s time for you to share your selfie with all of us. Please add some colorful holiday touches if you like. And if you are new to hopping or just need a refresher course to enter our hop, here are some pointers.

NAP, KITTENS & SNOW

Friendly Fill-Ins: Week #98

Once again, I received some assistance with the fill-ins. Not only is Sawyer completing one of the fill-ins, but Mauricio is as well.

1. Sawyer: I am the baby in my family. But then you all know that. Mom will use any opportunity to show photos of me.

Sawyer helps with fill-ins.

2. Mauricio: I have two sibling(s), Misty May and a brother I have not seen since Mom and Dad adopted Misty May and me. Here we are as kittens (2004) shortly after our adoption.

Fill-ins with Misty May and Mau.

3. I am looking forward to the BlogPaws Conference in Kansas City, MO, this Spring, as we used to live there.

4. The first sign of Spring this year was snow. Some daffodils, forsythia and our quince bush were blooming when they were covered in snow. Another snowstorm is forecast for Saturday.

Snowy fill-ins

Friendly Fill-Ins is a blog hop hosted by Ellen (15 and Meowing) and Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). The intent is to give bloggers the opportunity to learn more about each other, and in this case, a couple of the Kitties Blue.

Ellen and Annie each compose two incomplete sentences for participants to complete. If you’d like to play along, you can find the blank fill-ins on their blogs each Thursday.

The blog hop takes place at McGuffy’s Reader. To join, click on the badge.
