Skooter was our first cat. We got him in the late eighties when he was five months old. I thought it would be fun to feature him today in some early holiday photos. He went to play at the bridge when he was 14 1/2 years old.
When Skooter came to live with us, we had two small dogs. Once they joined Skooter at the RB, we never got another dog. Our house has seen a steady stream of kitties, some finding us and vice versa. The current group are numbers 10 through 17.
An itty-bitty kitten even showed up at the front door one Christmas Eve. I knew we couldn’t keep her, but I let her in and called her Noel. She was promptly adopted by a visiting friend.
Skooter has the illustrious honor of being the only kitty ever to pull the Christmas Tree over when he got his head caught in a string of lights.
I hope you enjoy a look back at our original cat, Skooter.
What a cutie. Have a great holiday!

Skooter was a handsome boy. We think it’s nice to honor the first kitty of the family. Without him, your house may never have known so many wonderful future kitties.
We loved that look back. Scooter was one handsome kitty.
Our Rumpy Bump Stumpnots tried to pull our tree down but Dad Duck-Taped the stand to the table and put guide wires on it.
Rumpy looked a bit disappointed.
MOL
Purrs and Hi Mau! Did you see my song at Scouts?

Merry Christmas to you and all the kitties!

Thanks for sharing Skooter with us. He was very handsome. The first…and original Island Cat…was named Scooter…but with a C. He was a character, too. 🙂
The Human says: It is very kind of you to see if your friend could help Sadie. I wish I could give her a home, but I am afraid Spitty would lose the ground it has taken 9 years to gain. He is the most difficult kitty I have ever had and is afraid of nearly everything, Gaining his trust (sort of) has taken FOREVER. Also I live in a one-bedroom apartment, so there’s not much room for kitties to have their own space. I hope someone will be able to help her–she seems like a sweet little girl. Thank you, XOXOXO
Skooter was a handsome boy. I used to climb up the Christmas tree when I was younger and it often used to fall over. Mum got a fake one after and used to wedge it in a corner so it wouldn’t fall over.
Scooter is very handsome! We think he’s super cool for pulling down the Christmas tree all on his own!
Angel Skooter was a very beautiful kitty and we know he is still celebrating Christmas with you in Spirit. What a lovely memories and fun now that it’s over…but to pull down the tree! MOL!!!!
Thank you for sharing your fond memories of Scooter with us…
They are always with us in our hearts.
Noodle hugs
Skooter was a most handsome fellow…..pulled over the Christmas tree huh? WOW…..these things happen when we’re playing with strings of lights I suppose. No doubt that was a “one time” thing!!! I love thinking about a little tiny kitten showing up on your doorstep on Christmas Eve and you granting her sanctuary and giving her the name “Noel”….what a great Christmas gift she made for you (temporarily) and her “adopter” (forever). Christmas time is a good time for reflecting on the past – Mom says she has lots of warm memories of her other kitties at Christmas – apparently one thing we ALL have in common is a love of lying under the Christmas tree.
Holiday Hugs, Sammy
Angel Scooter! We bet you kept your pawrents on their toes! Did they anchor the tree after that?! 🙂
the critters in the cottage xo
What a handsome dude! Thanks for sharing that tree toppling memory!!!
Skooter sounded like a fun kitty and what an honour to be the only one to pull the tree down….that was some pawsome mischief. Have a serene Sunday and get in some big easy today.
Best wishes Molly
Skooter sounds like an awesome kitty! Sadly, none of us have ever pulled down a tree. It is one area in which we are sorely lacking.
Scooter is quite handsome! Thank you for sharing him with us 🙂
Skooter looks like he was quite a kitty! We don’t have a tree here, for THIRTEEN obvious reasons.
He looks like he had a pretty darn good time with you! The Human says that when she was in college she took her mama cat and two 8-week-old kittens home to her parents for Christmas. They knocked over the Christmas tree. Her mom, never a big cat-lover, was less than pleased, MOL!
Such a handsome fella, I bet there are wonderful trees at the bridge, and all the kitties get to play with them.
Scooter is a man cat after my own heart!
Rock on, on pulling over the tree!
Kisses
Nellie
Me LOVES my hairy slobbery sisters!!! Does your pawrents miss having woofies?
He’s beautiful! He really got his head caught in a string of lights? OMC!
I love flashbacks like this. I have some planned, as well. They each own a piece of our hearts, don’t they? (P.S. I will post my award tomorrow. Thank you again. ) ~xo~
Awww…another pretty kitty!
