Sunday Selfies: Week #519
Yesterday’s art featured Audrey, and I said in that post, I would try to get Raleigh to take a selfie for today. And with a little help from Dad Tom, he did just that.

I felt I owed Audrey and Raleigh some recognition, as I didn’t acknowledge their Gotcha Day, which was Friday. Thanks to Angel Brian and Dad Terry for reminding me. Under the heading of What Raleigh Doesn’t Know Won’t Hurt Him: I pet him the full length of his back four times Caturday morning. That is the most I have ever pet him since he and Audrey came out of the kitten enclosure. Woohoo! As soon as he realized it was me, he was gone in a flash.
Giveaway/Comment-a-thon Winners
We have winners! The giveaway for a copy of the book, Purrseverance, was won by The Oceanside Animals. It is on the way to them from Amazon. Sawyer and I really hope they enjoy it.
Our comment-a-thon brought in 32 comments. I promised one dollar per comment, but have rounded the donation up to $35. Pam and Teddy Kimmell (Two Spoiled Cats) won the opportunity to select where I sent the donation. They selected Fauquier SPCA in Northern Virginia. Both Angel Sammy and Teddy were adopted from there.

Remembering Friends
Dawn White from the blog Lola the Rescued Cat lost her two beautiful girls this year. Lola received her angel wings in January and Lexy received hers just a few days ago.

We all know how difficult it is to lose one of our fur babies, but to lose two so close together is devastating. Both Lola and Lexy were frequent hoppers, so we want to remember them today. Kitties Blue and I send love, hugs and prayers to Dawn as she grieves. If you haven’t already, please stop and leave your condolences on the blog.
Hopping Time
So, we hope you have already snapped a selfie and are ready to hop. If Raleigh can do it, anyone can do it! And, you know you are absolutely thrilled when you get to show yourself off in front of all your friends. Let’s see if we can get some cuteness overload going on here today.
If you cannot join us today, the hop remains open through Thursday.
Thanks for joining us today. Have an easy Sunday.

Chaplin: “We didn’t know Lola and Lexy, but we are always sad when a furry friend has to go away. We send them lots of purrs.”
Charlee: “We received the book already, thank you! The dogs are envious because the book is all about us cats but, sorry, dogs, that’s just the way it goes sometimes!”
We think Raleigh did a superb job with his selfie. And we are sure that he will be back for more petting now that he felt your gentle touch

Raleigh’s selfie is absolutely beautiful. It’s sad he is afraid of you – or just doesn’t like you. I can’t imagine…
Yay for the Oceanside Animals. We really enjoy following their blog too, as well as two spoiled cats and especially their funny picture for poems every week.
Thank you so much for remembering my girls and for the beautiful graphic. I’m grateful for all if the friends we’ve made over the years.

Very handsome selfie. I am sad for Dawn losing her two beloved kitties, especially so close together. Thank you for hosting. Have a great day. XO
That is a most wonderful selfie Raleigh, you sure are handsome. Hooray for the winners too and that was such a nice tribute to Lola and Lexy.
Happy Gotcha Day to Raleigh and Audrey. That’s a great selfie Raleigh took. And we are sad about Lola and Lexy. I’m sending purrs to their mom who is missing them so much. ~the Murph and the Lady
Raleigh, that selfie is magnificent! You should really do them more often!
Raleigh looks amazing….love his “pattern” – sorry he’s so hard to pet! We are so excited that we won the Commentathon and that our SPCA shelter is going to benefit from your generous gift of a donation. It’s a wonderful shelter too with kind happy people working there who genuinely work hard to find homes for their “residents”…..Congrats to Oceanside Animals too for their win in the Commentathon! We were sad to learn of a cat Mom who lost TWO of her kitties so close together – it’s always hard but that had to be a VERY hard loss. We send her hugs.
Love, Teddy (and Mom Pam)
Wow, that is a great selfie that Raleigh made!
Congrats to the commentathon winners!
How sweet that Raleigh submitter=d to a few pets from his Mom…maybe on day he’ll enjoy and come asking for more.
It is very hard to lose your furry ones so close together.
What a cute and beautiful picture of Raleigh! Many congrats to the winners of the contest! We’re very sorry about the losses of Lola and Lexy. We know that’s awfully hard for Mom Dawn.
Wow, Raleigh and Dad sure did an amazing job with that selfie! So handsome!
Congratulations to the Oceanside Animals and to Teddy and Mom Pam. That is awesome!
We’re so sad about Lola and Lexy’s being needed at the Bridge, and are sending lots of purrs and prayers and love to Mom Dawn.
