Sparks
Dad Tom took some photos yesterday of the day lilies in our front flower bed. I have selected one for today’s Spark.
I was unfamiliar with Max Müller and suspect you may be as well. Friedrich Max Müller was born in 1823 and died in 1900. Generally known as Max Müller, he was a German-born philologist (Philology is the study of language in oral and written historical sources; it is a combination of literary criticism, history, and linguistics.) and Orientalist. He lived and studied in Britain for most of his life. Müller was one of the founders of the western academic field of Indian studies and the discipline of comparative religion. He wrote scholarly as well as popular works on the subject of Indology. The Sacred Books of the East, a 50-volume set of English translations, was prepared under his direction.
Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend, Annie (McGuffy’s Reader). Annie currently is taking a “break” from blogging, so there is no hop. However, many of us are continuing to post a Spark on Monday, as we totally agree with Annie’s vision: “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!”
Our Sock Winner
The latest winner in our giveaway of pink or blue customizable cat socks from OurSock.com is The Menagerie Mom, Lorianne, from Four-Legged Furballs. Now the question remains, which of her precious pusses will get the honor of appearing on her socks. With new kitten, Tonks, joining the family, we think the rest of the gang will be shut out.
To learn more about our giveaway, checkout last Tuesday’s post, Toesy Tuesday Giveaway. If you’ve been admiring Mom’s socks on previous posts, you still have an opportunity to win a pair for yourself. We had ten pairs of cat socks to give away and have now awarded six of those. We normally do not post on Tuesdays, so the giveaway will resume on Wednesday and conclude next Saturday.
We’ll see you back here for Wordless Wednesday.
A wise spark and such beautiful lilies!
Yay, Lorianne! We know she’ll love them. Gorgeous picture … I wish I had the eye to take them myself!
ps – We love you and you make our days brighter!
Beautiful Spark and the picture of the lillies too <3 Pawkisses for a wonderful day 🙂 <3
PS concatulations also to Lorianne 🙂
Congrats to Lorianne! Excellent spark and beautiful photo of your lilies. XO
Pretty flower and perfect spark!
Our mommy wasn’t on the computer much so we missed some entries in the giveaway. She’s a slacker.
Love the spark and the flowers
What a beautiful Spark to go with such beautiful flowers.
I just love how you match such beautiful sentiments with such beautiful photographs. This Spark of yours speaks volumes.
And I am so excited to have won a pair of the adorable socks! Thank you so much! In the event that I won, I already knew which kitty in my life would get to be plastered all over my pair. I did indeed choose a calico, but it’s not little Tonks. (Let’s be honest, though, I’ll probably end up getting a pair with every single one of my furbabies, because these socks are just that purrfect!) Thank you again!
Our liles don’t look as groovy as yours! But we have a big patch of lilies and milkweed plants, and some Monarch butterflies have stopped by, so we are really excited!
My heavens! The double day lily is beautiful. A symphony of colour.
Your spark is right on.
Shoko and Tyebe
Congrats to the Menagerie Mom! And I’ve never seen a double day lily like that gorgeous and the Spark! Wonderful!

Marv and Mom
Beautiful photo. Mom and Dad had tons of beautiful day lilies until Dad had his heart problem and stopped doing a lot of the “extras” outside and the flower bed grew over with weeds. Great Spark too.
The Florida Furkids with oodles and oodles of smoochies and tons of love to Mau from Allie
Love that quote. Spot on.
Congratulations to Lorianne.
Have a fabulous day. Scritches to all your babies. ♥
What a beautiful photo!!! Great job, Dad Tom! Mom says it’s always so nice to have splashes of bright color in the yard. We like to look at the flowers, too. Have a great day, everyone!
Summer purrs…………Hemingway and Steinbeck
So pretty and a wonderful Spark too!
What a great way to start the day! A beautiful photo and a delightful quote! Thanks! 😀
Happy Monday and Mom and I just love the photo Dad Tom did of the lilies in your yard. Of course we love ORANGE since it’s gingery (!). Mom was so excited to be one of the sock giveaway winners – she sent them a photo of me for her socks and we’re anxious to see how they look. It’s going to be a hot week so stay as cool as you can. Your Spark is EVER SO TRUE……..
Hugs, Teddy
