Sparks
I selected today’s Spark, as I think it is a good reminder for all of us and as a lead in to some news from my state, Virginia, which I want to share.
The General Assembly recently passed a bill introduced by State Senator Bill Stanley. This bill gives cats and dogs used in testing situations the opportunity to be released to an adoption agency and find their very own loving homes. Stanley said, “We should reward those dogs and cats with a forever home and not discard them when they are considered no longer useful.” These dogs and cats are normally euthanized.
I don’t agree with animal testing, but I am delighted these animals will be given a second chance.
Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks,“I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”
Awww Mondays
On February 12, I shared the “Cat Train” with you. That train consisted of only the engine and caboose (Calista Jo and Sawyer) of this train. Today’s train has a sleeping car cat (Kizmet).
The three cat train is participating in the Awww Mondays blog hop at Comedy Plus. To join them, click on the badge below.
The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky
Your favorite, fun-loving tabbies will be sharing another of their adventures tomorrow. Stinky and Periwinkle will be celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss with a very special adventure. His birthday is celebrated as Read Across America Day, which is a big deal in the blogosphere. Stinky and Periwinkle also will join Timmy, Ranger and Emmy (who are hosting this year’s event).
We LOVE the Spark and thanks for telling us about the Virginia General Assembly’s bill on Animals from testing being passed! Such excellent news! And the Cat train rocks! We live that it includes a sleeping Kizmet! Have a marvellously happy day!
That’s an excellent bill. While we don’t like animal testing either, at least those animals involved will be able to find loving homes. Love the cat train, too!
Excellent spark. Cute photo of tic=tac-toe, 3 kitties in a row. XO
Good for Virginia ! Hope more states join in with similar bills.
That is a good spark and I did not realize what was happening to test animals. I agree they should not be tested on and I did not even realize that dogs and cats were used as lab rats anymore except maybe to test species-specific things like medications or food for cats and dogs. I think most of the time it is better not knowing something than to learn that something through the suffering of others.
I love your Spark. I never let that happen to me. I ignored those can’t do folks.
I’m glad these pups and kitties will have a chance at a forever home. Wonderful..
Awww on the train. Cute, cute and cuter.
I’ll be here tomorrow for Dr. Seuss Day and Periwinkle and Stinky. I’m sure they will have a grand time celebrating Dr. Seuss Day.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and a hug to mom. ♥
What a fantastic sentiment this Sparks is. Like you, I very much so do not agree with animal testing. But, I am glad if any animals unfortunately used in testing end up in good homes. At least that’s a step in the right direction. And what a purrfect kitty train! Purrs to all of you!
Toot toot! The cat train is rollin’ down the tracks…
That’s such a fun photo and a great Spark. Stop animal testing, instead use prisoners and congress members.
Love the cat train!
Your Spark is perfect. I admit sometimes my mind is the small mind that convinces the rest of me my dreams are too big. Why want something if I might not get it? For me, I’m even more sensitive to that kind of thinking – growing up hating myself for wanting my parents to love me. So I stopped letting myself want anything. That’s a very hard road to come back from.
Great Spark! The cat train is absolutely adorable!!
Periwinkle is intrigued…she can’t wait for tomorrow.
The Florida Furkids with paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle
That is one beautiful cat train – getting longer all the time – will you break the record of three? Mom and I both love your SPARK today – keeping our dreams alive keeps us going ALWAYS. Dream on…….dreams can come true.
Hugs, Teddy
Dreams are meant to be fulfilled…the bigger the better! At least we can aim to fulfill them as best we can:)
Hooray for those test creatures, who can now live out their days in comfort and with LOVE.
And Dr Seuss Day will be lots of fun!
