Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Thursday again and time for poetry. This week I have written both a haiku and poem for Teddy and Angel Sammy’s (Two Spoiled Cats) poetry challenge. This week’s inspiration photo and my poems are below.
Dream of Dancing
Growing up I wanted to be a dancer.
My parents knew it wasn’t possible,
But I didn’t…they never told me
I watch with fascination and envy
When I see masters of this art
Glide, swing, twirl and fly.
Alone, with a partner or ensemble
Dance is seductive, mesmerizing.
Someday I will dance…in heaven.
Surely God would not deny me
This one simple dream and pleasure.
My haiku:
Sexy, glamorous
Acrobatic, flexible
How do they do that?

Thankful Thursday
I am thankful for this rag-tag gang of felines as well as their four furblings. What you can’t see is that these four are curled up at my feet. I am never alone or lonely.
I am blessed to have Dad Tom, the eight Kitties Blue and wonderful, supportive friends in my life.
The kitties and I are joining the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian. To join us, post on your blog for what you are thankful and then click on Brian’s badge.
Amen! We agree that furiends (furry or otherwise) are a big blessing!
Purrs & Head Bonks,
Alberto
Great job on the poem. And I love the family photo. XO
What a great pic of the 4 of them curled up on the bed. They sure must keep you warm. 🙂 Great poem too.
I love the poem. I’m sure dancing in heaven is allowed. No one will have two left feet either.
Aw on the kitties. I’m thankful I quit lurking here and started commenting. You and your kitties have brought such joy.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Janet. Big hug to you and lots of lovies and scritches to the kitties. ♥
I look at that photo, and I wonder how in the heck she can dance in those shoes!
LOL!
That’s such a sweet poem. We love that wonderful pile of sweet ones. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
OMC we are both so excited to see our handsome ManCats this morning! You made our day!!!
Mom loves your poem and your haiku. She wishes she could dance! Maybe in Heaven all the Moms will be great dancers. Mom has a choir friend who says that in Heaven she will be able to sing all parts!!
Smoochies and love to Mau from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle
I always loved to dance too! Started as a dance major in college but was told there’s no future in it. Maybe they just meant for me! LOL! Such an adorable picture of the furblings!
Oh dear Janet you will be a dancing Queen of that I am sure….one day but FAR in the future…..I’ll be there too – being the prima ballerina I wanted to be, graceful as a swan instead of like an elephant back in my youth! I think you have a wonderful pile of kitties to keep you warm – I wish Teddy would cooperate (do you hear me Teddy???) – he’s affectionate but not a lap or bed boy. Thanks so much for writing poetry with us every week – you always do a masterful job of creating something totally “tuned in” to the photos Angel Sammy gives us! Love you…………
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
I love that poem you composed! And the haiku is spot on! I couldn’t dance if my life depended on it…Hah! When I try/pretend everyone giggles….its OK,Usually I am too:)
Hubby & I went to a symphony concert recently, and it was called Tango, and they had authentic dancers on stage, now that was a big treat!
That is a cozy kitty pile at your feet! Sweet!
