Thankful Thursday
Once each week we like to share the things for which we are thankful and then join the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Angel Brian.
Dad Tom and I were thankful when he rescued two baby squirrels, whose eyes had not yet opened, from our yard with no mom around anywhere. Tom found a dead squirrel in the street the day before, and we suspect that was their mom. We have a wonderful wildlife center here, and Tom was able to take them there to be cared for. We have an I.D. number so we can check on them.
They could not have been cuter, as you can see. The one in the photo was quite a squealer.

Dad Tom and I are thankful we were home yesterday when Sawyer had a seizure. He’s been having one about every one-and-a-half to two weeks, and we do not always know until after the fact. I am particularly thankful I was able to give him a good Furminating while he was recovering. It’s the only time I can brush out his thick undercoat.

I spent a great evening having dinner out with one of my long-time friends last night.
From this week’s Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats, I earned two badges. I was one of three first commenters and a right guesser but not first.

Kitties Blue and I will be participating in the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Angel Brian. If you would like to do the same, click on the badge below.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Thursday is the day when we participate in Angel Sammy and Teddy’s (Two Spoiled Cats) poetry challenge. They provide an inspiration photo, and participants write a poem based on the photo.
Here is today’s photo.

I only have a haiku for you today.
What was I thinking?
I am not my dad’s sherpa.
This trip is a drag!

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. Sammy is one of our favorite poets, and we always recommend you read his poem. Please stop over to Two Spoiled Cats by clicking on the poetry badge, to check out Sammy’s poem and get the photo for next week’s challenge.
Thanks for joining us today. We will be back tomorrow with some fill-ins.

Hooray for the rescue! We have a wildlife hospital here, too, and we’ve dropped many a rescue, birds or squirrels, over there. The birds we try to leave for the mamas, but with a few neighborhood cats roaming, we can’t always.
Anyway, I’m sorry Sawyer had a seizure but glad you were able to give him a good brushing.
I like your poem!
That was a wonderful rescue of those precious baby squirrels, thank you for helping them. Poor Sawyer, we sure wish that monster would leave him be. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Glad you and Tom found help for the baby squirrels. Funny poem. I am sorry Sawyer had another seizure. XO
Bless you for saving two our of the three baby squirrels…..so precious….I have always had a huge soft spot for “baby anythings” (except snakes) and squirrels are just so adorable. I like your haiku – they could be Dad and daughter but whatever their relationship I think that guy is pushing it to the limit! LOL Also sorry sweet Sawyer had another seizure…..hugs for him.
Love, Pam
Ooo, I just want to hold and love on that baby squirrel!! But I’m so sorry Sawyer’s seizures continue so frequently.
That’s a different and good interpretation on the poem than I’ve read (or written) so far. Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!
Lulu: “SQUIRREL!!!”
Squirrels are so cute; how wonderful that you rescued these babies.
Sending more purrs to you, Sawyer.
“Drag”…man oh man, we are showing our age by you writing it, and me knowing that term all too well! Hehehehe!
The baby squirrel is adorable. We’re glad you could save them.
We’re sorry to hear Sawyer had a seizure. We hope he can go longer between them.
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle
Oh that little squirrel is a cutie pie! So wonderful that Dad Tom was able to rescue them and get them to the wildlife center! Sawyer is also a cutie pie, I’m so sorry to hear that he had another seizure. Congrats on being a right guesser in the Teaser!
