Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
This week’s inspiration photo for Thoroughly Poetic Thursday was purrfect for the addition of a cat. Calista Jo received the honor of joining this woofie and adorable toddler.
I hope you all are enjoying my transgressions from the Two Spoiled Cats’ (Angel Sammy and Teddy) weekly photo, as I am having oodles of fun veering from the anticipated path.
Three’s A Crowd
This is my dog door, and that’s a fact.
First the kid took it over and now the cat.
No one seems to have any respect for me—
Can’t they see I’m biggest of the three.
Kid has diapers and cat has box for pee
But going outside is a necessity for me.
If they don’t hurry up and scat,
I’m going to tinkle on this floor mat.
Then I’ll be in trouble and put in time out
While the kid and the cat frolic about.
I don’t know why I have to suffer.
Time for me to bark to our mother
To banish these two to another room,
So out my dog door I can zoom.

St. Gertrude’s Feast Day

Painting of St. Gertrude by Mary Donaldson
Kitties Blue and I always take the opportunity to honor St. Gertrude of Nivelles on her Feast Day. She was adopted as the Patron Saint of Cats and Cat Lovers around 1981. She, however, is not officially recognized for this by the Vatican.
I found an article about the history of St. Gertrude on-line and shared it in a post in 2019. This is the link to my post where you can find a link to that article. I know that is a round-about way of sharing it, but there’s a terrific photo of Mau on the post, and I thought some of you might enjoy seeing him as much as I did.
Today, we are praying to St. Gertrude asking here to take care of Sawyer as well as every kitty everywhere, especially those without homes.
Thankful Thursday
We are thankful that our host Brian’s dad, Terry, is improving a little each day after his emergency appendectomy.
I am thankful for getting to work outside cleaning up some of my flower beds.
Kitties Blue and I are thankful for your friendship and support.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop. If you’d like to participate, post on your blog for what you are thankful, then visit Brian’s Home blog to link up. The url is on his badge.
🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day 🍀

Ha! Perfect logic in your poem ! Of course Calista Jo and any other cats in the vicinity would find that doggie door, and use it!
Calista Jo, I don’t think you want to be there with that dog and kid. Happy St. Patrick’s Day…and St. Gertrude’s Day!
Terrific poem!
May the road rise up
To meet you.
May the wind be always
At your back.
May the sun shine warm
upon your face.
May the rain fall soft
upon your field,
And until we meet again.
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day and St. Gertrude’s Day to you and yours.
Hahaha! I love the addition of Calista Jo to the poem prompt!
Happy wearin’of the green. It’s important that you don’t get PINCHED.
That’s not only a brilliant poem – but a wonderful edit of the photo with Calista Jo waiting for her turn to go through the magic door! We love that you are putting your kitties in the photos – great poetic inspiration too. We wish you a happy St. Patrick’s Day…..thanks for the link to the post about St. Gertrude and the photo of our pal Angel Mauricio.
