THE CHALLENGE & THANKFULS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

It’s Thursday again, which means Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats) have provided an inspiration photo to spark our creativity. It is another fun one, and I enjoyed crafting a poem to accompany it.

Little boy on a kid's racer car and an elderly man on a power scooter.

The Challenge

Hey, little whippersnapper, look at you go!
Do you want to race me, yes or no?
I may look elderly and fragile,
but I bet I could take you by a mile.
I’ve been riding this scooter since before you were born.
So, you better move over when you hear my horn.
Otherwise, I’ll leave tire tracks on your back
because as a racer I’m ruthless and super fast.
Let’s say we start on the count of three
and may the best racer win…which will be me!

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. Sammy’s one of our favorite poets, and we highly recommend you read his poem for today. Please stop over to Two Spoiled Cats, by clicking on the poetry badge, to check out Sammy’s poem and get the photo for next week’s challenge.

Thankful Thursday

Thursday is also the day we share the things for which we are thankful and then join Angel Brian’s blog hop.

I am thankful I have been conscientiously alleviating myself of old e-mails; though, it still hasn’t been enough to get my account restored. If any of you need to contact Kitties Blue, please use my alternative e-mail address: jbb4vbirtc@aol.com.

I was once again a first commenter on the Tuesday Teaser at Two Spoiled Cats. This week, however, I had to share that distinction with two others who also arrived to class on time.

On Saturday, Dad Tom and I drove to North Carolina where we met up with many old friends to celebrate the memory of our friend, Mary Holly Blalock, at a reception.

Group photo of 12 people.

Tom and I are third and fourth from the left in the front row. Next to me on the opposite side (in the sailboat shirt) is Mary’s husband, Michael. We were just a small group of the large crowd in attendance. Though the reason for our meeting was a sad one, Dad Tom and I are thankful we had this opportunity to pay our respects and swap stories about Mary with friends.

Periwinkle & Stinky would like to thank those who left comments on their Tuesday Adventure post.

Thank you for joining us today. We look forward to seeing you again tomorrow for Friendly Fill-Ins and Feline Friday.
