LONG THANKFUL LIST & WORST NIGHTMARE

Thankful Thursday

I am beginning this week’s Thursday post with thankfuls, as I have so many.

💔 I am and will be eternally thankful for the live streaming from Austin, Texas, of our dear friend, Mary Holly Blalock’s, funeral mass. Mary died unexpectedly last week at age 61. Dad Tom and I spent many good times with Mary through the years.

👏 On Sunday Dad Tom and I attended the stage play of Cabaret. It was our second time seeing it on stage, and it did not disappoint. I am thankful Tom and I had this enjoyable diversion (from the front row) on Father’s Day.

🏄‍♀️ Sixty years ago, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw The Beach Boys live for the first time. Over the years, Dad Tom and I have seen them several times in concert. Last night we had the best time seeing them and signing along (from the fourth row) for two hours with original member, Mike Love, his son, Christian, long-time member Bruce Johnston, a contingent of other (much younger) talented musicians and singers and JOHN STAMOS, of whom I have been a fan since his days as Blackie on General Hospital. He is an extremely talented actor, musician (drums and guitar) and singer. He is only accompanying the group at aa few sites, and we were fortunate that one of those was here in Roanoke!

🏊🏻 I am so thankful our swim/spa is up and running. We are currently having temperatures in the 90s and have enjoyed two afternoons exercising, floating and enjoying the respite from the heat.

🐾 Kitties Blue and I are thankful to those of you who have stuck with us and continue to visit and comment on our posts.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Once again, Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats) have provided a doozy of an inspiration photo for their weekly poetry challenge. These photos are always fun, but I often find it difficult to write a meaningful poem. Regardless, here is the photo and my poem.

Worst Nightmare

Am I being followed?
I sense something is amiss.
Why are those I pass snickering?
I’m truly not amused,
and I’m totally confused.
Finally, I turn and look behind–
that trail of TP–my worst
nightmare come to life.
Thankfully, none of these onlookers
know me. And with some luck,
I’ll never see them again.

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. Sammy is a masterful poet, and we highly recommend you read his poem for today. Please stop over to Two Spoiled Cats, by clicking on the poetry badge, to check out Sammy’s poem and get the photo for next week’s challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to see us today.
