On Thankful Thursday, we are thankful that today is not yesterday when we endured our annual roundup.
Yesterday we were poked, prodded and stuck. Yep, that’s right! Our veterinarian, Dr. Neel, came to the house for our yearly exams and vaccinations. It was pawful! First we were all corralled in the kitchen at breakfast time. We had to remain there together for about 1 1/2 hours before Dr. Neel and Tech Whitney arrived. Then the torture began. Instead of boring you with words, we asked Mom to put together a slideshow. Somehow, Giulietta lucked out and didn’t get her photo taken during the ordeal. Some of us only have one photo. (Move your cursor over bottom of photos for captions.)

See, wasn’t that dreadful.
We all behaved quite well, except for Mauricio and Lily Olivia. Mau was not a good Cat Scout and gave Tech Whitney his best mean snake impression. And Lily complained vociferously. In their defense, we don’t know Whitney. Our usual tech is Tamika. Whitney, however, was quite nice and treated us well.
The good news is that we are all healthy. Lily’s heart murmur, which was discovered on last year’s exam, is unchanged. A few of us, however, are overweight. Since being on Hill’s CD/Stress food, we all have gained a little. Mom and Dr. Neel had a pow-wow with regard to some solutions. We’ll keep you posted with regard to that. We are not reporting our weights here so as not to embarrass anyone.
Now we are good for another year and should not have to visit the veterinarian hospital (except Mau and Misty May who have to have their teeth cleaned). Purrlease keep your paws crossed for the rest of us to stay healthy and at home.
If you have a multi-cat household, we suggest you check with your veterinarian to see if they will make housecalls. Our vet charges a small fee for this, but it is negligible when compared to our multi-cat discount and the time and gas saved by not having to take us (a couple at a time) to the office. And it is much less stressful for us, which is the most impawtant reason to have your vet come to you.
If you’d like to read our post about last year’s roundup, you can do so here or here to read about the 2013 one.
We’ll see you tomorrow when we will be pawticipating in Create with Joy’s Friendship Friday Blog Hop.
Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Oh Miss Fiona, you must not have been very happy to give your Mom that “gift”! Glad you and everyone else are healthy though! You sure look pretty in your pics, Giulietta was very sneaky to avoid the pawpurrazzi! Thinking of you both…
Well at least that visit with the vet is over for this year…providing everyone is good and doesn’t get involved in any ruffian behaviour.
(((Shoko)))
We are glad everything is ok! What a palaver though!!
Awwww what torture, I hate the vet! Mom thought the slideshow was pretty funny though 😉 What a great idea to have the vet come to your house! Glad to hear everyone is doing okay (well, except for the weight, but you gotta live a little, right?!).

That’s great that the vet came to your house – a lot less stressful for the cats and peeps. I love the picture of the 4 cats with the “who me???” looks on their faces.
Hope the dentals go smoothly and no more vet visits are needed until next year.
Well, we are certainly thankful that you all pretty much got the clean bill of health! A vet that makes house calls … very cool!
Glad you got that all done and ovfur with. There is a house call vet here, but we have nevfur tried him…yet… not sure if our regular vet does those.
Minko will gladly take some of your extra ounces…
Pipo could stand to shed more than a few, MOL!
What a great idea to make a slide show! Loved watching them…and well, not the needles and big ouchie…OMC!
It’s grand that your vet and her tech can come to your house where you feel safe to put you all through that torture and agony TOGETHER. You can keep each other calm, cool, and ready to BITE better that way! Glad you’re all finished with that for a year – aren’t you?!
Hugs, Sammy
Glad you all came through it ok!! Grain foods often add to weight gain. They’re high in carbs. – Crepes.
I agree that a home visit is preferable with multi cats and stressed cats. I have had them in the past, but the one near us is very pricey and my cats never need shots at the same time. I am glad you are all doing well.
So glad that you all had good news from the V.E.T. Mau looks pretty dejected after his exam though. Mom started giving us Science diet T/D in hopes that Ralphie won’t need a dental this year, hope it works.

We would love it if our vet came to our house… We’re glad everything went well and you’re all healthy ! Purrs and nose kiss for CJ from Zorro
We would love it if our vet came to our house. Well, actually we would love it even more if we never had to see the vet ever!
I’m glad to hear that you are all very healthy kitties. It may not be our favorite thing, but going to the doctor helps us to make sure our health and wellness goals are on track. Your Mommy must love you a lot to go through the work of making sure you stay healthy. 🙂
We enjoyed the slideshow. Thank your mom for that hard work.
Wow, you have a vet that makes housecalls. That’s less stress for you and humans. Our human is stressed when they take us because Buster won’t stop belting out hits from the Kiss collection.
OMC Awe y’all not da luckiest kitties in da universe. We wish we had a ppawsum VET and they wuld come to ow house. It wuld be so much easier fur all of us. Weez glad to hear yous all be healffy and good fur anudder year. Hav a pawsum and westful day after.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Lexi
That looks like so much fun…NOT! I’m very happy all is okay!
The one good thing is that you aren’t all put into PTU’s and carried off in that moving machine but getting poked and stabbed and robbed of your beautiful claws …well we understand how you all feel. Glad it had a very GOOD outcome for everyone. Purrs.
Wowwzers! Wes never had a house call, but wes all travels well and there is only a few. All the others is good at the vets.
Thanks for sharing as it is always interesting to see other cats with the vet.
Kisses
Nellie
Wow!!! That is quite a slideshow. We feel like it was straight out of a horror movie!!! We are glad to hear that you are all healthy and doing well. That is always good news. We will have to look into our vet doing house calls. Right now we all go in at different times of the year all spread out. Also, our vet is 30 minutes away, so it’s never convenient to go. Having him come to us one time would be most efficient!!! Anyway, Sampy sends 209485720938475 kisses to Astrid, and we all send lots of love!
you are lucky that your vet comes to your house (I think….lol)…that is interesting about the Hill’s………maybe since it is for “stress relief” it is packed with carbs like traditional comfort food?
We parents of the kitties do not see it as dreadful. The kitties see it as otherwise. But it is love that prompts us to do what is needed to keep our brood healthy. And a house call is wonderful – Linus grows suspicious when the carrier just shows up…they are healthy. For today, their ordeal will fade in memory as they continue to provide joy to their parents 🙂
At least that is over for another year. None of you look very thrilled about it. I am glad that everything was okay, (apart from your mum’s arm).
We’re so glad that you are all healthy. We have a question……..why didn’t you guys lock the door so the doctor lady couldn’t get in??? We have heard Mom mumbling about our annual trip to see the doctor person. Our favorite doctor man has another job so we don’t know who we will be seeing. We vote for skipping it! MOL!!
Thank you all for sharing your “ordeal” with your readers. The pictures really tell the story. So very happy to read that you are all healthy even of a tad overweight and you will not have to face being poked, prodded and stuck again for another year.
Happy Purrs to all and special nose kisses to Ms Lisbeth,
C S Charles
It’s pawesome that you have a housecall vet in your area. That’s something that’s still very hard to find here.
That is quite a production. Most of you did not look any happier than I do when I go see my vet. I don’t mind going to the vet too much…it os the car ride I really hate.
I’m glad everybody checked out well.
Being a bit overweight and clean some toothie´s doesn´t sound like a big deal 🙂
But losing weight can be hard , say´s my mom-person 😀
XOXO
Great news and so pleased you are all well. Onwards and upwards we say. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
Wow, that was quite a production! I’m glad everybody checked out well (weight thing aside), and only a couple of you needed teeth cleaning.
Whew! We’re glad that’s over for y’all. Lucky you have a vet that makes house calls. We still have to be crammed in a PTU and dragged to the vet clinic.
Hope you have a restful Thursday!
XOXO
I’m glad your check-ups went well. A house call sounds like a great option for keeping kitties low-stress.
Glad da vet visit went fairly well!
Liked the slide show — you are all beautiful kitties, but it was difficult/impossible to read the informative captions of who is who because of the “dots” to advance to the next slide were mixed underneath/superimposed on the captions.
