Caturday Art
I decided to take the day off on Thanksgiving and not write a post for Friday so I didn’t do the Friendly Fill-Ins this week. But Kitties Blue are back today with Caturday Art. This is our favorite blog hop (other than our own), and we never want to miss it. Here’s this week’s creation.
If you think this is Astrid, raise your paw.
Wait…not so fast. It may look just like her…but we fooled you! Here’s the actual kitty, Lily Olivia!
I started with a photo of Lily surrounded by wrapping paper from last Christmas. I added the Derain filter from Dreamscope. I was happy with this and the vibrant colors, but it just didn’t hit the right note for me. I tinkered for several hours, using a variety of free, on-line photo-editing apps. I just couldn’t get the right look until I loaded the above into piZap. I bumped up the saturation, zapped it with the Invert filter and added two borders. The final step was the frame from Picasa. Magically Lily Olivia morphed into Astrid!

Sunday Selfies
Yep, it’s that time again. The weeks are zipping by us. It is week number 120 of our blog hop. Soon Christmas will be here and then 2017. We know it is a super busy time of year for everyone, but Kitties Blue and I sincerely hope you’ll continue to take a few moments each week to snap a selfie and join our blog hop.
We have no idea who will be here to greet you tomorrow, so you’ll just have to drop in and see for yourself.
Until then…toodles!
Hey we love that! And you did have our human fooled, she told us all about it. Ah, the old inversion maneuver….
Wow! That was a great transformation, and some wonderful art. We were totally fooled by your artistic wizardry into thinking that was Astrid. 🙂
We managed to do everyone last week on the Sunday Selfie AND the Thankful Thursday. In spite of having our window blowout at 3 a.m. last night at the end of a restless week for mm. We said it and we will keep saying it >>>>> Swizzle – ADOPTED – YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
It must be a day for blessings as our pal Tiny Pearl Cat, on Twitter, cares for a feral called Lenny. He is allowing strokes now! I think, with winter coming on, that hi mom and dad are thrilled at this development.
Pretty cool but so’s the original Dreamscope painting.

Looks like magic turned you into the second one, Lili Olivia. We like them both btw 🙂 Pawkisses for a Happy Caturday 🙂 <3
Both photos are equally lovely thanks for sharing have a great holiday weekend
They both came out great, especially the second one. I am impressed you spent so long on it, I am lazy and won’t spend more than 10 minutes on my “art” so I use the easy ones where you add a face. XO
What colorful and happy art! We love it! You have such a skillful and artistic way with photo editing. I wish I had even a fraction of that. I’m doing good if I can figure out how to crop an image. Purrs, and we’ll see you tomorrow with a festive selfie!
You do look very pretty Lily Olivia!
Those are colorful pics of Lily Olivia!
That is so cool! I love both pictures, and I especially like how the red poinsettia paper in the second one contrasts with Lily’s coloring. Thanks for sharing how you did it. So many ideas…. 🙂
What an amazing “road” you took through creativity to find the final product….it’s smashing……beautiful artwork. BRAVO!
Love, Sammy
I like both versions, but I am partial to the top one! Hope you enjoyed your thanksgiving!
I think both versions of the picture are cool!
