Thankful Thursday
Today’s thankfuls all focus on our tiny and demanding houseguests. (If you have no idea to what I am referring, check out yesterday’s post.)

The kitty in the top photo is the ring leader and one of two females.
The rescue that refused to take the kittens yesterday turned that around today. Prior to finding that out, however, Barn Cat Buddies contacted me. Astrid and Calista Jo are alumni of BCB, and we have volunteered and donated to them for the past 14 years.
When the kittens are old enough/weigh enough to be spayed/neutered, BCB will take care of that (including financially) as well as their vaccinations. BCB is affiliated with Toe Bean Cafe, which is a gorgeous and well-managed facility. Periwinkle and Stinky visited there, and if you missed that post, click on the link in the previous sentence.
Barn Cat Buddies will also come out and TNR the adult cats, of which we now know there are at least eight.
The next thankful is for my dear friend, Etna, who came over yesterday and helped us bathe the kittens. They were absolutely covered with fleas. Flea shampoo cannot be used on kittens. We had to use Dawn dishwashing soap and will have to bathe them again in a week. Etna has volunteered to help again. She also brought food, yesterday, for the cats still on the loose.
The pictured kittens will be joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop. If you would like to do the same, click on the badge below.
I must extend apologies to Teddy, Angel Sammy and Mom Pam for not having a poem for Thoroughly Poetic Thursday.
Going Forward
So, we will have our hands full for the next several weeks. I will do my best to post and visit, but as I am still going to out-patient physical therapy, I can make no promises. I hope to get a routine down, so that I can accomplish everything I need to do.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Blogging is the least of your concerns. I’m so glad the adults will have TNR care, and hope if they are actually former housepets, they will calm enough for it to show so they can get into an adoption program.
Lulu: “Such adorable babies! We are so happy that you and the rescues have stepped up to save them! I am a total mama dog when it comes to kittens, in case you can’t tell …”
I am glad someone will take them and get them homes. Also glad the older ones will be helped too. XO
What joy to see those babies! I missed yesterday so here I go to see it.
spy-dee-catz!!
#1 comment: take care of yourself and your family; we will be here.
#2 comment: great to hear that you’ll have help with the kittens, and for the adult cats outside.
#3 comment: if we lived closer, I’d probably stop by to visit, then stuff two or more kittens in my pockets and run away!
Take all the time you need. We’re sure your new little friends need a LOT of time and attention. Thank COD for good friends and the barn Cat Buddies.

THose kittens sure look great after their Dawn flea bath! That’s a good friend who will help with those kitties. So glad that rescue is going to take care of them and also the adults! We’ll see you whenever you have time. (Didn’t realize you are still going to physical therapy…yikes!)

You are taking on so much even though you were already doing so much! Bless you, Etna and BCB for rescuing the babies and attempting to trap and help the “grown-ups”. It’s a HUGE undertaking for sure. No worries about poems – this is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing – giving those little ones a chance and the adults a happier life as well. Take care of yourselves in the midst of taking care of so many!!!!
Love and Hugs, Pam
