Cat World Domination Day: 10th Anniversary

I have been playing catch up most of the week, so it is probably no surprise that I am posting one day late for Cat World Domination Day. In order to recognize the special 10 year anniversary of this observance, Astrid is sitting on top of the world.

 

 

Cat World Domination Day was created by Janiss Garza in 2012 on the day her cat, Sparkle, celebrated her 10th birthday. Sparkle thought humans should acknowledge that cats were in charge. The creation of the holiday was a way to recognize that. Sparkle only got to celebrate the annual holiday three times. She passed away in August 2014, just two months after her twelfth birthday. Sparkle’s successor, Summer, from Summer’s Fabulous Cat Life as continued to celebrate and promote the holiday in Sparkle’s honor.
