Sunday Selfies: Week #522
Dear friends,
So, I know you expected to see me today, as Mom told you yesterday I would be your host. She also said I had an ulterior motive in requesting this unenviable duty. And she was correct. In my opinion, the only thing worse than having to take and post a selfie is being subjected to this embarrassment I am suffering. And there is no one to blame but my humans, as my dad had a small part in my torture.

Can you believe this is what my day-to-day existence has become? I have been informed that unless I quit licking my belly, this is my fate for the foreseeable future. The eosinophilic granuloma on my belly has improved, but I wouldn’t stop licking it. Dr. McBane said if I did not leave it alone, I would have to get one of those stupid, plastic cones.
Well, I have to give my mom some props for making me this collar from some of my dad’s tube socks. It is very soft. I can eat and sleep in it, jump up any place I like and even fit through the cat door. And, I definitely cannot lick my belly. So let me set the record straight: I do not want to wear this, but it isn’t really the worst thing ever. And I did frighten Lisbeth. MOL! She was in her usual place at the top of the cat tree. I was in the foyer and she saw me. Mom said her eyes looked as if she’d spied an alien. She was too scared to look away, and she wouldn’t eat her dinner. That was fun!
So, that’s my tale of woe. And now that I’ve told it, it’s time for me to go. Mom will fill you in on that hopping stuff!
Purrs & paw-pats, Calista Jo
Hopping Time

I would apologize for C.J. going on a rant about her latest fashion accessory, but sometimes a cat just has to vent. At least I got a selfie out of her.
Now, it is your turn to share your selfie with us. I am certain none of you will be showing up sporting a stink-eyed stare. But we always look forward to seeing each of you, no mater what’s up. We do understand if you cannot get by today. The hop will be open through Thursday.
Thanks for dropping in to see us. Have an easy Sunday, dear friends.

Oh, we missed this, you poor kitty. BUT what a wonderful mama to invent what she did an guess whay, she could make a LIVING doing that or starting a company selling those…Call them Neck n’Neck or White Collar Kitty Helper or Nick Lick
Oh no. I’m sorry you have to wear the donut, but it is better than the dreaded cone of shame. Hopefully this allows the skin on your tummy to heal. You are as cute as can be considering the circumstances.
This is actually a brilliant idea by your Mum. I had a collar but it was flat and wide. It did the trick and I could lick paws and tail but not my incision. You will be fine, go with the flow and stop tummy licking!
Oona: “Oona is not a lawyer, she is a ninja, but she is pretty sure you can sue over having to wear a sock around your neck. And if you can’t sue, take it all the way to the highest court in the land until they say you can!”
You look adorable!!!
Calista Jo, if your misery wants company, our Charismatic Enigma SissyCat is overgrooming her belly, too, and I just might be paying your mom to make me one of these for her if the meds don’t work.
Calista Jo, I am really upset with you. Mommy read this and now she knows how to make one of those abominable neck things that she could use to keep me from licking, too. It’s the pollen, ya know? Grrr. Xena Pee Ess: Have a good week.
That is a great idea! Hopefully, Calista Jo will be healed soon.
YIKESS!!! Calist Jo you been thru it mee Couzin! Propss to aunty Janet foe makin a soft collar fore you! Aunty yore so so clevurr!
Cali Jo yore Stink Eyed Selfie iss purrfection!!
***nose bopss*** BellaDahrma an {{{huggiess}}} BellaSita Mum
Pee S: Thanx fore yore linkin thing Aunty…
Calista Jo, the collar or no lick…it’s you choice, but we know that it’s very hard.
We’re sorry you have to wear that but your Mom was smart to fix you up with something comfy.
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle
CJ, I couldn’t find your Mommy’s newest address. I wanted to tell her I can’t seem to get into the blog hop. I’ll try all over again.
You poor kitty. You still look cute though. Thanks for hosting. Have a nice day. XO
I feel sorry for you, Calista Jo, and don’t blame you one bit for that stink eye. I hope the licking stops soon and you can lose that crazy necklace. ~Murphy
I sure hope your belly is better so you can stop licking it and get out of your sock hop sweet girl.
Oh CJ, what a fate BUT if you try super duper hard NOT to lick…you can take it off. I think your Mom was very clever coming up with this substitute for a plastic collar! Do YOUR part nd be a good girl!
We can’t blame you for that stink-eye, CJ – although you actually look quite elegant with that cone. It’s much, much better than the horrid plastic Cone of Shame, certainly!
We would have liked to see you scaring Lisbeth (mol).
Vent away, CJ. At least they were clean socks you were subjected to. Maybe your staff sewing team can make a variety of neck wear in various patterns to suit the seasons and your mood?
ERin
Well CJ that tube-sock collar is at least very comfy and doesn’t keep you from enjoying all the stuff you like and heaven knows it’s better than the CONE OF DOOM. Maybe you will leave your tummy alone now which would be a GOOD thing. I’m sending you a bag of POTP in case you need it though!!!!
Hugs, Teddy
That is quite the stink eye, Calista Jo. That was a clever invention by your mom, and much better than the plastic cone of shame. Be a good girl and let that small spot heal and you will be free of it again.
That cone is a must have for all kitties who need it., CJ. Your mom has to go in business with this invention😸😸Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all of you, sweet KittiesBlue🐾😽💞
Wow, what a great innovation! We think that’s got to be more comfy than the cone, any day! Calista Jo I know you still don’t like it, but surely you’ll feel better once that spot on your belly heals!
You should be so very thankful that that cone allows just about any kind of activity you want to do…except lick that spot on your belly! Let it heal up.CJ, its for your own good!
We did kind of giggle at your stink eye though! Sorry, we couldn’t help it!
Lisbeth must have thought you got very large all of a sudden, MOL!
Well, Calista Jo, we do have to agree that is way better than the plastic cone of shame. How clever of Mom Janet to make that for you. And how funny that you got to scare Lisbeth with it. We hope your belly stops itching so you you’ll no longer feel the need to lick it. Oh, by the way, even with the tube socks around your neck, we think you selfie is very nice. 🙂
