Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
In addition to sharing our thankfuls each Thursday, Kitties Blue and I participate in the Two Spoiled Cats’ (Teddy and Angel Sammy) poetry challenge. They provide an inspiration photo, and participants use that as a jumping off point for a poem.
Here’s the photo and my poem.
Christmas Overload
Did Christmas throw up on this house?
I’m surprised they forgot Mickey Mouse.
This must have taken months to complete
And probably produces lots of heat.
I imagine the power meter spinning fast
And a January electric bill quite vast.
I love Christmas and lots of lights,
But these folks have gone to ridiculous heights
To show off their holiday spirit to their neighbors
And impress them with their monumental labors.
I hope they still had time to enjoy the season—
Otherwise for this huge display I see no reason!

If you would like to find links to poetry by your fellow bloggers, click on the poetry badge to visit Two Spoiled Cats. While there, make certain you read Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge each week, and he is a masterful poet.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Great poem that says a lot about how some people celebrate not the season but something else entirely. We do like houses with big displays but not overly done.
We are thankful for those things too and apologize for missing visiting on Thanksgiving as Dad was having some extra stress but is mostly back to his normal 70%.
Happy Thanksgiving a few days late
Great poem. Happy Thanksgiving! XO
I think this theme can be developed indefinitely Good writing. Studied somewhere or simply with experience has come?

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Lots of folks around us have those blow-up figures, but during the day they are flat…it’s kind of funny!
Happy and safe Thanksgiving, sweet friends. We hope your day is super special. We’re so very thankful for you! XO
Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for your friendship!!
We laughed at the “Christmas threw up” comment because sometimes Mom thinks the inside of our house looks like that!

GREAT POEM! We envision a spinning electric meter too and a major electric bill as a result but we also think this family doesn’t care a bit – they are in the spirit – BIG TIME! Thanks for your wonderful poem and also know that we are MORE than Thankful for your friendship today and EVERY day. Have a wonderful family Thanksgiving.
Hugs, Teddy and Mom
