Thankful Thursday
Each Thursday Kitties Blue and I try to share the things from the past week for which we are thankful. Then we participate in the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Angel Brian.
I am so grateful for the beautiful fleece blanket with Astrid’s image that Noelle/Periwinkle and Reesie’s mom, Sharon (Friends Furever), sent me as a remembrance of my sweet angel.
My rehabilitation of my left knee is progressing for which I am truly thankful. I have been able to get back on Peloton for a few ten-minute sessions. At this point, I am only able to pedal backwards, but it is a start. I am now in outpatient therapy, which is very difficult, but I am pushing forward.
Kitties Blue and I are thankful for all of you who follow, comment, join our blog hop and support us. I know my posting has been a bit hit and miss the last few weeks, but I will try to get back to doing so on a more regular basis.
Periwinkle and Stinky want to thank those of you who joined them on Tuesday. If you missed this week’s adventure, they baked homemade cat treats and shared the recipe. To check out that post if you missed it, click here.

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Today is also the day I share poetry based on an inspiration photo provided by Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats). Here is today’s photo. Below is the haiku I wrote for this week.

I think I’ll snap a selfie
For Sunday’s blog hop

Though this is a Japanese Snow Monkey (not a chimpanzee), I would like to dedicate this to Dame Jane Goodall, English zoologist, primatologist and anthropologist, who passed away yesterday at age 91.
Plus, it is a bit of self promotion for our Sunday Selfies blog hop.
Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. Angel Sammy is one of our favorite poets. So, please head over to Two Spoiled Cats and check out his poem. You can find it by clicking on the poetry badge. While visiting, check out the inspiration photo for next week and join us in writing some poetry.
Thanks so much for stopping in today.

I’m glad your rehab is continuing apace and hope you are back to doing everything you love doing soon.
A selfie from a snow monkey would be a fun one in your hop, wouldn’t it. I very much enjoyed your haiku.
Poem: right to the point, LOL! Did not know about Miss Goodall passing. May she rest in peace. She did so much good in her life.
Cute poem and wonderful thankfuls. XO

Charlee: “That is a great list of thankfuls and a great tribute to Jane Goodall!”
Chaplin: “Our Dada has some greeting cards here from Jane Goodall’s organization that he has never used. They were painted by chimpanzees using their hands and feet!”
Glad you are recovering well ~ You always have the best posts and fun poetry ~ thanks,

An excellent poem, and of course you should self-promote.
Dr. Jane Goodall was a beacon of rationality in our fight to reclaim our world; she will be greatly missed.
We’re glad your blanket arrived and you like it. We hope it turned out as we had hoped.
You’re doing great in your knee recovery! Mom is trying to get back to walking. It was sad to read about Jane Goodall.

Mommy and I missed it because of the Vet and my problems. But we will catch up. So glad that you are progressing in your recovery! Though for a different problem, I know what a joy it is to get better and better.
I just read about Jane Goodall’s passing a minute before reading your post. She really was amazing.
Lovely Jane Goodall, whom we all adored and admired. What a loss. For us and the chimpanzee/monkey world she so loved and enhanced.
Rehab is a lot of work but you are an example of determination if ever there was one! We love your poem too – it’s a fun photo isn’t it……I have to wonder what on earth that little guy thought of that “magic machine” ! My Mom cried when she saw the news this morning about Jane Goodall passing away – if ever someone deserved a special place in heaven (near the animals I’m sure) – SHE does…….
Hugs and Happy Thursday! Teddy and Mom
Good to hear that your recovery is ongoing! We were sad to hear of the loss of Jane Goodall, but glad she accomplished so much for the understanding of animals.
