Uniting the World for Orphan Pets
We are joining Remember Me Thursday® and have lit a candle at RememberMeTursday.org for our sweet Swizzle. Swizzle is the kitty we continue to sponsors at PAWS of Connecticut. She’s been waiting for more than a year for her new forever home.
Candles lit on this day (the fourth Thursday of September annually) across the world honor the pets who lose their lives without the opportunity to know the comforts of a loving home. These candles shine brightly on the millions of healthy pets who are still awaiting adoption—just like beautiful Swizzle.
The Remember Me Thursday® global awareness campaign encourages individuals to light a candle this day (literally or virtually) and to opt to adopt, reducing the millions of orphan pets euthanized each year.
Our four rescued cats, Astrid, Lily Olivia, Lisbeth and Calista Jo invite you to join us, other pet-lovers and advocates and animal welfare organizations around the world in lighting your own candle. Visit the link listed in the first paragraph to light your candle and learn more about Remember Me Thursday®. Or light your own candle at home. Just make certain it is either battery operated or in an area your pets cannot access.
We hope Swizzle finds her forever home soon. She is truly lovely. We participated in this worthwhile event in the past but our Mama was away and didn’t foresee planning for it this year! Oops. May all the homeless pets the world over find love and a family.

Thank you so much for this beautiful post, and for loving and sponsoring our sweet pal Swizzle. You are all such wonderful friends, and we are so, so grateful for you. HUGS!
I did. And I shared it on Face Book too as well as the permanent badge in the side bar on my blog. This cause and there reason for it is what breaks my heart. Poor precious innocent babies.
ahhhh…you guys hit our hearts…wish we could have more fur family members; sadly I, Savannah have already had such a tough time trying to accept Sage…the stress has likely contributed to my increasing IBD. sigh….
We’re purring for all the shelter kitties…’specially the ones who have been waiting too long to find their furever homes.
I sure hope sweet Swizzle gets to go home soon. Such a beautiful post!!!
I hope Swizzle and all those waiting for their homes find them soon.
We pray for the day that every kitty has a forever home.
Swizzle and the others are such fine looking cats. Wish I could have them all as brothers and sisters.

Purrs for Swizzle. We hope that her forever family finds her very very soon.
Swizzle is in Connecticut? I am from there, originally, and still have many friends in that area. I’ll send her info on, hopefully one will take her.
our candle is lit
Poor Swizzle, I hope she gets her forever home soon. I will light the virtual candle.
We hate that Swizzle hasn’t been adopted yet! However, we know that while she may not have her own home, she is loved by Mom Janet, Dad Tom, and Kitties Blue, and Meowmeowmans and Tracy! We do hope someone adopts her soon though.
Sampy sends his beautiful Astrid 20934857209387510928 kisses, and we all send lots of love!
Wonderful wonderful cause. We participated last year but this year found out about it too late…….wonderful post!
We can’t believe Swizzle still doesn’t have a forever home!
The Florida Furkids with special smoochies and love to Mau
ps….Allie hopes Mau stops by our blog today.
My heart aches for those animals who aren’t in an atmosphere of love and permanence or who never feel a warm hug or blanket to snuggle with……..we will have our battery operated candle lit today to honor those who NEED homes – everywhere.
Love, Sammy
We are purring for Swizzle and all of the other cats who may be forgotten to find the security of their forever homes soon.
Lovely post. All animals deserve a loving forever home.
Purrs xx

We are purring for Swizzle and hope she finds her forever home very soon. We sponser a cage at Cats Protection in the UK and every time the cage changes paws they send us pictures of the cat that finds their loving home with their new guardian and the cat(s) that take over their cage.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
We wish, hope and pray for a home for Swizzle and all other orphan cats everywhere.
I hope Swizzle’s home comes along soon!
A lovely tribute, indeed. You are a blessing to so many. Thank you. ♥
Oh what a lovely tribute. It’s sad that so many still wait in the shelters and some shelters don’t even let them have all the time to wait.
