Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
This is the day when I like to participate in the poetry challenge at Two Spoiled Cats. They provide us with an inspiration photo, and along with Angel Sammy, participants write and share a poem. Here’s this week’s inspiration photo, with a very small addition, followed by a tongue-in-cheek poem from Stinky.

Periwinkle The Brave
This really doesn’t look like fun.
Can we please just lie in the sun?
Then we can wade up to our knees
and enjoy this delightful breeze.
Perhaps you would reconsider?
I’m frightened I’ll fall in the river.
What if my life vest doesn’t inflate?
As a swimmer I’m not that great.
I guess I’m really not one for adventure,
especially one involving danger.
If you want to go, I’ll wait here
and when you paddle by give a cheer!
As I can now plainly see…
you are much braver than me.

Each week Angel Sammy transmits his poem from the Rainbow Bridge to Teddy for publication. Sammy writes amazing poetry, which is always worth reading. Please stop over to Two Spoiled Cats, by clicking on the poetry badge, to check out Sammy’s poem and get the photo for next week’s challenge.
Thankful Thursday
I always look forward to the opportunity to share Kitties Blue and my thankfuls with you.
I am not certain the kitties agree, but Dad Tom and I are super thankful that the bird brain cardinal has moved on.

This week I was the First Right Guesser on the Two Spoiled Cats‘ Tuesday Teaser. That is a very rare occurrence. I received this badge.

We have signs of spring popping up in the yard. A patch of small lilac flowers from bulbs I planted on Giulietta’s grave in fall of 2022 are blooming and some purple crocus. Several daffodils will be opening soon. I will try to get Dad Tom to take some photos when it stops raining.
Stinky is thankful I am making some progress on the landing page which will give our readers easy access to all The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky.
As always, Kitties Blue and I are thankful for everyone who visits our blog, comments and joins our Sunday Selfies blog hop. Don’t forget that this Sunday will be a special hop dedicated to Dr. Seuss. You can find frames to use for your selfie photos (if you like) here.
The Kitties Blue and I will be participating in the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Angel Brian. Click on the badge below to join in the hop.
Thanks for stopping by today. We hope to see you again tomorrow for Friendly Fill-Ins and Feline Friday.

I saw this yesterday and somehow didn’t comment. We are all sooo proud of Periwinkle!!
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle
Fun poem. I want to go down a river, but not quite as rough as this one.
Spring is coming, the azaleas are starting.
I hope it’s okay if we participate Sunday even though I have not been able to figure out how to put your photo frames around a photo. I’m awful at editing photos and have no clue what I’m doing.
Bravo, that really was a great poem. Bye-bye crazy Cardinal and those were good thankfuls too. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
That was a fun poem. Stinky, you had plenty of adventure when you escaped. Our pussywillows are almost open, out first hint of spring. XO
I’ve seen other Cardinals going nuts over a window or even a car rear view mirror. Funny for a while and then not so funny as it continues. I see peeks of mini daffs in color in my yard, but not enough for real Spring of course. Precious looks forward to her 2nd summer of catio time. For now it is watching birdies feed and leaves blow. Lynn and Precious
Was that cardinal pecking at the window?
See’s his reflection, think he’s a rival!
I’ll watch from the shore, and cheer.
Love that poem! No way would I get in a raft but Periwinkle is a “risk taker” and is always up for a good time even if it’s a little skeeery! We are happy for you that Mr. Cardinal has decided no matter how long he hung out at the window you were NOT going to let him inside…..LOL
Hugs, Teddy
We’re welcoming a few signs of spring, too. Good poetry, I’ll gladly watch rapids from river banks and float down calm rivers but go through rapids? Nope, nope, nope!
