Memorial Day Spark
To all those who have lost family or friends while in the service of our country, Kitties Blue and I send our condolences.

The author of today’s Spark, Francis A. Walker (1840-97), was a brevet Brigadier General in the Union Army. He also served for 15 years as President of MIT beginning in 1881.
Sparks is the creation of Annie from McGuffy’s Reader. It began as a blog hop, created by our friend. Annie stated when she began Sparks, “I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world.”
The Adventures of Periwinkle & Stinky
Tomorrow is the special day when Periwinkle and Stinky set out on a new adventure. Stinky has shared with me that he will be taking Periwinkle to visit a place Dad Tom and I visited many years ago. I know he’s hoping she enjoys it. I also know and Periwinkle and he will be looking for you. Please don’t let our fun-loving tabbies down.
Thanks for joining us today.

We love your blog and read every one but may not comment for a few days because of family gathering and too much action all the time, haha. But we’re here and read!
My hat is off to all who served and especially to all who gave their all.
Lulu: “That is a great way to think about Memorial Day!”

Love and whisker kisses,

My Dad didn’t die in a conflict but he was very proud to be in the US Air Force for his whole working life. Visiting his grave in Arlington Cemetery, where so many heroes are resting, is a very sobering experience – those thousands who lost their lives honored as far as the eye can see. Memorial Day is our way of honoring them all.
Hugs, Pam
It is good to have a special day put aside to honor and always remember our heroes.
These terrible losses should be remembered and honored. Memorial Day is so sad, but important.
