THEME: MUSICAL
Giulietta: Would you pipe down please. Some of us are trying to nap.

Calista Jo had been sitting atop the PTU on the left (containing Giulietta), but she jumped down, of course, before I could snap the photo. (That is her lurking in the background behind the blue carrier.)
Lisbeth: I am just trying to find out why I am in this PTU.
Giulietta: Chill…you’ll find out soon enough.
Lisbeth: Hey, what’s happening now? Why are we in the car?
Giulietta: Wow, you are clueless!
Lisbeth: MOM, why are we in the car?
Giulietta: She’s not going to tell you.
Lisbeth: Why not? Is she giving us away? Doesn’t she like us anymore?
Giulietta: Don’t be a twit. We are going to see Dr. Neel.
Lisbeth: That can’t be right. She always comes to the house and I hide UTB.
Giulietta: Not if you are sick.
Lisbeth: I didn’t know I was sick. Are you sick?

Giulietta chilling while Lisbeth is getting her sonogram. (Note flecks of catnip on the blanket and how some kitty needs a good brushing.)
Giulietta: My right eye keeps running.
Lisbeth: Where’s it going?
Giulietta: No place…it keeps having tears come out.
Lisbeth: Are you sad?
Giulietta: No…that’s why I am seeing Dr. Neel.
Lisbeth: Oh. I’m sorry!
Giulietta: Now, will you please be quiet. I’d like to snooze a little before we get to Dr. Neel’s office.
Lisbeth: But you didn’t tell me what’s wrong with me?
Giulietta: You have been going to the litter box too often and constantly licking in a spot I am to much of a lady to speak about. And someone has been peeing in inappropriate places.
Lisbeth: Oh that!
Giulietta: Now can you please pipe down?
Lisbeth: I don’t think so. I’m a little scared. Can we hold paws through the bars?
Giulietta: If that’s the only thing that will get you to shut-up, sure. Why not?
Lisbeth showed her displeasure by bellowing from door to door on the way to the VET, which is about a 20-minute drive, as well as the entire time we were in the waiting room. I think she used some HBO words I don’t even know.

Giulietta wedged herself against the wall and hid her face when Lisbeth returned to the room. While they waited for their nails to be trimmed, Lisbeth just kept pushing Giulietta further and further into the wall.
Once we entered the exam room, she immediately stopped and never made another sound until the ride home. And those, thankfully, were only intermittent. She actually has never been to the VET’s office before. All her kitten shots and spaying were at the shelter, and I think she has no memory of that. I can’t blame her for being nervous.
Both girls were exceptionally good the entire time we were in the exam room. Our VET is trying to make the atmosphere more cat friendly. They had a blanket on the exam table with catnip and a toy, which Lisbeth immediately threw to the floor. And they have a Feliway plug-in. I do think it was more calming than in the past. Future plans, include separate waiting rooms for the kitties and woofies.
Giulietta has conjunctivitis and a blocked tear duct. She is getting eye drops, and I have to massage the duct. Giulietta does not mind having this done. If it doesn’t unblock, then she’ll need to see Dr. Neel again. Our very first kitty, Skooter, had this problem.
A sonogram showed no stones or other problems with Lisbeth’s bladder. She may have stress cystitis from all the commotion of workmen at the house most days or maybe bacterial cystitis. She is supposed to get a half pill everyday but refuses to take it. If necessary she’ll get some amitriptyline for stress.
All-in-all, not the worse trip to the VET.

We love that your vet is making it more cat friendly there. And we are pleased that it was not such a bad visit, either. We are purring and praying for Lisbeth and Giulietta … get well soon, sweet ones.
I think separate waiting areas for dogs and cats is a great idea. I always get anxious when a big dog tries to sniff me while I’m in my carrier.
crikey, hope you both feel better soon,xx Speedy
The VET is never a fun place, but we are glad that the doctor was able to help you. We hope you both begin to feel better very soon!!
For Lisbeth, they make pill pockets. Has your mom tried one of those? She can hide the treat in it so you don’t notice it. It’s just like eating a treat 🙂 She could also try to hide it in other foods you like, like a little piece of cheese or some of your wet noms.
Purrs,
Carmine, Milita, and Jewel
Huge hugs from the UK xxx
Let’s hope the treatments work and neither need a follow up. Paws crossed and get well soon. Have a serene Sunday.
Best wishes Molly
Aw, I am glad you had each other’s paw to hold on the way, and I’m also glad that you gotted mostly all fixed up. We think you should take your pill, Lisbeth. The Human thinks that if *I* ever need a pill, she will have to call in the National Guard because there is NO WAY I am gonna swallow anything I don’t wanna swallow. NO WAY. Hope you girls feel better! XOXOXO
We hopez that Lisbeth and Giulietta are both feeling better. Having workmen in the house can be very skeery and very stressful. Going to see the Vet is stressful too. Itz nice that your Vet is trying to make the office cat friendly. Taking pills is horrible, we hatez it. We have to take liquid meddycashen becuz we refuse to takez pills. We hopez you take your meddycashun becuz it will make you feel better. Love, Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S)
Healing purrz for you guys. TW has a blocked tear duck. Her eyes are very dry. Are you ready for this? She has cystitis too and goes bathroom a lot.
Oh, the Stabby Place. We all hate going there. But sometimes it’s required – we hope both of you beautiful ladycats get better very quickly.
I hope everything gets better soon! Hey, let me tell you, I can belt it out in the car, and I have made way too many singing tours lately!
I hope Lisbeth and Giulietta are better soon! I do think stress may be causing Lisbeth’s problems – that would stress out lots of kitties!
Awww my beautiful Lisbeth, you need to take that pill. I know it is not pleasant but it will make you feel better. It also helps sometimes to give a little bitey to the fingers giving you the pill, like an exchange of favor, you know.
You both take care of yourselves and take your medicine!
I am glad your vet visits weren’t too bad. I sing warrior songs when I go to the vet too.
Glad things weren’t too bad at the vet. It’s time for Truffle’s annual visit.
How true it all sounds…. Next Saturday we have a vet visit for KAhli’, my renal impaired 13 yr old. She is generally good at the vet.
Then Paladin the overweight pale orange male cat AKA Price Charming has to be seen… He won’t be so charming then, he is terrified of strangers, but this lady vet is very kind and sweet with the animals, so I am hoping for the best. He is 12 ( Paladin, not the vet…) and I think he has started his decline too. Bye for now, Vera and the 3 cats.
We sing mighty Songs of Our People, too! Nothing puts fear into the hearts of Humans like a good old-fashioned caterwaul…
Or, perhaps not.
Hope they are feeling better soon.
Purrs and cuddles
Oh, that was me…Wally…commenting. 🙂
We’re not big fans of going to the v-e-t, either, but Ernie is the one that sings the whole way there. I stay pretty quiet. And Zoey, well, she’s a wild one and goes crazy when she gets put in the PTU.
We’re glad all went well for you two, and we hope you both are feeling better. Zoey has had stress cystitis in the past.
*whew* that was a bit of a wake up call girls. WE are glad all in all it was a clean bill of health and everyone will be OK. No one likes going to the VET.
Pill pockets are yummy..not the cat ones,oh no…the duck and pea (oops no pun intended) ones for dogs are the best.
The only thing ,in our opinion, that would make the trip to the vets better…is if the vet went somewhere else.
The REAL Maple Syrup Mob xxxxx
PS Our vet’s cats like their pills in some stinky bratwurst.
We’re glad both girls will be fine. Lisbeth, take your meds! It will make you feel better. That’s nice of your vet to try to make the clinic more cat friendly though we aren’t sure how the cats would appreciate it. :p
Oh we send purrs for pretty Lisbeth to feel better and not, umm, miss anymore and for Giilietta’s eye to heal up.
I like to sing on the way to the vet too. Maybe a duet next time? Meow what a good vet.
Vroom Vroom Mauricio
Timmy
purrs to them both. hope they are feeling better soon
Get well soon girls ! Purrs
Oh girls I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well…..sounds like your doctor and your Mom are taking good care of you…..Lisbeth I wish you’d take your pill though – what if your Mom jammed it in a piece of chicken so it tasted good??? I hate pills too! I only ever had to take them ONCE thank heavens and that was when I was a little guy. Feel better soon ladies!
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
Oh babies, get well soon. I wish we had a cat friendly practice here. The nearest is over 40 minutes away and mom and I live in the hills and mountains and would not be able to get there in bad snowy icy weathers.
