Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
I bet you won’t be surprised that we have another silly cat poem this week. Kizmet popped into the inspiration photo provided by Teddy and Angel Sammy from Two Spoiled Cats. And just like Cooper Murphy did last week, she wrote the poem as well.
I Deserve a Treat!
Oh miss, is one of those drinks for me?
It is terribly hot in this car with no A/C.
I’m certain it’s plain for you to see
That I am overly warm and incredibly thirsty.
Actually, you know what would be my dream?
A extra large bowl of vanilla ice cream.
I’m on my way home from a trip to the vet;
It’s a really lousy place to take your pet.
I got a shot and they trimmed my claws—
That procedure should be against the law!
I was told if I was good, I could have a treat
So add to my order some hamburger meat.
I believe these things will satisfy my needs
And prevent me from making my human bleed.
Thanks so much in advance for your help today.
I promise Mom will leave a big tip when she pays.

I actually found this photo amusing, as I worked for A & W for a few weeks in the summer of 1969. I was fired! The reason why escapes me. (This photo obviously is from at least a decade earlier.)

Thankful Thursday
Cooper Murphy is thankful for the last class of the school year at Cat Scout University. He received 100% on his quiz and earned this cool merit badge.
Octopuses are fascinating, and both Cooper and I learned a lot in the class.
Sawyer, Dad Tom and I are thankful for his enjoying four weeks without a seizure. (He’s been much better about eating his med-laced noms.) Sawyer’s also thankful for his birthday gifts from Noelle, especially the 30-ounce container of Temptations!
All of the Kitties and I send our thanks to each of you for your support, following and friendship!
Thankful Thursday is hosted by Brian. To participate post on your blog for what you are thankful. Enter Brian’s URL in your browser to pop over to Brian’s and enter his blog hop.
Those are darn good thankfuls, especially for dear Sawyer. That was a fun poem too, I could go for a snack too! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
That was a great poem. Any cat that goes to the vet deserves a treat. 🙂 Congrats on the octopus badge. They are such interesting creatures. XO

I love this poem…and Kizmet, you should get lots of treats! Paws up to Sawyer for remaining 4 weeks seizure free! ~Ernie
MOL we love it! Great photo and great poem. We also LOVE that Sawyer has gone 4 weeks without a visit from the seizure monster. Keep up the good work eating those noms.
Noelle is happy he liked his birthday gifts!!
The Florida Furkids with love and whisker kisses to Sawyer from Noelle
Oh, Sawyer, GOOD NEWS, congrats! And that’s a cool poem…love the part about not making them bleed, haha. And yes, in this southern France heat a big bowl of ice cream would be GREAT. I dream on…mama remembers A and W root beer floats….
Love the poem. I deserve a treat too.
Love your thankful things, especially about Sawyer. Great news.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around, a smooch to Cooper Murphy and Sawyer and a big hug to mom. ♥
A&W I had forgotten about them. I would have been sent packing too had I been employed in any food service. Daddy always said Mama and I could not walk and chew gum at the same time.
I’m trying to remember which one of the local drive ins had car hops on skates. I remember Shoney’s I think have a drive in with car hops.
OMCs I had to do a go back to look a my photo thought I had missed the kitty!! Kizmet you are a poet 100% . Hamburger meat is a treat for sure.
Thank Mom for her kind words about my poem!!
I stared at that photo for several days my mind’s eye had nuttin’ then all of a sudden Copacabana came to mind. I have always been a Barry Manilow fan.
Hugs Cecilia
Terrific story poem, and we hope that big tip happened.
Purr-fection!!!
That’s great. We need more drive-ins just for that reason. Maybe next to vet’s offices.
Let’s make that FIVE weeks, Kizmet! We loved your poem, too. Our Mom waitress many moons ago, but never at a drive-in. See ya! XOX Xena, Lucy and Chia
Have to say, LOVE that poem. Sawyer…congratulations on eating your medicine noms and for not haveing a seizure in four weeks. Mom said she is so happy for you..and so am I.
Kizmet you are a perfect addition to the poetry challenge photo this week! The poem your Mom wrote is absolutely fabulous and we did NOT know she had worked at A&W many moons ago. Thanks to your Mom for being poetic with us. It’s great news too that our buddy Sawyer is on a winning streak with NO SEIZURES. YAY!
Hugs, Teddy
You look so cute looking out of the car window, Kizmet. Hope you got your treat. Great news that Sawyer has gone 4 weeks seizure free.
Four weeks without a seizure is good news indeed, yay Sawyer! Kizmet is a cute addition to the photo and I enjoyed the poetry. And good for Cooper Murphy!
Four weeks without a seizure is furtastic!
KIzmet you sure penned…um…pawed a great poem!
Hope you did get a treat or two or three when you got home.
We love how you’re peeking out of the car window, *she* giggled!
