Kizmet is here today in a lovely profile selfie, which she snapped on Wednesday prior to being poked and prodded by the vet. She also received oodles of compliments from Dr. McBane, who admired her beautiful grey furs. (This was Dr. McBane’s first home visit for us, so she had never met Kizmet, Astrid or Cooper Murphy. All the other Kitties Blue had visited her previously at the office.)

We have been doing a lot of celebrating around here lately, and tomorrow we’ll be doing it again. It will be our 13th blogoversary as well as the anniversary of Sawyer’s second Gotcha Day. (That’s the day when I brought him home from his walkabout.) You definitely don’t want to miss out. There just might be a few surprise prizes handed out.

Mom gave me a good grooming on Caturday afternoon, so I wanted to show off how lovely I look in this glittery frame Mom gave me. I think Kizmet better watch out. I might knock her off her super meowdel pedestal. What do you think?

“ON THE CATWALK” & THANKFULS

Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Another Thursday means another opportunity to write a poem based on an inspiration photo provided by Angel Sammy and Teddy (Two Spoiled Cats). This week’s photo is another totally weird one. I mean, what was the designer thinking?

I thought this photo could really use some help, and I could not think of a better way to improve it than to add a cat. And what better cat than our very own super meowdel, Kizmet. Not only is she in the photo, but she also wrote this week’s poem!

On The Catwalk

I am a world famous super meowdel
but would never wear this hideous outfit.
There is fashion, fad and then outrageously ugly.
But, honestly, I never don any clothes.
I walk the catwalk naked and proud …
my luxurious furs make me stunning …
no need for Brillo pads masquerading as hair.
The audience loves me, gasps in awe,
applauds and throws catnip mousies at my feet!

Thankful Thursday

Thursday also is the day when Kitties Blue and I share the things for which we are thankful.

Dad Tom had his two-month follow-up with our orthopedic surgeon, and he is doing great. Though he has a few PT sessions remaining, he was able to take a ten-mile bike ride outside yesterday. His recovery is a big thankful for both of us.

Just one week shy of seven months in my recovery from knee replacement surgery, I finally have made my way back to where I was with my Peloton output prior to surgery. To think I will have to start over again after I have my left knee replaced in September is somewhat discouraging. But once I have two new knees, I know I’ll be able to ride longer and better. And I am really hoping that Dad Tom and I can get back to riding our tandem again.

I have had the opportunity to do more work in the gardens and have been enjoying the blooming azaleas, peonies and irises. SUPER MEOWDEL PROCLAMATION

Sunday Selfies: Week #558

Proclamation: Now, therefore, I, Janet Blue, Mom to Kitties Blue of The Cat on My Head, proclaim Kizmet Blue to be the Kitty Super Meowdel and grant her all the rights and privileges of that position.

As you can see, Kizmet is quite humbled by this honor which she so deservedly has been granted. She is aware that every feline is a super meowdel and should be proclaimed as such.

The Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop is hosted each Friday by Ellen (15 And Meowing) and Lorianne (Four-Legged Furballs). They publish the fill-in sentences on their blogs each Thursday. To join the hop, click on the badge at the left. I had to fill in all the blanks myself this week with no help from any of the Kitties Blue. I used teal italics for my fill-ins.

1. I am pretty thick skinned and not much hurts my feelings.

2. Things on my not to do list include eating sushi and scuba diving.

3. Any item that resembles a cat or a panda is an inanimate object that cheers me up.

4. I wish I could hire someone to take care of the yard and gardens.

ASTRID JOINS SUPER MEOWDEL COMPETITION

Sunday Selfies: Week #547

A few week’s ago, Lisbeth decided to vie for the title of Kitties Blue Super Meowdel against Kizmet. If you missed that post, here’s the link: “Super Meowdel Competition Heats Up!”

Today, another of the Kitties Blue has decided to join the competition, which totally surprised me. She is a sweet, unassuming, quiet girl.

Astrid snapped her selfie last night while Dad Tom and I were having dinner. She sits patiently on the floor between our chairs just in case a morsel of something delicious should hit the floor. She never makes a peep or begs … just sits and waits. Well, good manners should be rewarded … right? Well, her dad definitely thinks so. Last night many pieces of tasty chicken fell right in front of her paws. I am not saying I have never indulged her, but it is Dad Tom who is the soft touch.

After Astrid saw what a terrific selfie she had snapped, she proclaimed she would be joining the Super Meowdel Competition. In all honesty she has the most gorgeous furs and beautiful green eyes, so I think she’s made a good decision. I suspect sometime soon, Dad Tom and I will actually have to set some criteria for the competition to keep it from becoming contentious. Of course, we will have to recuse ourselves from the judging and leave that up to our readers. After all, we have to live with the winner as well as the losers.

So sometime in the future, we will be announcing the criteria for judging and then open the polls for voting. In the meantime …

It’s Time to Hop

SUPER MEOWDEL COMPETITION HEATS UP!

Sunday Selfies: Week #529

Lisbeth has decided that she is every bit as photogenic as Kizmet. So she is back again today, after her Wordless Wednesday post, “What Do You Mean…”, to share a particularly lovely, pre-Halloween selfie.

She does appear rather intense. I believe it is her showing her determination to unseat Kizmet and become the official Kitties Blue Super Meowdel. I also suspect that some time in the future, both Lisbeth and Kizmet are going to be pleading for your votes to secure the title. But in the meantime…

Time to Hop

That’s right, it’s now time to share your selfie with us and all your other friends. If you get it done early, you will have all of Sunday to take it easy.
